[ Ferris was a bright young woman. It didn't take her long to figure things out, with the pamphlet she was provided. Figuring out the videophone took a little longer, but when she did manage to cue up a recording, the face of a beautiful blonde woman showed on the display. Her face, on the other hand, showed little to no expression as she began to speak. ]

Prior to my arrival in this place, I traveled with a man. My partner, Ryner Lute. He is an unrepentant sex fiend who lures women of all ages into his clutches, and discards them with nary a thought. I must know if such a person is in this place, immediately.

[ Because he's her important friend and she'll tear the head off anyone who lays a finger on him. She spent a long time searching for him, refusing to believe he was dead - ]

More importantly, I also wish to know the location of the nearest dango shops. [ She's sure whatever shops there are here will be subpar to the Wynnit dango shops, but she was willing to have an open mind in the matter. ]

[ Action ]
[ Shortly after making her post, she resumed her search through the Bay, passing a brief glance into some of the pods, finding most empty. Most, save for one. The familiar figure sleeping away had her breath a quiet sigh of relief, reassured by his presence. He was all right. For a second her mind stole back to the last memory she had, when she finally found him after nearly desperatelu searching, the embrace, and his arms around her - she shook her head slightly. Enough of that. Time 0to greet him in the usual fashion. ]

Oi, Ryner. Wake up.

[ Yes Ryner, wake up to the sight of your favorite bully as she hefted her godkilling sword above her head, then started to swing it down at the pod he's sleeping in, not even giving him a chance to start to wake up. She was confident he would be awake and dodge the strike in time. It's cool. Incidentally anyone in the area are of course free to come across the pair. ]

[ ... that... is unexpected to hear. But you know, you can't really help who you care for. And that kind of power aside, she still stood by her initial statement. That he was a pervert! ... wait, no, that he was not a monster. ]

[ Well, no, not really, but it was enough for her. Perhaps they should move on from this topic then. ]

[ Yea, YOU've lazed about. Lazy one. She picked up the remaining boxes and plopped them down on his lap, clearly intending on him continuing to carry her goodies. ]

[SHe's taking this quite well. THen again she took it well even after the battle. What little he had a chance to talk to her that is.]

Yeah. Well at least I won't be going crazy anymore.

[He chuckles even if it comes out forced. But Ryner pauses when Ferris gets up and....unceremoniously drops the rest of the boxes in his lap.]

Wha- But I still have some of the dangos left on my end!

[ She's still processing. But Ferris is Ferris - she wasn't given to much in the way of outward reaction. The forced chuckle got a glance from her. ]

This is promises. By this, then you'll be able to control your carnal impulses as well.

[ She teases him so lovingly. No really. The protest though has her tilt her head a little. ]

Yes, and? [ This is your job, manservant! ]

[True and he can even see some tell tale sounds that she didn't exactly let his information go through one ear and out the other.]

If I had any such problem to begin with.

[Which he didn't but she would never let him have that.]

...Never mind. I'll finish them later.

[He sighs in resignation and puts his box on top of the others before lifting the whole stack up in his arms.]

[ In Ferris' mind, it's her favorite game. So even when you're not being a lewd pervert (which is always) you're being a lewd pervert, Ryner. ]

The first step to curing such deficiencies is acknowledging that you have them. You're still in denial.

[ Sage advice! She waved a hand. ]

Look there; It looks like that is an inn of some sort. [ You'll have to pay of course. ]

[If it was anyone else, he would question the person's creativity. But this was Ferris.]

[He's not going to let her story get him caught in its flow.]

So we're staying here?

[After all there were still two more gates left.]

[ She'll get you yet Ryner. And your little dango too! She glanced at him again, curious, and then shook her head. ]

There are still two more locations. However if you're keen to continue... we can go on.

[ She'd planned on letting him rest a little, but it looked like he didn't need it. WELL that'll be the last time she offers a freebie. Fufufu. ]

What is your opinion of this city? [ What he's seen of it anyway. ]

[Hopefully she'll be to busy with her own to come after his for a while.]

[Why does he feel like he just did something very stupid. Oh well no taking it back now. AT the question regarding the city, he looked around for a moment.]

Looks better than that first place. Though...it's really noisy. I doubt I'd be able to get a nap in a place like this.

[ She still had four boxes - it'd take her at LEAST to the end of the day, MAYBE tomorrow to finish those. His dango were safe. For now. ]

Cleaner, safer, perhaps. I don't sense malevolent presences here the way I did there. [ She nodded slightly, her gaze shifting upwards. ]

I don't care for those things. People climbing into them, traveling through the air under some power.

[ Give her a horse and carriage any day. Those things just looked horribly unsafe. Surprisingly, after she passed through the Gate to the city, she kept walking rather than threaten Ryner with another swipe for a choice in direction. Fayren it is! ]

Exactly. THough while it's all nice and amazing it doesn't feel comfortable.

[He agrees with a nod before smirking cheekily.]

Don't forget the living floor.

[He's not going to let her live that down just yet. Even so he followed Ferris' lead this time and into Fayren. Immediately Ryner could see and feel the difference.]

This place. There's actually magic in the air!

[ She WAS going to let that go, but y'know, she changed her mind. That cheeky comment is met with a warning glance, her blade unsheathed and held just in front of his throat. ]

Houu.. did you say something?

[ Teasing her about something like that. Nerve. Still regardless of reaction, she was surprisingly pleased by the change in atmosphere in Fayren. ]

Hmm, it seems more... familiar in this place as well. Perhaps this will be a more suitable location, if we are to stay for an extended period of time.

[ The one downside? The place didn't have dangos. But she could always make some. ]

[Maybe just maybe he loved living on the edge. That's the only rational explanation right?]

