Episode 1: Arriving with a Yang! [Video]

The feed pops open to show the face of a rather fetching blonde girl with lilac eyes as she grins at the camera while standing next to the hologram of Weiss. "Yo Weiss! I'd rather you were here in person to get me instead of just a hologram, but I'll take what I can get here." She seems pretty optimistic despite being in a foreign world. Though having a familiar face like Weiss certainly makes it a lot easier as she's still looking around suspiciously.

"So...anyone know of a place where a girl can get a strawberry sunrise? And don't forget the umbrella."

Well Yang's got a leg up on others in knowing Weiss, but it's the latter comment she was addressing.

"A Strawberry Sunrise? Is that a drink of some kind?"

One never knows around here.

"Yup! It's a tasty one too. Though you can't forget the little paper umbrellas they give you. They're pretty cute."

Also alcoholic, but she doesn't need to say that.

"It sounds adorable. I'm not sure if where they would sell something like that though. If they're bottle drinks then maybe in a supermarket, or you could try one of Genessia or Nova City's restaurants." Lucy actually hadn't gone exploring too much in the other cities, aside from Fayren and Genessia though.

"Well...normally I'd just go to a bar for them. Do you know where the nearest bar to the...Bay was it, is?"

"Ah, that's where you are? Um... I'm not really sure where the bars are. I've avoided them myself; I can't really hold my alcohol." At least she's a happy drunk though! "Let's see... from the Bay... Oh! There should actually be one about a block away from the cafe - you can't miss it. Just head straight until you get to the cafe, and then hang a right."

Had she left, only to return again? She seemed to have something of a habit of doing so...

Well if she's back, she doesn't recall leaving in the first place.

Which wasn't very helpful, but he barely understood how someone could leave and come back without any memories of this place. That wasn't enough to explain it.

"I do...not really know you sorry." She says after a few moments of trying to figure out if she recalls mister dark-haired and scarred. "Mind filling me in, buddy?"

Don't try looking to her about it. Even if she did remember, which she doesn't, trying to figure out something like that was beyond her.

His scar itches. He resists the urge to scratch it, rubbing the back of his head instead.

"It would probably be best if someone else filled you in first. Has Weiss contacted you yet?"

"Well at least you got the message."

That's good that she doesn't have to explain anything like that. "Stay where you are, I'll come get you." Weiss seems like she's a little exasperated with this. It's not Yang's fault though. Frankly, she's tired of going through this over and over again with people she knows, but at least this time she.. has an idea that might at least spice it up.

Neptune did teach her how to drive, after all. It can't be that different, and she knows for a fact that Yang will feel better about being plopped into a strange land if there's a motorcycle involved.

Unfortunately, the motorcycle.. never actually makes it to Yang. In fact, Weiss switched the video to audio after she said she would come get her, so in a minute or so, Yang would be able to hear five consecutive things:

1. The revving of a motorcycle.
2. Screeching tires.
3. A very loud crashing sound.
4. Something that sounded like water spraying?
5. Weiss letting out a very girly scream.

Sorry about your wheels, Yang. You.. might want to get those fixed at some point.

"Hey, Weiss! Nice to see you're actually here." And not like... just some weird hologram left behind or something. She does have to wonder why Weiss seems so stressed out. Maybe she caught her at a bad time?

She does quirk an eyebrow at the sounds coming from her communicator, time spent on her beloved bike easily letting her know Weiss just tried something with a bike. She should at least show her concern over the matter as it sounds pretty bad.

"Weiss...is the bike okay?"

A distinctive "Hey!" can be heard after Yang asks if the bike is okay. Give her a minute to get out of the water before her device gets fried.

"Well... I was going to pick you up, but as it turns out, driving a car is nothing like driving a motorcycle."

Mostly she didn't expect it to accelerate so quickly. The rest she didn't even get to finding out about. Though Yang might find it suspect that Weiss even knows how to drive a car based on that statement... Somewhere in the distance, a tiny little yapping can be heard from Weiss's window.

Grinning sheepishly, the blonde lets out a little chuckle. "Well I figured you'd be fine if you crashed so soon. Your aura would absorb most of the damage."

She does have to sigh and shake her head at the second thing to come out of Weiss' mouth. "Why would you think driving a car is like driving a motorcycle? They're two separate beasts. That's like saying owning a dog is like owning a cat."

Speaking of animals, she does tilt her head at the faint yapping. "...Did Zwei end up here as well or something? Or do you have a neighbor with a dog?"

"It is with Blake's kittens," Weiss grumbled before she could stop herself. The needy little baby cats were more attention-seeking and much louder than she thought Frost, her dog, ever was. Weiss got an earful for bringing home a dog, but somehow Blake bringing home a miniature herd of kittens was acceptable. Needless to say, the bitter tone was obvious.

