PLAYER PLOT: Boogeymen, Nightmares, Monsters, Oh A LOG?

For the past few weeks, there have been odd rumors circulating through the cities. Rumors of monsters, the likes of which are so terrifying that the stories remain hushed whispers. And now, starting on MARCH 11THand lasting until MARCH 17TH, those monsters are a reality. Only in Everglade and Fayren, thankfully. Horrifying monsters will be prowling these cities during that time, and they seem to target pendent bearers exclusively... Scarier yet, they reflect the personal nightmares of the people that they're stalking! Read more at [ THIS OOC POST. ]
This Log And Event Are OPTIONALYou are not obligated to participate in the Log or the Event. If you want to make your own event related entries, please go ahead. You may continue to use the OOC post for event plotting and related questions.
You may use the event log to make top-levels for your characters and their specific nightmares, or choose to engage with two "Generic" monsters. The generic monsters are created by rumors circling around the city. If your character has no specific fears to prey upon, then you may instead use these monsters for fights and frights. Or use all monsters for maximum frights and fights.
Thank you, everyone~! Let's have fun~!

PROMPTS.
[A] Everglade's Generic Boogeyman
Thanks to the power of rumors and gossip, two of Memo's generic Boogeymen have come to life! The monster that prowls the streets of Everglade is a large, skinny creature that resembles a stickbug, with human head(s.) The details of the human face may change depending on what characters expect, but it is always very tall and always snatching people into lonely alleyways. It only goes for pendent bearers, and once it has you in the darkness, it begins wrapping you up in web like a spider. It also wants your wallets and steals shoes.
Because this creature is created from collective gossip, it's stronger than most of the other Nightmares. It's details can be adjusted so that characters (and their muns,) fill in the gaps of that vague description. You can't be wrong!

[B] Fayren's Generic Boogeyman
Rumors and gossip also allowed Memo to create a second Boogeyman, this time in Fayren. The creature lurking in Fayren is a bit different, as it can only be found in the forests of Fayren. That's because it's significantly larger and hard to miss: It is a large, golden dragon that breathes fire, and sometimes uses other elements as well. Curiously, those the fire and attacks can hurt horribly, they don't cause any lasting damage. It doesn't even knock down trees. But if it catches sight of a pendent bearer, it will chase them all of the way to the city's edge. It also tries to grab them, fling them around, and make change fall out of their pockets. Weird.

AAAAGGGGHHH!
[It chilled Ted's heart, then broke it. Sans was gone, and Ted hadn't heard his voice for over a year. He'd never heard him cry out with such anguish, let alone be its cause. It was all Ted could do to meet and suffer those hurt, accusing eyes.
Ted hoped that would finish the horrible little fake. No such luck. Sans--no, this substantial illusion with Sans' appearance, was merely down, not out. And unlike Ted, it wasn't alone. Namur and Koishi, another two he dearly loved, looked at him with shock in their faces, as if it were they and not he who beheld their nightmares. Then they pressed their attack.
Ted's trio of tormentors are formidable foes. Sans and Koishi pelted and overwhelmed him with a volley of magic slings and arrows, while Namur engaged at close-range with brute force. Ted's bruised and battered body underneath his sinister form bore testament to the difficulty of evading all three.
Yet that wasn't what kept him from victory. Their falsehood was plain enough; Sans' presence alone ensured disbelief. What's more, none of them acted like their models. They never said a word, never explained themselves. They appeared, then attacked, and the only hint of personality came from their severe countenances. It should've been child's play to destroy them.
Their dirtiest trick was yet to come. The moment Ted decided to counterattack, the false Koishi's subtle powers of emotional manipulation did their work. While Ted's brain ordered him to dispatch these fakes calmly and quickly, Koishi's power raised the protest of his heart to an intolerable, irresistible din. How could you shoot Sans? How could you raise a finger against even the image of your loved ones? The hurt, astonished faces of his foes seemed to share that opinion.
So Ted ran. He dodged, he evaded, he did anything but strike back. His heart, bolstered by his natural tenderness and Koishi's unnatural exaggeration, defeated his mind. The battle without confused the battle within, where his intellect plead in vain for him to overcome. To be strong. To harden his heart and slay these illusions.
Unfortunately for Ted, heartlessness is a tall order.]
(OOC: So long as your character isn't the one finishing them off, I'm cool with whatever.)
Koishi to the rescue
She blinked and turned, looking down through the gloom to see a mop of golden hair, fleeing... And then falling on his face. Ted? She blinked. What in the world was he running from...?
Her eyes widened as she spotted it, diving from the sky. A red lance of pure horror struck the ground between Ted and his pursuers, Koishi landing lightly between them, eyes already blackened from the effort.
"Mister Spades? Are you okay? Why am I over there and over here? Is she bothering you? It looks like she's bothering you."
Thanks he hates it

