To the residents of Fayren. In today's newspaper there was a story covering a declaration of war against the mages of Fayren. Rest assured that Guardian Satori and myself are aware of the situation and are currently investigating the matter to the fullest extent of our power and resources. Any information leading to the discovery and arrest of any member of "The Hands of Decay" should be directed toward the office of the Guardian. Should the information prove useful in the apprehension of these criminals, a reward can be expected.

Until such time as this organization has been brought to justice, however, I advise caution. Those with magical powers should not be alone in a public place, nor should you trust any charms, spells, or any assistance from those you do not trust with your life. It is possible that despite the alleged war on mages, that these criminals are capable of using magic themselves.

The situation is in hand, and this organization will be brought to justice swiftly. In the meantime, though caution is called for, please go about your lives as normally as possible. To show fear is to give these bullies what they want. Together, we will triumph.

I appreciate the help, however, given the unknown nature of the poison, it may be wise to have this Sayla carry a Pecha Berry with her. It is a berry from my world that can counteract all forms of poison when ingested, and is a highly popular strategy for Trainers to keep many on hand.

Actually, I was hoping you would accompany Charizard on patrols. You are far more perceptive of motives than he is, and I feel the two of you could compliment each other well.

I want to help as well. I've been living with Satori and Koishi since I arrived here, so I want to do what I can for them. I can't say whether a dragon's scales would repel their needles, but I can patrol from the skies and stay out of sight.

These "Hands of Decay" not only insult magic, but the elements themselves, and we take those matters seriously.

Offensively, I'm great at fighting both with and without weapons, as well as skilled with various forms of magic. Defensively, I'm able to use my own magic to produce shields, barriers, wards -- you name it, I'm capable of doing it... for the most part, anyway.

She does her best to be polite and helpful, but she can't keep a scowl off her face.] People lashing out at those with abilities that they fear, regardless of how or even whether those abilities are used. This is the same fight I've been in since I was a little girl.

I'll be glad to fight if I'm needed. But I can also offer my experience with these kinds of groups, if you want it.

[However, the message definitely was. Dairine had obvious reason to be concerned by the threat, less because of her own abilities -- she had survived plenty of attacks during her time as a wizard -- than the threat to Life over something so petty. This wasn't the kind of situation she was about to ignore.]

Do you think they'll really stick to Fayren residents, or should all magic users be on their guard?
