I think if someone were to come to me from my future and warn me of some horrible thing I'm going to do, and they could prove it, I'd want to do my best to avoid it.

I changed. And I know some very amazing and wonderful people who have worked hard to change, and are still working on being better than what they were before.

For me, I had to grow beyond how I was raised. My upbringing wasn't the best. I grew up on a prison island, surrounded by the worst of the worst in my world. Once I got out of there, I saw that I could be better than what I was taught. I made the active choice to do so, and it's a choice I continue to make every day.

I think you and I might be in a similar position. I was not raised in a warm environment either and I fear much of it has rubbed off on me. It is very difficult for me to feel empathy unless I actively try.

But I am trying and perhaps that counts for something.

But the future is damnably unpredictable. There are so many damned prophecies and glimpses and yet none of them are as certain as anyone claims. The universe is tricky that way.

As it happens, I do know my future--some parts of it, at least. I know someone I will meet and certain events that must take place. I'm... fortunate that this particular future isn't a bad one, at least.

Aside from that... I feel that nearly anyone can change. If you want to change for the better, I believe you can do so.
