Hello, I’m trying to learn how to cook. I’m not too good at it but I have some good cookbooks I found at the book store. I have a few people who have already offered to help but if anyone else is willing I’d be grateful.

[She knows a few people who will rush over after seeing her video. She’s invited them to learn to cook with her though she doesn’t know who will teach them. Terra has everything prepared with a cookbook open, the refrigerator stocked while pots and pans littered the counter tops. She doesn’t even know which would be best to use.

She’ll wait to hear a sound at the door, spending the extra time reading the intro to the cookbook while sitting at the kitchen table. It goes over food pre, names of equipment as well as common techniques to be used in the kitchen.]

Cooking? Sakuya paused, staring down at her device for a moment. Well, might as well. It's been too long since she had the chance to cook for fun... Or, in this case, help cook. A rare kindness for the maid.

I honestly don't know where to start.

Sakuya was quiet for a long moment, frowning just slightly. "Well, the first step is simply ensuring you have the ingredients and tools to prepare what you wish to make. If you are having that much trouble I have the time to come by there and offer my assistance."

[Ronan came in not long after her video message, bearing a small sack from the local grocery. He'd mostly gone out for smokes, but there hadn't been any milk for the coffee that morning, either, so he'd picked some up while he was out.

His eyebrows raised as he looked around the haphazardly arranged kitchen.]

So, uh, what are you cooking?

[Terra's head lifts from her book when she hears the door close. It can only possibly be two people because only two people have keys. Her new roommate and then her not father who feels the need to check on her from time to time.

She watches at Ronan steps in and then smiles shaking her head.]

I don't know yet. Is there anything you like?

[She really needs ideas and he's going to end up eating it anyway.]

Try ta use fresh ingredients. Fresh food is the shiiiiit. Moreso when its fresh meats.

Okay. I have fresh vegetables from my garden. I don't know where to find fresh meat though. I just bought what the supermarket had.

You know learning from a book is all well and good, but learning other ways is always much better because you figure out what you like and how you cook.

[Terra looks at her phone and then nods.]

That is the idea. [Now that she's read enough not to burn down her home.] I also need to learn how to use most things in a kitchen so it's been a slow process.

[It's also why she has so many things spread out over the counter.]

Do you think I should just try a random recipe?

I find that sometimes even with a cookbook... things do not always go well.

[They had so many attempts at a cake back home and that was with a recipe... at least she thinks it was anyway.]

Just don't try and guess what might go into something or else you'll end up with something... like Mystery Food X.

[Hikari paused for a moment, she herself had always known how to cook at least basic food such as eggs, but had to learn how to make more while she was here. She wondered if others did something else or eat out a lot.]

Before now I was in the care of the military. Meals are given to you there so I never learned.

[He had to learn himself after all, so he understood why she would need to learn as well and he just wanted to help her.]

[There is a little bit of a pause and then she asks the question that she wouldn't really feel comfortable asking anyone else.]

Can you tell me what everything in my kitchen is and what it's used for?

Actually, you just reminded me. One of my Christmas gifts was a cookbook specifically written for engineers. I've been reading through it, and some of the recipes come across as pretty easy to make. Shall we try some of those?

I think I could help you with... sweets. [He doesn't even remember how or why he learnt how to prepare them, memories of the orphanage and his times with Ellone lost to the Guardian Forces's power, but he always kept in mind how to bake good stuff.]

[This is the first person to offer something so specific and honestly sweets were something that Terra felt like she'd enjoy; more so if she can make them look pretty like the sweets she sees in cafes or shops.]
