1st Heist-- Video
[Roman has never been kidnapped, but he's pretty sure this isn't how it's supposed to work. He imagined something more like throwing a bag over the victim's head and keeping them in a basement room, maybe sending a finger or an earlobe with a list of demands. Not putting them in a comfortable hammock and sending them off into town with a reassuring note and a stack of money. Not that he's complaining, mind you. Well-- he is complaining, because a pleasant kidnapping is still a kidnapping and that is not the sort of thing that he tolerates, but at least he still has all his fingers. He can appreciate that.
He spends most of the day exploring the cities and trying to avoid attention. He chafes at every missed opportunity for argument and it's a conscious effort to stroll instead of swagger, but he shouldn't make a scene until he has a better grasp on his situation. It's a good call; judging by the sub-archway to Vale, he's got company here.
Eventually he backtracks to the bay to make a video post. Normally he'd make a strong impression, but until he knows who else from Remnant is here, he should resist that urge. If it's one of the policemen or the Beacon brats, they might try to take him in. He doesn't have backup here. He could probably escape, but he hasn't risen to the top of Vale's underworld by relying on 'probably.' His best chance is to play the hapless newcomer so he can make them out to be the villains if they try anything.]
Hello, Genessia! Roman Torchwick here.
[He gives a little wave.]
I'm kind of getting the 'what' here, as far as the kidnapping and the city structure and all, but what I'm really curious about is why. Someone must have spent a loooot of time and money to break the laws of nature and bring us here. You'd think they'd want some kind of return on that investment, but... [He looks out toward the city, then turns back to the camera and shrugs.] ...not really seeing it, you know?
So! Think they're keeping us out of the picture so they can conquer our home worlds? Maybe they're fattening us up to eat? Throw me your wildest, weirdest theories, people.
[He clicks off the feed. He doubts anyone has a good answer, but it'll be entertaining and it should let him know who he's dealing with.]

But do be careful. Cinder and her little brats are here as well as the team of the most annoying ad troublesome girls in all of the Kingdoms.
[ It's nice to have something easily carried about that she can use to type or actually communicate rather than hand signals, gestures and other things.]

[That was a bit more alarmed than he intended, but he wasn't expecting her. She was with him in Vale just this morning. Still, he recovers quickly.]
So they got you too, huh? I'd say I'm sorry to hear it, but you know I'm too selfish for that. Have the kids been making trouble for you?
[He doesn't specify if he means Cinder's minions or the Beacon girls. Hard to say which is worse, really.]

They did indeed capture me. I arrived here and Mercury was here so I'm leaving the listening in on their boring conversations to him. That idiot is far too worried about his cover being blown. But it seems others have arrived and one surprising fellow:
Our own Adam has graced us. [While typing these things out, she's already making her way towards the bay or were she at least believes he might be.]

What a disappointing lack of creativity.

Psst! Just wondering, how old is Pidonus supposed to look?
Early twenties.
Oh good, he might take her seriously. Thanks!

I'll take a stab at it. Picture a human zoo. One inter-dimensional being cannot stand to observe each variety of life on its own. Much like one who wishes to eat all the bits of his meal at once, so as to better vary his palette. Thus, it conspires to bring us all together, and watch as our colors, once separate and peaceful, blend together into something more pleasing to it.
I've yet to see either the owner or the observers, however. There may not be any pecuniary aspect whatever!

I hope there's money involved. It would be bad enough to be a zoo animal, but if that's what we are, I'd like to think our experiences are worth something.

"Ectoplasm is looking miiiighty solid these days."
But hey, if he wanted to claim he was a ghost that was his business. Roman didn't discriminate against liars-- as long as they were entertaining liars, at least.
"Not the biggest fan of the folks back home, I take it?"

[Video; Private] I knew i forgot something
So you've finally shown up. Good. We have work to do.

He sighs and clicks on the feed, spreading his palms.]
What, not even a 'how are you doing, Roman?' or a 'glad you could join us, Roman?' You really know how to make a man feel appreciated.

[Because there were enough problems as there is back there without having someone trying to take over the world added on to it.]
But I guess we wouldn't know the answer either way.

[He's flippant. There's only one person he would've worried about and she's already here, so why should he care what happens to Remnant?]

Those are pretty outlandish guesses at the reasons why we are here. But as for the amount of money, if someone were to pull this off it would cost billions of pounds and I don't think you'd be able to break the laws of nature just by spending money. Maybe with supernatural abilities like on television is more likely.
Video
[He shrugs. He can roll with it.]
Still seems like a cop-out answer. I asked for wild and weird, didn't I?

My guess is that it's like an interdimensional sinkhole. People fall in, and those pods just "catch" us so that the humans don't spontaneously explode or something.
[You DID say wild and weird, after all.]
Is spontaneous combustion a common problem in your world?

Welp, this is going to end well
Yyyyyyyyyyup. He's really in need of a new foot stool, y'know.
He'll have to work out a timeshare with Cinder.
He'll trade Cinder some Prinnies.
Pretty sure Mercury and Emerald will revolt if they have to work with Prinnies
At least Prinnies are more obedient than Roman.

After you, kid! Unless you're too busy having fun with your little schoolgirl friends.
