Log 02 | [Action/Video]
Good morning to those who were not murdered in their sleep by Mr. Mime.
[At this point, Gale was getting pretty sick and tired of hunting for these weird monsters that were around the cities. Sure, he loved the ones he's gotten so far, but he was well content on being done with it. How many do you really need? Plus he had other things on his mind anyway. Maybe that's why he kept dragging himself out, to keep himself occupied from the dozens of questions flooding his mind because of Aymeric's appearance. And now he has two of those master balls so he has to make at least one more trip out. But not today. Today he's at Garden Park looking pretty tired, and he's got a number of food containers with him. Delphox seems to be guarding them, while Gale is sitting next to them with his phone out.]
With the arrival of our... numerous new companions, I took to the library and located resources on food they prefer. [He gestured to the containers next to him and Delphox.] I've spent many an hour cooking a variety. If any would care to bring their companions to Garden Park to try some and pick some up, you're more than welcome. [A pause.] Do remember these are for Pokemon.
[He wasn't sure what else to say, but it almost seemed silly to only make a video just about offering treats to other trainers. He hesitated before shrugging.]
And for what it is worth to some, I am currently in talks for taking the "clubs" that my namesake left behind under my wing. T'is the least I can do for him, I feel.
[Fayren - Lioriley's Cottage (Private to Lioriley and Aymeric)]
[Gale had made several batches of the Pokemon food specifically for Lior, figuring she had quite a number with her between her own catches and Estinien's. And she put up with Estinien for this long, it was the least Gale could do in return. Not that he had any strong attachment to the guy (especially this one, the one from another timeline), but he had to repay Lior's kindness in some manner. Moreso since she played along with Aymeric's prank on the dragoon.
So he would eventually go to Fayren, with Druddigon and Delphox in tow helping him carry the food he made. It was... a lot... but Gale had spent quite some time in the kitchen and cooking. "Quite some time" translated into days, actually, but it's a good pastime and it meant keeping all the Pokemon fed.
Once he got to the cottage, he looked over his shoulder at Druddigon and Arden before adjusting the containers in his own arms so he could knock on the door with the back of his hand. Hopefully she was in, otherwise he'd have to either leave the food here with a note or carry it all back to Nova.]

No, no. It's alright. They've been at my coat all morning. [ Which means the most reasonable action is to take his coat off and leave it on the floor. Farewell sweet coat for now it is the perfect pouncing material for Litleo. ] It is a small price to pay for one less piece of furniture being prey.
no subject
I can repair it later, it's fine.
[He offered without thinking really. He still felt odd about Aymeric being around, even moreso now in this situation, but that was less on Aymeric and Gale's confused feelings and more on the Pokemon situation.]
I... made some food for the Pokemon. Perhaps that may help calm them down?
no subject
My apologies. ( She mutters to Aymeric before turning to Gale again, bouncing the Cubone on her hip all the while to try and calm it. )
Oh, that would be wonderful, actually! If we can get them outside, that might be even better.
no subject
It's quite alright. It's only a coat.
[ As much as he owed Lior for allowing him to stay there while he helped out what was effectively a disaster. Seems a gible has decided that the coat is also a good play toy. Farewell coat, he knew you well. ]
If we are to move them all out might we trouble you for assistance? I fear we'd be at this all day otherwise.
no subject
Ah, of course. [He looked to Druddigon.] Would you be so kind?
[Druddigon gave another sassy eye roll before it started to gently scoop up some of the Pokemon. Gale popped open a food container and handed it to Delphox while nodding to the door. Maybe the scent of food would help lure some of them out?
Meanwhile Gale looked at the coat again with Gible and Litleo. He kneeled down and picked up the coat, scooping up the two Pokemon with it, giving them an extra bounce for fun. He glanced around the room, wondering where the hells Estinien was in all of this. The least he could do is help out here.]
Come on out. We've food outside if you're hungry.