Menace [Everglade, OTA]
So, when closing time came for the day, he felt a sense of accomplishment. Locking up after everyone up was hardly a chore - there was just one key and a ward on the door - and he was out just as night truly fell.
Things were going almost too well. He had yet to encounter the rumored monsters, and to be honest, he wasn't really sure they were actually out there. He was just about to climb onto his cycle when he saw it. Something looming over the tops of the nearest buildings. Somathing huge, and... oddly familiar. A feeling of dread hit his stomach like a lead brick. That form... he knew it. It was something right out of his worst nightmares. An old enemy. One that shouldn't be alive. The twisted hulk of flesh and bone that Dmitri had become, after copying his own power of Dominance and absorbing the soul of a particularly nasty demon.
An abomination he had come to call Menace.]
((OOC notes: Menace is HUGE. Forty feet tall and really, really nasty. He's an amalgamation of all the souls Dmitri Blinov copied from Soma while inhabiting his body as a stolen soul. This 'boss' battle is open to ANYONE who wants in on the action. For a look at the in-game battle, click here.

Konoka | (Fayren) OTA
Why just the morning, Konoka had been getting up in Amatsu and was about to head out the door when she thought she saw a familiar figure. Was that... Ayame? She looked, gasped, and almost called out. But "Ayame" wasn't.
The woman turned around, gave an un-sisterly, wicked smile, and brandished two swords.
Konoka shrank back, but by the time she focused again she was gone.
During the times where there weren't any customers, Konoka felt even more alone than ever. Already depressed from Eva's disappearance, Ayame disappearing (again) had given her a huge mental blow. Many of the people she had been especially close to had all left, with just a few people she still knew wrapped up in other adventures. The loneliness ached so horribly.
And it was in these thoughts that something dark whispered to her, So why bother? All those strong people who admired you... they're all gone. It's just you. Out here to be kidnapped, or killed or worse...
Konoka looked up and saw Eva... no, Eva's head, carried by a woman in a white dress... who had no head. And then she put on Eva's head, and that perpetually dead looking face became twisted in gleeful malice.
There's no one to save you this time. ]
HEHEHEHEHEHE!
[ Konoka shrieked in terror as the thing gave an un-Eva-like laugh. She scrambled away, narrowing dodging a sword that probably would have cut open her stomach. ]
[[This is the big catch all for Konoka's nightmare event! Right now she's being terrorized by a Headhunter, who's normally more simple lust for heads is being twisted by her feeling lonely, and the fact that it carries several heads consist of her closest CR that are no longer here. I eventually plan for her to hide for a little while, then come back and finish the monster later on. Those two parts will be written as replies to this one later on in the week!]]

Hey! Catch!
[She hopes Konoka hears her. Dropping merchandise and breaking it would be the worst, after all. Silicon tosses a oddly shaped glass bottle to Konoka, then gestures to the monster.]
It's a smokescreen! Let's go! [Sorry, Konoka. Silly isn't carrying very many offensive weapons at the moment.
Hope you like running!]

Re: Konoka | (Fayren) OTA
Konoka's place. It's central location and medical purpose made it a good spot to see just how dire the situation really was. Ted might've called first, but thinking ahead isn't his strong suit. He hopes she's actually minding the shop, rather than out in the field. Wouldn't want to waste the trip.
As he flew overhead, he heard the piercing shriek that tensed and focused his mind. Seemed their visit would be under dire circumstances. He honed in on the source, then boosted straight down so forcefully that cobblestones sprayed from the landing. His own experience taught him that, if her trouble was anything like his, it'd pursue Konoka exclusively. As he landed, a dome of black threads covered the two for protection.]
Not bad timing, eh? Konoka, are you hurt?

