Weiss put her hand out to indicate she didn't want the second dessert. "No thanks," she said quietly to the offer. She wasn't the type of person to eat much and one was more than enough for her, nor was she the type of person to want that much chocolate in a single dish. She was well aware that it was a favorite of many people, but she much preferred the lighter flavor of fruit dishes.
"Oh, I do trust them. Believe me. However, I do have limited staff so I'm not about to force them to do all the work while I sit here all night and enjoy myself. I may look a little tired, but it isn't as if I don't enjoy this type of thing."
It was true, she did love organizing events and planning things. It was a good quality for her to have, even when it came to being a huntress but especially when it came to her company. Weiss gives a little smile.
"I really love planning and organizing events. I don't know if you've been here long enough, but I also was the person who put on the winter party in December and the potluck-style block party last summer. I think it's important to bring everyone together to celebrate, even if we don't all come from the same backgrounds- or perhaps because we don't."
no subject
"Hmm....no I wasn't here for those events. I only arrived a couple months ago or so, nowhere near time for such things. Though that does mean you've been here for a long time haven't you? In such a strange world as this, I'm surprised nothing too crazy has really happened. Even the winds here are different than at home. They don't have the same tone."

She was proud of Armin and it showed in her tone of voice. Even if she was a little uncertain when she first hired him, mostly because he wasn't hip to many modern things like computers and whatnot, but he'd proved himself to be rather valuable and trustworthy. And.. more than capable of still standing up to Weiss when she was going overboard without being rude, which was also important.
"I've been here for a little over a year and two months. There have been some incredibly crazy things that have happened in the past, though, and believe me you would be happy to know that things haven't been that insane. The whole of Genessia almost got burned to the ground after Lucifer blew up a hospital, for example. At one point, I think some of the buildings were turned into cheese too, but I tried to avoid the area during that time. That amount of cheese sitting out in the sun doesn't smell pleasant."

Aya's still eating away at the hazelnut chocolate cup, quite politely too despite her apparent tendencies of acting quickly. Though the intricacies of her yukata probably help with that. "Hm...Well I suppose you can only do so much, especially considering the...accusations against you from just a little while ago with that Tortsick guy. Let's hope things don't get too increasingly crazy from here on."
no subject
Fortunately for Weiss, she was busy at that time with her own dealings. Someone else could deal with the cheese.
"I think for the most part, people are willing to look past that. Torchwick's ploy may have fanned the fire a little, but it didn't last. Fortunately, people here are smarter than he thought."
no subject
Aya's pretty glad she's not had to deal with whatever was going on either...though it did beg a question. "How often do things like this happen? And has any happened to Genessia City itself?" A tengu's gotta be prepared to keep her business alive and not a smoldering wreck.
"Well it's good that you're optimistic about it, and I do think you're right. But, keep in mind you humans can be surprisingly fickle creatures sometimes. There's ways to get you all to bite the hand that feeds you a lot faster than you think."
no subject
Honestly, with some of the things she's heard and her experience in her own world, she doesn't really think that whole 'peaceful life' thing people talk about is an actual reality anywhere. Which is OK with her, she enjoys what she does, but it can be a little disheartening when sometimes you just want things to be safe for a little while.
Weiss shrugged, shaking her head. "I think the answer to that question is a little difficult without a frame of reference. It doesn't seem irregularly frequent to me, but some of the incidences here are caused by people from my world to begin with, particularly recently with the problems with Torchwick. Every couple of months seems to be the case, but that seems a little slow compared to back home to me, so I wouldn't say 'often.' As for Genessia City itself, it seems to be fairly central for problems until recently."
Weiss rolled her eyes at the last comment. "I'd never call that a solely human trait."
no subject
"So...then what you're saying is that people from your world are troublemakers." Aya's smirking slightly, a playful look. "Well perhaps it could help if while researching how to escape the foundation could also research ways to prevent or expedite the recovery of incidents?"
Aya's laughing at WEiss' last comment in return. "Oh no. It's definitely not. But you humans are ones to do it so quickly. It's an amusing trait of yours to jump headlong into the situation. Perhaps because you don't live as long."
no subject
Well, maybe that was a bad example, considering what happened to Tukson's Book Trade. They still never caught the people who did that...
"Maybe not, but I'd rather live a short and fulfilling life than the alternative."
no subject
"And that's why you humans are amusing and interesting. You have such short lives and are willing to try to live them out as best you can as much as you can. Most youkai tend to settle into as much of a routine as possible." She shrugs. "Not much else to do when you've got thousands of years to live. Though the maid seems content to do as her mistress wants...part of being a human under a vampire though I guess. She seems to have stopped really aging too...though I guess most white-haired humans have stopped signs of development."
no subject
"If that were true, then humans wouldn't have been able to continue innovating through generations. Perhaps youkai simply need to find a way to keep themselves motivated to find new ways to make life exciting. --And for your information, that has nothing to do with why my hair is white."
no subject
"And I dunno about that, Miss Schnee. The other maid I was talking about had white hair and she's a perfectly elegant maid who's a little lacking on development. And you're the second white-haired person I've seen so it seems to be following a trait."
no subject
Weiss scoffed at the accusation that she was done developing or underdeveloped. She's honestly not even sure what 'lacking on development' is supposed to mean.
"You do realize I'm only 18, right? I'm not done developing, even if I'm adult enough to function professionally and maturely." When she needs to, at least.
no subject
Well, Aya's certainly not going to comment on it here. She'd rather keep being able to attend these parties if she could.
"Hm...well I suppose it's true that 18 is at the upper level of developing. At least from the outside of Gensokyo that we hear of, people still are considered young and not quite adults even as old as their 20s."