[Maybe some of them would cooperate if he said it. He hoped.]
no subject
For whatever it is worth, save for the crying Cubone, Lioriley's own Pokemon seem to either already be outside, or are easily persuaded toward the door at the mere mention of food. They act as if they're starved (they are not). She starts trying to usher the others with her free hand, only truly having difficulty in getting the diglett out of her indoor garden before it uproots half of her work. Once outside, she continues trying to soothe the wailing Cubone - he's since started to calm, but the chaos seems to be getting to him.
Relatable. )
no subject
The unfortunate part is Siren, who comes out only to make a frustrated growl at the one offending fire pokemon. Aymeric picks up the lillipup who had been trying to dig through the floor. ]
Come now, the floor is not going to provide nourishment.
[ He is beaten out of the door by the local charmeleon being chased out by his own primarina chasing him out. Fury, help him. This must be why people drink. He sets lillipup outside, takes a second to make sure Siren isn't fighting anything and just
Sighs. ]
I thought fighting with sword in hand to wear a person out. This may surpass that.
no subject
Delphox sits on the ground to offer the smaller Pokemon the food it carried, while Gale briefly stepped inside to grab a couple extra containers. After he opened them and set them down with Delphox, he looked at Lioriley and Aymeric with a quiet laugh.]
Seems cavalry arrived not a moment too soon. What in the world got into them?
no subject
Ah - ( A realization. She bites her lip gently. ) They are worried, I think. Or at least startled by the absence of their trainer. ( She looks to Aymeric. Maybe he would be more suitable to tell him about Estinien leaving, given their relationship. )
no subject
Ah, Estinien... [ His ever stubborn and occasionally ill-fated friend. Aymeric looks to Lioriley for a moment, considering who it would be easier to hear it from. It was a silly thought. Who else knew the dragoon and his habits better than the man who spent a decade dealing with them? ]
Twas good to see him. Selfishly I wish he were still here. [ Not because taking care of the pokemon was exhausting. He simply missed his companion. He leans his head back to rest against the house as he turns his attention to Gale. ] He is no longer here. He has returned to Eorzea.
no subject
[Suddenly the way the Pokemon were acting made sense. It did only seem like a certain number of them were the ones acting up, so they must have been the ones Estinien caught.]
My sympathies to you both. I did not expect that one could be sent home so quickly.
[He knew from the archives that people could be sent home without warning, but it seemed so soon. Since these two were the only real friends Estinien had, it must be rough that he's suddenly gone. Gale, meanwhile, had no idea what to think. That Estinien was a stranger to him, so he felt no real attachment or fondness for. He remembers their journey to the Churning Mists, but this Estinien didn't. It was probably for the better that they barely spoke.]
At least we know he cannot cause any trouble without us. [That was a silver lining, right?] ... but, should either of you require assistance of any kind, I... I am a call away.
[It was a genuine offer, albeit somewhat of an awkward one for Gale. Now he and Aymeric were the only ones of Eorzea, and at least Aymeric recognized him. Despite his conflicting issues, does this mean that they should try to stick together more here in Genessia? He wasn't sure. Not that he would know how to bring up such a suggestion if he wanted to.]
no subject
'Tis unpleasant to see a friend go, but at the very least we know that he is home. ( She says with a small, dismissive wave of her hand, not wanting to vocalize her true displeasure - especially in front of people that actually hailed from the same world and (so far as she knew) called him a friend. By contrast, she had less reason to be so visibly upset about it.
So she smiles, both in reply to the offer of assistance and to try and make the mood less glum. )
That is very kind of you, Gale. Though it would seem you have already helped us a great deal. ( A small nod to the pokemon around them. She chuckles. ) Of course you both are always welcome here, and I truly would not mind the company. ( There it is. )
no subject
Estinien shall be fine, of that I'm certain. [ Not that it doesn't hurt to be left behind but when ones best friend is the Azure Dragoon, hunting dragons through the lands it's hardly the first time he's been left behind. ]
A much appreciated offer. [ He chuckles as siren plops his head down into his lap. Ah of course, how could he forget to give him headpats? ] I am here to assist so long as you have need of me.
[ Or forever, you know. Whichever. ]
no subject
He almost let himself be absorbed by conflicting feelings and snapped back into reality. He smiled weakly, looking down at the Pokemon around them.]
