[OPEN] Valentine's Auction & Party!

WHO: Open!
WHAT:
Valentine's Auction & Party!

WHEN:
2/07/2016

WHERE: The Castle Royale Hotel, Genessia City.
WARNINGS: None.

The event space in the Castle Royale Hotel in Genessia City was decorated for this event. Pink hearts and other decorations were tastefully hung and placed all over the place to help people get into that romantic type of mood. It took quite a while to decorate it all, but it would take less time to get it all down once the event was over.

Just approaching the hotel, you would be able to hear the sound of music faintly playing. The event would have been awkward if there wasn’t any DJ at all to play music to get people in the dancing sort of mood. The DJ has their little area set up so he could entertain the guests with various genres of music. Some slow, some fast, some in-between. But the one thing it has in common is it is all something you can dance to.

The event officially starts at 5PM, but the doors themselves open at 4PM. Though at that time, things are still being set up, but you won't be asked to leave if you decide to sit around and wait for it to start.

[ooc: Below there will be 4 separate threads posted for all of the areas available. Feel free to use them or post your own outside of them. The auction now closed. Don't bid more in the auction than your character would plausibly have. For instance, if they don't have a job, they can't bid 10,000 redbills. Bidding should be done within their actual means.

The Auction will end on Feb 13th, 11:59PM]

Well, I'm glad we feel the same about that. Do the people being auctioned on even know, or... What's are the qualifiers involved in this? If the people involved are fully aware, then I'd just attribute it to lonely people doing lonely people things, but if not, that's going a little too far.

Judging from the looks on some of their faces, it seems to be a mix. I would assume some willingly chose to be part of it, but others were not.

[He raises an eyebrow, raising his glass to his lips.]

Yet for some being signed up against their will, they still showed up willingly. How peculiar.

Some people do strange things. Others have ego. You know, curiosity. It's a human thing, look it up some time. [He chuckled. If Liam had any doubts about whether or not Allen knew he wasn't human, that should clear them up.]

Maybe they're holding out hope someone in particular they like will bid on them, as an excuse for a date in lieu of asking. Maybe they're just interested in seeing what kind of people will bid on them and have no intention of going on the date. Or maybe they're bored, and will take the date to spice things up? There's a lot of reasons.

Not my scene, though.

[His eyes narrow slightly at Allen's words, while the crow on his shoulder lets out a caw and a flap of its wings. He rested a hand on the crow's head to calm it. He wasn't surprised that Allen knew, but he was silently annoyed.]

I'm afraid I tend to be disinterested in mortal affairs. Doing research on them can be far too boring for my tastes. However, I would be lying if I said that curiosity did not get the better of me at times.

What of you then? Is it curiosity that brings you here as well, or is it merely boredom?

A little of both. That, and a little disdain for the whole thing. Feels pretty rude and gross to just deny someone's right to choose a partner for themselves and put them up on sale like they were pieces of meat. I needed to see for myself how the whole thing was handled.

Or I might have gone ahead and shut it down myself.

How noble of you. Caring of the rights and freedoms of mortals.

[He sounds a little amused as he takes another sip of his wine. One could almost say that he does as well, but in his case it has to take special circumstances to make him care.]

So then, I suppose the event has met your approval, seeing that you're not going out to your way to crash it.

Clearly, no one else will. So someone has to, in a world of gods, devils, and powers beyond comprehension. I just figured the one to do that would be me. I believe those 'mortals' should have the right to decide the course of their own lives, for better or for worse, whether they prosper, or destroy themselves. That's not so bad, is it?

But you are correct. I'll let it be, for now. So long as no one gets too forceful.

[He's quiet for a moment as a smirk comes to his face as he closes his eyes.]

It's a shame that you are not from the world I came from. Otherwise, I believe we would have been capable allies.

[If he has such a noble mindset of protecting mortals in this place, he could have made a fine general. He opens his eyes, petting the crow on his shoulder.]

It seems a few of the Guardians and their deputies are present at this event. I do not believe you would have to waste your energy.

But tell me, what is your name?
theonewithsixeyes: (sparkster)

[personal profile] theonewithsixeyes 2016-02-08 09:42 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, you never know. Maybe there's a 'me' there already that you just don't know about. I'm glad to hear about the guardians, however. I would hope the guardians make the right decisions in such an event...

I'm Allen. No last name, merely Allen.
iridescentillusion: ([Human] Chain)

[personal profile] iridescentillusion 2016-02-08 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. I could use more aid should the Cardinals come to be again. [Although he doubts that Allen would be there, as ideal as it would be.]

There are Guardians and deputies in the main event itself, and I believe Genessia City's Guardian was the one hosting the event. I'm sure they're more than capable.

A pleasure, Allen. I am Liam Randel. [He considered giving Allen his real name as well, but perhaps he'll keep that as a 'second entity' for the time being. He looks at the crow, who lets out another caw.] And he is Zenith.
theonewithsixeyes: (formal)

[personal profile] theonewithsixeyes 2016-02-08 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
Charmed. [He then smiled at the crow.] Heyo, Zenith. What a polite bird he is too. Raised him yourself?

[Zenith caws again in response, Cipher reaching up and patting it again.]

He's one of my two familiars. He is the only one that I would trust enough to take into establishments such as this. His brother is... not quite as well behaved.

[Zenith seems to lift its head almost triumphantly, looking about as smug as a crow could be. It always knew it was better than Nadir.]

[personal profile] theonewithsixeyes 2016-02-10 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, birds aren't the same as dogs or cats after all. They've got their own temperament, and from my experience, crows tend to be more tricky than their fellows. The smarter the bird, the bigger the troublemaker.
iridescentillusion: ([Human] Smirk)

[personal profile] iridescentillusion 2016-02-10 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Now Zenith looks a little offended. Implying that Nadir is smarter because he causes more trouble? How dare!]

Their intelligence is one of the reasons that I chose crows for my familiars. [He does manage a faint smirk.] Their mischievous nature is amusing at times, I will admit.

[As if almost on cue, a red eyed crow strolls up beside Cipher and Allen, and seems to get distracted by the other man's white hair, staring at it.]
theonewithsixeyes: (formal)

[personal profile] theonewithsixeyes 2016-02-10 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
Just remember to treat them well, crows remember everything, after all, and even tell other crows.

[Allen notices the other crow stride up and tilts his head down to look at it.] Is this the other one then?

[personal profile] iridescentillusion 2016-02-10 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
I'm quite familiar with the nature of crows. One of my generals, however, learned that the hard way.

[Now Mobius side-eyes the birds all the time. There was a reason why Fulco was the smartest out of his generals.

He glances down at the other crow, giving a quiet sigh.]

Yes, that is Nadir. Doing as he pleases as usual, seeing that he ignored my orders not to come in here.

[Nadir just looks up at Allen, acting casual while staring at the man and squawking. He wasn't eying his hair, nosiree.]
