genessia | 8th Campaign [Video] / [Action] Backdated August 7th

[At roughtly 9 am, a young woman adorn in white appears in the feed, with a rather smug smile upon her features.]

Denizens of Genessia. Though it is behind schedule, the time is finally right to present the project I have been working on.

[The ground in the northwest region of Genessia City trembles. The shaking is strongest around the area of 12th and 13th street, though thankfully not enough to make buildings collapse. Anyone who has passed by the area before would have noticed a wall keeping civilians out, but what is in place now is absolutely nothing like what had been seen just the evening before:

What appears to be (from the outside) some sort of Colosseum stands in the area of Genessia city, atop a three story high asphalt hill.]

The construction of the school is nearly complete! I invite interested parties to meet at 12th and Hawthorne for a tour of what was formerly to be called Wily Academy, but now goes by the name of Second Honnouji Academy, located in Genessia City!

For those who do not know of me, I am Satsuki Kiryuin, Deputy Guardian of Nova City. Several months ago I had expressed my desire to bring students together in hopes of achieving unification. Unification so that we may work together as a productive, disciplined and motivated culture.

[The young woman's eyes narrow.]

However, following the calamity of Genessia City a mere two months ago, I have noticed that many have found themselves troubled by their self-perceived shortcomings. Therefore this Academy shall also become half Military Academy, to mold those that view themselves as 'useless' to become dutiful and organized emergency respondents.

Just so I am clear, those that arrive for the tour are not automatically considered enrolled in this academy. This is an opportunity to see what I have to offer, and obtain even more feedback- though based on the surveys many of you have filled out, I am confident that nearly everyone's needs should be met. I am also willing to answer any questions you may have, of course.

The tour will start at 1pm sharp and is estimated to be roughly 60 minutes long for the twelve floors.

Maybe similar, I'd wager. Sounds like there are plenty of unsavory folks around here. People need to know how to protect themselves.

[Unusual schools didn't bother him--the school at which he taught was definitely unusual. He was simply surprised by the size and the moving parts.

Of course the school needed to be big. How else would Gamagori fit through the hall?]

Looks like your school will be doing a lot of good.

While that much is true, battle will hopefully not end up being the primary focus. While unity is essential in combat, I would prefer it be toward becoming a progressive society.

[And a small smile forms.]

Regardless, I am pleased to know you feel that way. I hope others will share your sentiment. How is your daughter, by the way? I am afraid I have been too caught up in my own projects to keep in touch.

That would be ideal, I think. Nobody wants kids to have to fight.

[He shrugs, no smile on his face. He understands the sentiment, of course--and her pride. The school is an accomplishment. But he is reminded of his home and the eerily empty Academy that stood in the copy of Death City in Everglade; and reminded of the days in front of the mirror watching his little girl fight corrupted souls with bated breath, just praying she'd come home safe

He must be getting old.]

She's doing well. Working in the library. I try not to bother her too much.

Ah at work; admirable.

[Satsuki finds the response rather interesting. Both interesting and, in a way, relieving.]

Forgive me but I did not expect such a response from you; it is rather nice to hear that you feel that way. And of course I hope for the best in your situation at home.

I do not know if I can rid the need of soldiers here in Genessia. I suppose we will all find out in due time.

[He lets out a slow sigh, rubbing the back of his head.]

Eh...same old. I'm always willing to work as a "soldier", if it means other people don't have to. When my wife and I were first starting out, she pretty much retired from actively working as a meister. She thought I should quit as well...but I figured, if I kept working for Lord Death as his weapon, maybe someday we wouldn't need kids to learn to fight as weapons and meisters.

If I could do that for my daughter, then I was okay risking my own safety, you know?

[After a moment, he laughs nervously, an uncomfortable flush on his cheeks.]

I sound so damn old. Sorry about that.

Hmn.

[Satsuki doesn't appear to be judging him at least, but if she can relate in any sort of way, that doesn't really show either.

What may surprise him is when she reaches out to try and set her hand upon his shoulder. Which is actually a rather rare gesture on her part. Soul isn't really like her own father, but he's gained respect from her all the same.]

For me, 'sounding old' is not a negative trait. I cannot pretend I fully understand your situation at your homeland or the relationship between yourself and your daughter, but I believe your goals are noble and that your daughter should be proud.

Were I your daughter, that is how I would feel at least.

[Spirit stiffens slightly at her touch, surprised. He wouldn't have expected this from her of all people, and he was just generally unused to such acts of kindness. As a general rule, he'd get a Shinigami- or Maka-chop to the head to stop him from behaving as such.]

Ah..you'll understand when you're a little older. It's scary when you realize you sound so old.

[He laughs, because it's his way to break the tension he's inadvertently created. Joking is easier.]

Besides, Maka and I don't always see eye to eye. I haven't been the best father. As the saying goes, I've made my grave and now I have to lie in it.

[Satsuki's expression is so straight laced it's impossible to tell if she wasn't amused by the joke, didn't get it or what. But she's no stranger to moments of tension, and she doesn't appear uncomfortable.]

I shall remember that, then.

[The way it's described, she feels she could relate to Maka and Spirit's relationship. What child couldn't?]

Never lose sight of your goal, Spirit.

[And she's ready to leave it at that.]