Everglade | OTA Prose or Brackets is fine!
A gaunt haze sprung out of the ground, and her steps made hollow clops against the hard and nobbled cobblestone. She was heading back to the hotel for now... a miserable place as ever and was considering the red bills that she was given just a little over ten days ago. How quickly she gotten used to the normalcy of living, she thought, and how soon it will be before she would have to find a job to cover her expenses. She was reminded of the angel that was on the comm not too long ago and knew immediately she was not going to be like that if she could help it.
With a sigh she reached a bank with a lone spotlight which marked the turn she was going to make. The fog had gotten quite heavy and the rain had turned to quiet mist. Knowing she was not going to get any relief from the umbrella, she made the motion to close it. A quizzical frown came to her face. Where was the sound? Her attention turned downwards to her feet. Yes, they were still moving but the rhythmic pacing was no longer bouncing in her ears. What was going on?
Suitably unnerved she made her way closer to the light. One thing came loud to her ears: her heart. As she stepped closer, her hands tightening around her bags into corded knots, she felt a looming dread. One she had not faced since...
A figure stepped out from the haze into the light. Only a shadow of a silhouette was present, but she could make out its form. Thin and spindly, with two sets of gigantic wings pressing out beyond the gaze of the light. A spear in hand and a blackened shape where a face would be. Vaggie could feel her heart drop as two more figures enter into the same light, their dark faces looking in her direction. Then, one by one, red electronic faces flickered on. They were all smiling in a twisted unnatural shape as they each raised their spears in unison.
The only thing she could do was scream and run to the sound of beating wings behind her.

Crash.
The spike of his metal boot into the gut of the creature on the far left was aimed in a manner that would hopefully send its body whip-cracking into the wings of the one in the middle with devastating force behind it. He came to a stop after a short hop between where the girl had been running and the monsters hurried chase, light beginning to flicker about his body as if sparklers were being set off behind him... it made the dull mist roll with a violent green.
"Stop." A simple command, brows furrowing... it was a shame he had left his hero costume behind.

His cold fingers twirled his cutesy, whale-themed umbrella as he watched the rain. Should he go looking for curse-reducing charms today? Or go absorb the curses from a haunted object? He wanted to finish his tasks and get out of the city before he absorbed too much creepy bad luck---
The sound of a scream cut through his thoughts. Shi tilted his head, initially confused. Then, at hearing the wings and seeing the distant sight, his thoughts raced like lightning.
It was faster than he could process. Shi began closing his umbrella as he ran towards Vaggie, but only partially. When he got closer to her, he ran a step ahead of her and--
opened the umbrella
like a really useless shield.
A useless, but heckin' adorable shield.

Fayren - OTA
[Alice was running, the sound of marching feet coming up behind her and fast, fast, fast. It was always just right behind her. She didn't know how, she didn't want to know, all she knew was that she had turned the corner and saw a very angry Queen of Hearts and much, much, much bigger and bloodier Ace card soldiers who towered over the both of them with giant axes in their hands while blood dripped down from their emblems. She wasn't even aware paper could bleed.
The Queen had pointed right at her and yelled the way she always did.
Only, there was no King to pardon her, and there were no mushrooms or Eat Mes to make her bigger.
In her fear, she had stood frozen and one of the soldiers had lifted his ax, letting it slam down but it missed her. But that was all she needed to remember the danger she was in and run.
And she just kept running, trying to get around buildings and alleys and lose them, somehow, but everywhere she went, they followed.
She had managed to get into a park, too tired to climb one of the trees. Alice's legs gave out from under her, her heart pounding in her chest as she collapsed at the base of one instead, hoping she could hide at least for a little bit to try and catch her breath. She needed to call Neil or Regina or Evie or just someone. She fumbled around for her phone to get a hold of them, her hands shaking so much she kept dropping it into the grass.
Finally she managed to pick it up. But she was so focused on trying to get help, she froze as she no longer heard marching and instead three shadows were cast over her. She looked up and three soldiers loomed over her, drops of blood from their wounds dripping onto her hand.
She screamed when two of the card soldiers, the Ace of Clubs and the Ace of Diamonds, grabbed her and hoisted her up in the air, her legs flailing but unable to reach the ground while the third lifted up his ax. She tried to pull herself out of their grip and winced as it only tightened and she was brought closer to the Ace of Spades. They brought her back to her knees and made her lean forward. She shut her eyes tight.]
no subject
[A blast of magic streaks through the air and strikes the soldiers square in the chest, sending them flying backwards. The Ace of Clubs and Ace of Diamonds release Alice as they're thrown backwards, hitting the ground with a dull thud without moving. When Alice falls, instead of hitting the ground, she'll hit a soft cloud of air as Albus Dumbledore runs up to her with his wand in hand.]

