[ On waking in the pod, Lucy was admittedly very.. disoriented. It wasn't her apartment back home OR in that other world she'd been in for a year. MOreover, Natsu wasn't with her like usual. Or Levy, or Erza. But maybe they'd gone to scout ahead? ]

[ No, she was sure Natsu would have waited. After looking over the items left with her and familiarizing herself with the new equipment (thankfully she was familiar enough with a thing like that so it didn't take long for her to understand), she slipped out of the pod, searching around the Bay first, before heading out to the city.

Boy did she hope her friends were here somewhere. One can find Lucy exploring/scouting around not far from the Bay, her videophone in hand. ]

[ It isn't long after she's digested all the information she was given before she fussed with the videophone enough to turn it on to broadcast a question. ]

Hi - I'm new here, and I'm looking for some friends of mine. I'm not sure if they're here, but they all have the symbol of our guild on their body - it looks like this. Though it isn't always on the hand. But if you see anyone with a tattoo matching that description, please let me know. My name is Lucy; Lucy Heartfilia, from Fairy Tail.

Well I can't say I know any of your friends, but if they're anything like mine they'll start showing up sooner or later. Pretty much all my friends from school ended up here within a couple weeks.

[Oh, Right introductions.]

Nice to meet you Lucy, I'm Ruby Rose, but just Ruby is fine.

I hope you're right, Ruby. We've been pretty inseparable back home, and in that other place.. [ Nah, she had to believe that they would show up to. Something else occurs to her though, and she studies the girl curiously. ]

I don't mean to pry, but was something wrong? You were in a pretty big hurry there - i'm not keeping you from something am I?

Give it a bit of time. I'm sure they'll be right behind you.

[The power of positive thinking, right?

She'll take a nervous step back though when Lucy starts to look her over. She wasn't particularly in a hurry, but her mind was certainly somewhere else. She had still had no idea where her sister was and it had nearly been two weeks since she last saw her.]

N-no you aren't keeping me from anything. ...Nothing that's going to sorted out right away anyways.

[She's not sure she wants to drop her missing sister issue on Lucy right away. She just arrived after all and Ruby already had plenty of people on the lookout.]

[ Lucy smiled absently, nodding. Really she could understand why Ruby would be reluctant to tell her if there was something wrong - she didn't know Lucy from a hole in the ground, after all. She just hoped there wasn't anything wrong. ]

If you're sure..? I'm a Fairy Tail wizard, so it's kind of our job to help out people in need.

[ But she'll let it drop there since she didn't want to push a potential new friend. ]

How long have you been here, Ruby?

[She kicked at the ground nervously. It's not that she didn't want to tell Lucy, she just didn't want to dump all her problems on her right on the get go.

...Wait she's a wizard?]

...Wait, you're a wizard? Like Harry?

[Ruby she has no idea who Harry is.

Oh look a topic change, how nice!]

How long? Uhm, well just about two months now.

[ You've lost her, Ruby, care to provide a map and compass? ]

Um... well, I don't know, who's Harry? He might practice a different kind of magic from me.

Two months.. have you ever heard of a group called the Initiative? Or United Earth?

[She doesn't carry a map or compass, but she does have one of Harry's fliers handy. She'll reach into her bag to grab it and give it to Lucy.]

He's the guardian of Everglade, one of the sub cities here. I'm pretty sure he's been around the longest.

[Okay. Now she's lost.]

The Who? and the United What?

[ Lucy took hold of the flier, skimming it curiously. ]

Hm... I think he must study a different kind of magic. I specialize in Celestial Spirit magic. My other friends from our guild specialize in different branches of magic too.

So he's been here the longest? [ So Harry must be the go-to person about this place. She carefully filed that information away, smiling weakly at the confusion. ]

That's.. probably a no. The Initiative and the United Earth were both factions in the world we - my friends and I - were from before we were brought here. We were there for a little over a year, after it took us away from our native homeworld, Earthland.

[Celestial Magic? other branches of magic? She is so confused right now.]

Ooooooh, Okay.

So is there some sort of big magical tree in your world where you go and pick up these branches?

[She'll shrug at that.]

As far as I know he is, I don't know anyone that's been here longer.

[That's a whole lot of world hopping there.]

So got taken from your world and brought to another one and now you've been taken from there and brought here? Wow.

[She actually got that all on her own!]

[ .... what? ]

O-oh! That's... that's not what I mean by branch of magic. I mean.. it's.. not a -literal- branch. [ She doesn't giggle, but smile does warm a bit. ]

I know it's different for a lot of people who use magic, but where I'm from, 'practicing magic' is more specific. There's Ice Make magic, Dragonslayer magic, Solid Script Magic, Requip magic, .. so on and so on.