"That's Frost. He's my dog. I've.. been here much longer than you have, Yang. Quick summary: I have a dog, a house, have established Schnee Company in multiple cities, a boyfriend who I'm actually thinking of asking to move in and if you, Blake, and Ruby don't agree I'm considering moving out if he says yes, time is stopped back home, and this is the third version of you that's been here so I'm a little tired of going over this to you."

She may have gotten her cranky levels up after crashing a motorcycle, honestly.

"As for the motorcycle, Neptune taught me how to drive when he was here and I figured you'd want to have something comforting. I'll get it fixed, I already texted my assistant."

The oddly-dressed blonde woman on the other side of the screen for this response looks a little... Scared, perhaps?

That'd mostly be because of the fact that what little Pidonus had seen of Weiss and those who knew her indicated that being intimidated was a very smart start point.

"Quickly describe the drink, and I might know who's got it under a different name. The umbrellas could be the hard part, though..."

Pidonus didn't usually pay attention to umbrellas. If that lack of attention wound up with her beaten up or something...

She looks a bit concerned that the other girl seems scared. "Hey. You okay over there?" Yang's not a bad girl...as long as you don't damage her hair.


"Ah well a strawberry sunrise is made of creme de fraises, orange juice, and grenadine."

Pidonus quickly recovers her confidence. "I'm just fine! Hrm. I think a few places around Genessia should be good for that..."

This... Spoke of opportunity, now that Pidonus thought about it. As long as she didn't get the crap beaten out of her.

Armin doesn't respond to the video, but Yang will see him as she and Weiss approach their house - dressed in a semi-formal outfit that bears a striking resemblance to a military uniform. He's talking to someone on the phone while at the same time supervising a repair crew working to fix the damage to the fire hydrant and the surrounding area. It's stopped spraying water, at the very least, and the repairs look well under control. The bike is propped up carefully, off to the side of the driveway.

Armin nods as the girls come closer, wrapping up his phone conversation as he moves forward to greet them. "...then I'll call you back tomorrow. Thank you. Good evening, ladies."

He immediately turns to Weiss. "Repairs here should be done within the next twenty minutes - then I'll take the bike into the shop. They think it should be almost good as new before the close of business Thursday. Insurance will pay for both, but there is a 15% deductible - I've covered that, I'll just bill you the receipts with the expense report this month."

And then he turns to Yang, much less formal. He smiles gently - almost shyly, a stark contrast to the confidence and competence of a moment ago - and offers his hand. "You must be Yang. It's nice to finally meet you. My name's Armin, I'm Weiss' assistant."

Yang raises an eyebrow at seeing several people in front of their house with a ruined fire hydrant and the motorcycle. After Armin speaks she looks the guy over taking good note of his military outfit.

"Nice to meet you. Good to know Weiss has good tastes in assistants." She greets back with a smile taking the proferred hand and squeezing.

"Thank you, Armin. There wasn't a problem with it not technically being my bike, was there?"

She hadn't exactly mentioned that part to Yang, but now that it was going to be better by Thursday anyway, there wasn't much sense in hiding it. It was good news, wasn't it?

"Of course I have good taste!" Weiss said it like she was offended it was even in question.

Armin nods and shakes her hand firmly. "Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you settle in." It was a genuine offer, though it was also simply what he did as both Weiss' friend and as part of the Schnee Company. He blinks at the unexpected complement, face reddening a little. "Th-thank you."

He turns back to Weiss, expression more ambivalent. "Actually, it is technically your bike - I had to get the deed transferred to you in order to get them to cover it. But since the previous owner had been released, and you had been keeping possession of it, it wasn't too difficult to do." That's close to an outright lie, of course though his confidence and professional tone never wavers - those things had made the transfer possible, but it was still a bureaucratic hell. And despite the last half hour he's spent on the phone, the transfer technically still hasn't happened yet. He'll be spending much of tonight going over and figuring out the necessary proofs and paperwork for the transfer.

"I can have the paperwork ready to transfer ownership back by the time the bike's out of the shop. It technically has to be a monetary transaction, when a release is not involved - but any amount will do." He glances between the two a moment, uncertain. "If that's your intention, anyway."

Yang's handshake is quite firm, maybe a little painful too due to her insane strength before she lets go with a grin. "Oh come on, Weiss. I just didn't expect you to go for a cute boy like this."

Yang raises an eyebrow as she listens to their interaction. "So...that was my bike you just crashed. What the hell, Weiss!?" She'd be madder than she currently was if it weren't for the fact that Weiss was paying for the repairs anyway. But that still meant she's out of a bike for even more time.