Everglade -OTA
Clearly, he was wrong because right now he's definitely being harried by something of the undead nature. A skeleton was shambling behind him. Unlike many other skeletons though it looked far more grotesque. Fleshy purple tendrils clung inside it's ribcage, as more of them writhed out in other openings in it's body. It carried a long gnarled bow at it's side as it ran after Elden. Getting shot at as he ran was one scary thing, the thing's paralyzing purple tongue was another terrifying thing. The fact it could turn you into it's undead minion if it killed you was also a horrifying thing.
The thing that really scared Elden was that this monster had the face of his friend, Theron. It was hard to mistake those features, the brow, the healed burn scars on the Theron thing's face.
He had only ever fought a mohrg once but that was with friends who had far more combat prowess than him. Elden knew he didn't have a good chance against it alone. His anti undead measures could only do so much if he had a moment to cast, but this thing was on his heels. Arrows firing past him all the while it continued to gain more an more momentum on him.
He's already yelling at this point. Yelling for any help that can come to him. ]
Re: Everglade -OTA
Fortunately, noise carried just as well, and Ted heard the screams of a damsel in distress. He's on his way!
Oh, it's Elden. He'd hoped they might meet in the flesh under better circumstances. As it was, Ted's form wasn't the knight in shining armor either of them hoped. He looked similar to a nightwalker, albeit in more manageable and humanoid proportions.
Two threads lanced from above covering either side of the street hosting their pursuit. Each post then formed an outline between them that filled in, making a black, curved wall that would send every arrow their way into a void, never to return. Stuffing projectiles is his specialty.
Ted himself would touch down nearer to Elden's side soon after.]
No time for introductions, I'm afraid. What are we dealing with?

Fayren - OTA
[Near the Amatsu anyone may see a lone figure in a white kimono and purple shawl. She is easily recognizable, or at least mistakable, for the inn's head chef. If someone approaches her she will turn, her dark eyes wild and shining, her kimono suddenly soaking with blood from a horrendous wound across her back and partially through her front where she was nearly cleaved in to. She pulls a bloodied knife from her sleeve, cuts from the corners of her mouth to her ears forming red lines as her eyes widen more and as she opens her mouth to speak the cuts form a grotesque wide grin.]
I am finally able to smile.
[2: The zombie]
[In that same area a different figure could be seen as well. This one is not nearly so recognizable, not without studying the remains of its face for longer than most would likely care to. The clothing is the same but dirty and worn where it isn't crusted with old dried blood, the skin the ashen color of decay. When she turns it is seen that her eyes and lips have long since rotted away--and yet it is able to speak.]
This is all that is left...
[3: And As for Tomoe Herself...]
[When she wasn't actively trying to kill herself at the Amatsu by forgetting to eat while working herself to death in reaction to Ayame's disappearance Tomoe had taken to walking more and more outside--perhaps a call back to when she had been transformed into a dragon several months ago. The overhang where she had finally taken a literal leap of faith in order to fly had become one of her personal favorite places to think. It was on her way there that she first encountered one of them.]
[The white figure had stepped out from behind a tree into her path, the white of the kimono eerily bright in the shade of the trees.]
You were able to smile in death... but not now...
[The specter tilted its head as the kimono began to darken with blood, pulling the bloodied knife from its sleeve and smiling with its horrific split-faced grin.]
But I have found a way for you to smile no matter what!
[Tomoe's scream caught in her throat as she turned to run as well as she could in a kimono and geta. She stumbled and fell, losing one shoe in the process, scrambling back to her feet to continue on. She makes it to the end of the path where it connects to the main road before it appears before her again]
Or is it that you do not want to smile? You think it is too late--?
[Tomoe does manage to scream this time, scrambling backward before tripping again--but this time the specter falls on top of her, its hands twisting into her kimono as its flesh begins to rot before her eyes. Her screams continue as she claws at the thing over top of her.]
Yes, yes, this is what you are now--long dead, decayed, turned to dust forgotten--and you should be, shouldn't you? What are you other than a venomous snake? You betrayed everything you loved--
[It hands managed to find her throat even as she clawed at it, its skin cold and clammy, the bones sharp and hard beneath the withering flesh. Its eyes seemed to melt from the sockets, its lips shriveling away from its teeth as it tightened its grip on her throat and cut off her screams]
Such foolish sentiments of a 'second chance'--you do not deserve a second chance you foolish woman! You killed Kiyosatto! You killed Enishi! You may as well have killed Kenshin! All with your inaction and that placid face! And yet you hope? You dare to hope--
[The grip tightened even further, her vision began to black out. Was she going to die this way? Die again? Maybe... and maybe she deserved it...]
3
Ergo, it seemed prudent to check every establishment of every pendant-bearer to assure their safety. The Amatsu Inn was next on the list, and what should he find but a desperate struggle?
From above, in the night, he couldn't make out the identities of either party. He just knew he had to stop it before it got much further.
A fusillade of black threads shot from his form, darting towards the altercation. Given the sliver of a chance, they'd wind and crawl their way atop hands and limbs, endowed with superhuman strength as they tried to pry the two apart. He had no idea just how strong the grapple was, and was leery of using less precise force to wrench and separate. Wouldn't want to tear something. While the threads did their work, Ted himself rushed to get a closer look.]