[ It'd take forever to list them all, and she hadn't even seen all the types of magic out there. She focuses on the latter question, nodding. Good girl Ruby, got it in one! ]

There was a bit of back and forth among us all there, but yeah. It's a lot more peaceful here than in Exsilium [ Or even back home ] or ..at least it seems to be. The atmosphere's all different for a place in the middle of a war, if there is one.

Oh, so there's no magic tree? Well that's kind of lame, but all the different types of magic sound really cool!

[She's very proud of herself for that.]

As far as I know there isn't a war going on here. A handful of crazy, creepy people that you have to watch out for, but no outright war.

[ Well there's the holy tree on Tenroujima but... Lucy focuses on the latter statement instead, bemused by the proud tone. ]

Creepy people? ... [ Greeat. ] There...aren't any vampires, are there?

[ She ran afoul of a vampire once, and she really didn't want to repeat that. ] Who should I watch out for?

Vampires? I haven't seen any yet, but I imagine there could be some around.

There's a Skeleton guy named Skeletor, A big muscly guy named Bison, a jerk who only really texts people who goes by M and apparently there's a mad scientist but I haven't seen him around yet.

Steer clear of those guys and you should be good.

That's just great..

[ Regarding the vampires that is. She eyes Ruby oddly, because of that list, the person who sends texts doesn't really sound like something to be wary of. ]

I'm not sure I want to know, but why is the texting guy even in that list?

Honestly? I'd say he's the worst one on the list so far.

[And oddly enough, she seems pretty serious about it.]

We have next to no information on the guy because he never shows his face, but somehow he seems to know what everyone around here is up to.

[There's a pause, then a sigh.]

...About a month ago he kidnapped and tried to drown me... And he blew up someones house on Christmas.

[ Not showing his face isn't a big thing to her - Zeref hated to use video too. But what comes after .. JEEZUS man, what the heck!? ]

WHAT? What kind of a maniac is this guy? I thought when you said he just texts' everyone it's something annoying but harmless, like 'Hey your feet smell' or something! Not... THAT.

Oh, you have no idea how much I wish it was just that! He wouldn't be on the list if it was something simple like that. You could just find that out for yourself.

...I honestly don't know what his deal is though, he made the whole thing out to be some sort of game.

...It was really messed up.

[She still didn't really want to think about it, but well, she had to at least warn Lucy about the guy.]

I think I'll pass if I can help it..! [ Ahahaha haha... h e h.. she sighs faintly. ]

That's no good. [ And Zeref... but he wasn't here. ~~Yet~~ ]

I'm really sorry you had to go through that, Ruby. I'll be careful if I come across that guy.

So... What's the story with those other two. The skeleton and the other ...?

Well I hope that you don't have to end up meeting with that guy. ...Well it'd actually be great if no one had to.

[She'll smile brightly, and it only looks a little forced.]

What's important is that everything is fine right now, right? I have some great who managed to pull me out of that jam.

[She just wishes she knew where one of them was right now.]

I'm not sure they're story but honestly they all seem to be big jerks with dreams of world domination. At least that's what they keep going on about.

I hope so too. [ She smiled back, still a little worried. ] Yeah? I'm glad for that then. I don't know if the rules on death apply here the way they did in that other place but I wouldn't want anyone to find out either.

[ She frowns slightly. ] Jerks with dreams of world domination.. I wish I could say it was the first time I've run into the type. It seems there's one on every world.

Uhmm... I don't know for sure if they're any different here either. I heard someone mention something about resurrections once, but I don't know if that's something we should count on.

[There's a bit of a sigh.]

Yeah, why the heck does this place have three!? One is way more than enough.

Yeah, let's... try to avoid having to figure out the concept of resurrections. [ Shiver grimaces slightly, sympathizing with the suckiness of not one, but THREE megalomaniacs. And possibly even more than that. ]

Tell me about it. But these City Guardians I heard about must be keeping them in check relatively well, or it'd be total anarchy here. [ A shake of her head. ]

Ah, why don't we talk about something less unpleasant?

Something less unpleasant? Well the City Guardians is a good place to start.

I've met two of them and they seem pretty great so far. Captain Hammer and Harry work pretty hard to keep things under control in the cities they're watching over.

The one in Attleton is kind of a total jerk but I like to think that his heart is in the right place.

...And honestly I have never met the one from Fayren.

[ She grimaces slightly. Maaaaaaaaybe they should stay out of Attleton - Natsu doesn't have a whole lot of patience for jerks in power. Or period. Odds are they're going to end up in Attleton for sure at some point. ]

I've heard about the City Guardians.. are they all wizards like Harry too?

As far as I know Harry's the only wizard out of them. Captain Hanmer's a superhero. ...And I'm not sure about the other two.

[Ruby is starting to feel like she should pay more attention to things around here.]
