1st Heist-- Video

[Roman has never been kidnapped, but he's pretty sure this isn't how it's supposed to work. He imagined something more like throwing a bag over the victim's head and keeping them in a basement room, maybe sending a finger or an earlobe with a list of demands. Not putting them in a comfortable hammock and sending them off into town with a reassuring note and a stack of money. Not that he's complaining, mind you. Well-- he is complaining, because a pleasant kidnapping is still a kidnapping and that is not the sort of thing that he tolerates, but at least he still has all his fingers. He can appreciate that.

He spends most of the day exploring the cities and trying to avoid attention. He chafes at every missed opportunity for argument and it's a conscious effort to stroll instead of swagger, but he shouldn't make a scene until he has a better grasp on his situation. It's a good call; judging by the sub-archway to Vale, he's got company here.

Eventually he backtracks to the bay to make a video post. Normally he'd make a strong impression, but until he knows who else from Remnant is here, he should resist that urge. If it's one of the policemen or the Beacon brats, they might try to take him in. He doesn't have backup here. He could probably escape, but he hasn't risen to the top of Vale's underworld by relying on 'probably.' His best chance is to play the hapless newcomer so he can make them out to be the villains if they try anything.]

Hello, Genessia! Roman Torchwick here.

[He gives a little wave.]

I'm kind of getting the 'what' here, as far as the kidnapping and the city structure and all, but what I'm really curious about is why. Someone must have spent a loooot of time and money to break the laws of nature and bring us here. You'd think they'd want some kind of return on that investment, but... [He looks out toward the city, then turns back to the camera and shrugs.] ...not really seeing it, you know?

So! Think they're keeping us out of the picture so they can conquer our home worlds? Maybe they're fattening us up to eat? Throw me your wildest, weirdest theories, people.

[He clicks off the feed. He doubts anyone has a good answer, but it'll be entertaining and it should let him know who he's dealing with.]