Everglade OTA (adaptable format)
Thunk. Thunk. Thunk.
That doesn't sound like the usual footsteps of Everglade's macabre citizens. She looks down the road towards the source, and her heart sank. Making its way towards her was the familiar sight of a Demon, summoned by Erulean cultists to bring in a new age of order through slavery in her world. And it was staring her down like it was ready for payback for her defiance before.
Anastasia wasn't dressed or prepared for a fight, so what can she do as she squares off in total bewilderment in the middle of the road with it?
Plucking mana from the air and weaving it together, she generates a ball of blessed Light magical energy and launches it at the pit fiend, striking it in the face and... Absolutely nothing. She remembers now. Without the divine blessings, her magic is native. Natural. Useless against these unnatural monsters.
The fiend spreads it's wings and launches into a dive sweep at the girl. She runs in a panicked retreat as it slams on the ground at her former position and gives chase, easily keeping up with her as it swipes its claws at her and narrowly missing her each time.
"What is going on?! Somebody, help! Please!"
no subject
And, well, if someone called for help, then he could not stand aside.
"Ma'am-- are you ok??" Between the girl and the monsters steadying form Izuku would place himself, fists up, ready to fight with electric green dancing about his clothes so vividly that it made the fabric shift... like gravity suddenly wasn't affecting him. He could not take his eyes off of the enemy, but there was the shakiest grin upon his face...!
"I am here... to help you!"

Fayren OTA (adaptable format)
Her thoughts drift momentarily to the idea of necromancy... Of monsters. The war with the Demon King. It's simply far too scary and she hugs herself to calm her nerves. She begins to leave when she hears a rumble. She looks back to the memorial to see the ground around it shimmering.
Just like the birds and animals that flee the area in unison, Myrrh is so easily frightened, so she dares not approach as the rumbling grew louder and the shimmering seemed to distort reality. Suddenly, a black hole appears on the memorial and a giant black and scarred arm lunges out and slam into the ground. Further away, another arm reaches out and grips the ground. The black holes begin to grow until they met and joined into a massive hole in the ground, and what begins to appear froze the little manakete in her spot.
Twisted horns, glowing eyes, a face full of teeth, black skin scarred by tgose foolish enough to challenge him. It was the Demon King, Fomortiis.
"No! It can't be! You were sealed in Rausten's Sacred Stone! You can't be here!"
But he doesn't speak a word... He just stares at Myrrh, as if taunting her in her disbelief. What is she going to do? Run? He might follow her into Fayren and beyond! Not like she can get her feet moving, anyway. Eventually, her knees give way and she falls, shielding herself with her wings and at the mercy of the Demon King as he opens his maw to laugh.