N-No no no nothing at all Lady Ferris!

[The previous place was certainly awe inspiring in terms of technology and other things. But this felt much closer to home. He didn't need convenience. All he wanted was a library maybe and some nice quiet place where he could nap whenever he felt like it.]

Yeah I could live with that. Best to make our temporary housing somewhere that feels closer to home.

[ It had to be the reason. He put up with her bullying so much after all, he clearly enjoyed those life or death threats she harassed him with on a whim. ]

Hmm.

[ Okay, you get to live this time Ryner. She lowers the sword and slides it back in place. ]

Yes, I agree.

[ That other city was unsettling, and tense - oppressively so. Here in Fayren it seemed like a total opposite. She could feel the prescences of other creatures moving about around them, but unlike in the other city, not all of them felt malevolent. ]

We'll need a map if we are to familiarize ourselves with this place properly.

[They will never know. Or they will. Time will tell.]

He's not about to grovel in thanks for his life being spared though]

Well first we should find an inn. We should be able to learn some more from there.

[Ryner scans the surroundings until he spots a hanging sign from one of the buildings.]

That looks promising.

[ InDEED. Fufufu. ]

[ She eyes the stack of dango he's carrying, more concerned that he'd drop them than that he'd trip and fall with them or something. She misses her chance to tease him about spotting the Inn first, if only because she's thinking about a more pressing matter. Money. How are they going to pay for more dango? (because obviously this is the higher priority). That and she's still processing what he told her earlier. ]

[ She marches on, pulling the door open and sauntering through and Ryner, mind that the door doesn't smack you in the nose because she didn't hold it. Sorry buddy! ]

[Fun times]

[He leads the way to the Inn. THe last worry on his mind is Dangos thought. AFter all they still have so many boxes left.]

[He has to put his foot in the door though when Ferris oh so helpfully doesn't hold the door. What a pair they must make for the innkeeper.]

[ They'll last only so long though, with Ferris. She could eat fix boxes in a day- maaaaybe two, depending on what she's doing. She glanced over her shoulder when she saw Ryner edging his way in with the boxes, and nodded to herself. He's fiiiiiiiiiiiiine. ]

Innkeeper. [ She addressed the woman who was watching Ryner with amusement, and then to Ferris.]

We require a room for the night. [ Well, probably more than a night, but. ] He's paying.

[ The innkeeper glanced between the lovely lady and her companion, hazarding a guess. ]

He's your...

[ Ferris is never one to pass up a chance to troll, thus... she nods, looking away with a hand at her cheek. ]

Yes. Our parents were overbearing and didn't want us to be together, so we eloped to be together. I didn't wish to betray them, but Ryner is so persuasive..~!

[ She is a terrible person. ]

[That's certainly true. But he's not going to let that stop him though. As soon as they were settled in.]

Hey what are you doing telling her that?!

[Choice of words likely isn't helping his case either.]

[ And Ferris just plays it up too, her attention shifting to Ryner and a tiny gasp escaping. ]

Ah! I'm sorry darling, but she seemed like such a kind, and understanding woman.

[ Pout. Except it kind of loses the effect when the eyes don't give away the pouty expression too. The innkeeper was too busy waving a hand reassuringly to pay that any mind though. ]

Oh Don't you worry your little head about it dears, I won't be telling anyone about your past. What's done is done, hm?

[Ryner just rolls his eyes at Ferris and decides it's not worth getting worked up. The innkeeper seems nice enough at least.]

You are too kind. Thank you very much. As you can see we're new to this place so we aren't familiar with the prices in this place.

[ What can she say, she enjoyed getting those reactions out of him. Ferris accepted this as a small victory for herself, settling back into her usual oh-so-expressive self, content. ]

Would you be able to provide a map of the local area as well as lodging? You can add the cost of the map to the cost of the room as well - he'll be paying.

[ Because she..kinda spent all her money already. But Ryner had to be expecting that. The innkeeper merely looked at the two like they were a pair of foolish kids who rushed into a situation. Young love! ]

Of course, ah - well I have a map of the local area, but anything more detailed, you'd have to find at the library in town.

[Yes he knows all too well how she loves being a sadist on his expense. So he just rolls with it. He does take out his envelope with the remaining cash.]

That will help regardless, if anything to at least find the library quicker. So how much will it be?

[ The innkeeper glanced between the two thoughtfully. ]

Oh, I wouldn't take my money out so blatantly like that dear. Thieves, you know. Anyway, just 50 a night. [ She may have charged them a little less than her usual patrons because she's a softie and a romantic at heart. ]

Will you two be staying long?

[He looked at her curiously before smiling reassuringly.]

Don't worry. We have our ways to deal with any unwanted attention we might get.

[50 a night huh? Too bad he's not thinking of asking if separate rooms or the same one. Regardless he passes payment for three nights in advance just to be sure.]

We just might. First we need to get the lay of the land and figure things out but this place feels the closest to home for us.

[ Oh dear no, the innkeeper wouldn't DREAM of separating a newly eloped couple! The innkeeper paused, still looking doubtful - which is about when Ferris interjected to helpfully support Ryner's claim in her own way. ]

He speaks the truth. He may look stupid, lazy, unmotivated and useless but he is capable of holding his own surprisingly well.

[ ... you're welcome. That being said, Ferris reached forward to take the key since Ryner was still carrying the dango boxes, absently toying with it as the Innkeeper processed the strange ..support from the other girl. That's... love? ]

Ah... yes. well... if you say so then.. I must certainly take your word for it, both of you.. [ Eheh. Strange, STRANGE pair. She smiled to Ryner again. ]