I am happy to aid however I can. [He pauses.] But I would not wish to impose.
[Even though she blatantly said they were welcome, he couldn't help but feel that sense of awkwardness... for a variety of reasons. But, well, it's not like she was offering them to move in, right? Helping isn't imposing, right?]
no subject
Regardless, I am glad you both arrived when you did. I may have been overwhelmed otherwise. ( And it's not like she could turn the Pokemon away, especially when Estinien explicitly gave them to her. Which was another thing she was tempted to question. Probably should leave it alone for now though. ) I do not have much to offer in the way of thanks, but I could make us some of the tea Aymeric brought me recently.
no subject
I believe you've done quite enough in having watched our wayward dragoon. Mayhaps take the moment to relax. [ Which is his own subtle attempt to say he'll go take care of it. Much as he enjoys the company the moment to himself might be helpful. ] I would say the day has been busy enough that you deserve a respite.
no subject
No thanks are necessary, truly. But I do agree with Aymeric. If I may, I can brew the tea in your stead. The both of you could use the moment's respite now that the worst of the storm is passed.
[At least, he hopes the worst is past, but the Pokemon do seem content with his offering for the moment. Again, he was quiet for a moment.]
I could prepare dinner as well, if it suit you.
no subject
When they both seem to insist she not do much in the way of thanking them, she just kind of... stares? Confused and slightly alarmed. She starts to stand despite either of them. )
No, no, it is fine. I can -- you do not have to -- ( WHAT IS HAPPENING. )
no subject
Please, sit and enjoy the peace. I shall be back momentarily. [ And there it is. He doesn't wait for further commentary, discussion of who should be doing what. A kitchen is a kitchen and it wasn't as if he didn't know his way around one. He's heading inside to go get that tea started. ]
no subject
H-Hey, wait! I said I would do it!
[He had half a mind to make that bloody lord commander sit down himself but he just lets his arm fall to his side, cocking his head as he planted his hand on his hips. Screw it. Fine. He can make the tea. FINE. Gale can start on dinner when he's done!]
And here I thought he allowed for people to interject.
[Rude. Gale decided to turn his gaze to the poor garden before his eyes fell back on Lior.]
Then until he is done with the tea and I am free to start dinner, I can offer mine help in the gardens instead.
no subject
( flustered, leylines brighter than normal, she looks to Gale again, only seeing Aymeric's receding form in her periphery.)
I do not suspect I have the option to decline.( so yeah... Go ahead. ) Is stubbornness an Eorzean trait?
no subject
You could say that. T'is stubbornness or simply an eagerness to please. But I suppose I know where much of the mentality stems from.
[He didn't exactly want to bore her with the details about the Calamity. He wasn't entirely up on the details of the event himself, but he also had a tendency of spacing out when people began to talk too much around him. But he looked back in the direction Aymeric left, his brow furrowing.]
Him, on the other hand... Mr. Lord Commander.. A bloody Ishgardian like him is giving me whiplash. I cannot wrap my head around how polite he is compared to the other bloody nobles.
[Whoops, his disdain for Ishgard is slipping.]
no subject
Lord Commander. ( Huh. Who would have guessed. Well, she might have, though she was leaning more toward the nobleman aspect of it. Aymeric carried himself in a manner befitting people of status; though he was significantly nicer as well. ) Seems we have been blessed to have him here instead of them, in that case.
no subject
... aye. There is much that surrounds Ishgard. I am not certain how he is able to maintain himself in that position when the whole Holy See relies on him.
[While the archbishop sits around doing nothing but preaching "dragons are bad, Ishgard is good" or whatever nonsense. Gale's disdain almost wants to believe that Aymeric's kindness is a facade. He quietly laughed.]
Perhaps here, the worst danger he'll involve himself in is just a tussle with Pokemon. He attempted to join myself and Estinien once. That pretty face of his is ill suited for what we were doing.
no subject
Unfortunately, I fear I am not in the ideal position to provide my insight on that. Mayhaps you could... inform me of a few details later. I admit you have my curiosity now.
( She has a lot of questions. ) Pray tell what his physical appearance might have to do with... whatever you two were doing?