"Myrrh, what is that thing?" He glares up at it, his other arm extending as if gripping an invisible sword, ready to summon a blade at a moment's notice. Yes, he shouldn't judge by appearances, but he can't help but feel a fight is imminent.

I'm assuming the demon king is big enough for them to do this?
Fayren - OTA
When she turned around the corner she found herself pausing, stopping in place. What she was seeing was the person she had been in that month of January a year ago. The cold and heartless version of herself she had come to hate and fear at the same time. The her that she never wanted to see again.
Slowly taking a step back, she could feel her heart pounding faster and faster. She didn't want to see this, she wanted to get out of there and fast. But as she stepped back the other followed her, the coldness of her eyes clear. She had no idea what was going to happen if the other caught her, so she turned on her heels and started to run.
She needed to get out of there and fast. So she started to run, the cold heartless version of herself following after. She had no idea what he was going to do if she was caught.]

He doesn't even notice at first. It's not that sinister of a situation, after all. As Lucifer walks through the streets of Everglade, he's being followed. By what? By someone who looks just like him, only with wings.
It's...really not that scary. Except that it keeps getting closer to Lucifer, and he hasn't figured it out yet.
Until he does. He turns a corner and catches sight of it, and then there's no more denying it. He turns to face the apparition.]
No. [It's firm and definitive, a dismissal, except the other him doesn't go anywhere, just looks at him with a knowing smile. He's there for a reason, after all.]
Leave. Me. Alone.
[Still no answer.
Lucifer does the only thing he can think of. He speaks a few words in some unintelligible language. (Seriously, the only way to know what he said is to speak some sort of celestial language.) No response.
He's left with no choice but to stare down his winged counterpart.]
...no regret.
That's when she spots the young man and .....the other young man, with wings. The angel can see they look identical minus only one with wings.]
Hello there!
[Cause you know, yay! Another angel!]
Um. What happened to your wings?
[She asks the real!Lucifer. An angel missing wings... yeah, she thinks Lucifer is suppose to look like his twin brother.]
never regret it

He hasn't even reached the bloodbank when a sound catches his attention. A consistent one, which follows him for another few blocks. A female voice eventually whispers his name in repetition, until Eliot can't ignore the stalking any longer.
The vampire boy stops in his tracks and sighs, loudly, in annoyance.]
Alright, enough stupidity. If you want something from me, just say it-- [He expects to turn around and see someone petty. Maybe Rip embarrassing him, or someone about to tell him that his pink fashion doesn't "suit Everglade."
Instead, Eliot sees a teenage girl. He freezes, throat tight and heart stopped. He recognizes her: Her tailored dress, her brown hair, those brown eyes, and that tacky pendent.]
Zariah...? ["This" Eliot is very rarely confused. More often than not, his infinite memories allow him to at least use correlation and patterns to explain strange phenomenon. But he can't reason with the sight of this girl. Even when her eyes turn black and dark red blood oozes from her mouth-- Even when her bloody hands reach out to close around his neck-- Eliot is silent. Silent, and too terrified to resist.]
S, Someone... help her..!

What sort of abomination is that?
[Augustine questions as he emerges out of the shadows. He has a knack for showing up when you least expect him but his timing is utterly impeccable. Who knows what would've happened if Augustine hadn't appeared. Eliot was frozen in fright.]
Do you know her, Eliot? [He gives the blond a quick glance.] I can't say I find her familiar.

Shouta walked tiredly next to Hizashi and Toshinori. Suppose it didn't hurt to bring Toshinori along, yet it didn't settle in with Shouta. Maybe because of the nightmares or something.... Toshinori was already living in one before this event.]
This is the shit I was telling you about Hizashi.
[Giving his friend fair warning.]
slides in late with starbucks i guess
He grumbles though, face half hidden by the speaker around his neck.]
Yeah yeah, you mentioned.
[he has his hands shoved in his pockets, eyes watching the area in front of them carefully, should something appear. Or, selfishly, should he need to side step out of the way of something extra creepy, like a roach.]

"Sakuya..."
The maid snapped to attention, turning, her eyes falling on a familiar figure. One she hadn't truly seen in a very long time…
She took a knee, head bowed low. She could not meet her gaze. Somewhere in the back of her mind she must have known that this thing in front of her was not her lady. That it was an illusion created by this world. But, on rare occasion, hope, however brief, can be so much stronger than reason.
“I must ask you, why have you become such a disappointment? The woman I see in front of me scarcely seems worthy of being called a maid. Your mind is unfocused, it wanders to places that have nothing to do with your duty, and is clearly filled with doubts. It is the mind of a commonplace human, not one of the few who actually won my respect. Are you truly so troubled that you have let yourself fall so far?”
She felt as if time had frozen without her command. As if her blood was running cold. Even if it was not truly Her Lady, the voice and tone saying these things was...
“Remilia Scarlet is the one that made you who you are, who defined your very purpose for being. Are these things you have forgotten? To allow yourself to become so anguished, I can only assume you have. Have you forgotten the fate I wove for you? Your fate is to serve Remilia Scarlet. And yet, now you seem to doubt that. You question yourself, you question your worth. To where did your confidence flee, and what else did it take with it? Where is the woman who served me so faithfully? She would have never allowed such wasteful doubts to plague her mind. What did you do with the real Sakuya? The Sakuya who remembered her place?”
“I’m sorry…” Her voice was scarcely a whisper. She didn’t object. She didn’t argue. She couldn’t. She could only remain as she was and apologize. Over and over. She tried to repeat her oath, but the words caught in her throat as a sob rippled through her, silent tears flowing freely, blurring her vision before falling to the ground.

That said... she should probably go check on Sakuya... and hoping she wasn't being affected by these things.
She just wasn't expecting to find... herself. "What's going on here?"

Then there is a howl that may have been laughter. A trio of hounds, their bodies oozing, made of molten lava, have found the scent they sought, and the wild hunt is on. It stops Namur in his tracks, and he spins in a panic. He can't suppress the memory of that voice, and suddenly it all coalesces into a flaming, horrific scene in his mind, only made worse by seeing it, steaming and real, giving full chase right in front of him.]
Ohhhhhh shit this's bad!
[He turns on his heels and runs, already knowing that they'll leave the natives alone, preferring to follow him relentlessly. At least no one else is around- he doesn't know if they'll chase him exclusively or if other pendant bearers will make acceptable prey for the magma dogs, and he would very much rather not find out. And if he could maybe draw them out to the swamps, he might have a chance at defeating them...]
Cue 1 smol girlfriend
Out of nowhere, there comes a howl even more unnatural-sounding than what she can produce, and it runs a shudder through her body. What, is she just supposed to be haunted by twisted memories of her life before this place...?
At least her unexpected detour seems to have resulted in some good, however-- It means that she's perfectly positioned to catch sight of Namur as he goes bolting past like Hell itself is on his tail. That alone would have been enough to catch her attention and get her moving, but when seconds later she sees an actual monster in hot pursuit, she bristles; ghosts and visions tormenting her is one thing, but something going after Namur? That means war.
She breaks into a sprint without even stopping to consider tactics or good sense, too focused on her target and the raw predator drive fueling her need to pursue for any of that to matter. If she could just catch up, get at least a few seconds to rush through a shift, she could get this thing off of Namur's back...]

"Darc..."
He turned, slowly, toward the voice. "No..."
The voice belonged to a middle-aged woman in a conservative dress. She clutched her right side, where a bullet wound bled out, staining her dress. Tears streaked her face.
"G-Get away from me!" Darc cried out.
"There you go again, with your cruel words," said the woman. "I gave my life for you, my son, and all you had for me...was hatred."
"Stop it! Stop it! This can't be real..."
"'More than anyone, I despise you'...those were you words, to your own mother...as she was dying. How could you, Darc? How could you? You really are...some kind of monster...I gave birth to a monster..."
"I was - I mean, I didn't know - " Darc shook his head, trying to loosen the grip fear kept on him. It didn't work. Sweat beaded on his brow, and tears gathered in his eyes. "You don't mean that! You can't - No!"
Darc summoned what strength he had left: "Get away from me!!"
