WHERE: The Castle Royale Hotel, Genessia City.

The event space in the Castle Royale Hotel in Genessia City was decorated for this event. Pink hearts and other decorations were tastefully hung and placed all over the place to help people get into that romantic type of mood. It took quite a while to decorate it all, but it would take less time to get it all down once the event was over.

Just approaching the hotel, you would be able to hear the sound of music faintly playing. The event would have been awkward if there wasn’t any DJ at all to play music to get people in the dancing sort of mood. The DJ has their little area set up so he could entertain the guests with various genres of music. Some slow, some fast, some in-between. But the one thing it has in common is it is all something you can dance to.

The event officially starts at 5PM, but the doors themselves open at 4PM. Though at that time, things are still being set up, but you won't be asked to leave if you decide to sit around and wait for it to start.

Don't bid more in the auction than your character would plausibly have. For instance, if they don't have a job, they can't bid 10,000 redbills. Bidding should be done within their actual means.

[ Thank god she didn't take after her dad amirite? Feeling herself getting caught by someone, steadied and directed to use the balcony for balance ~~like she has COOTIES~~, she glanced up automatically, her concern for the torn ribbon cast aside. ]

[ Yyyyyyyeah this is awkward all right. She still considers him an enemy, but she's not going to be openly hostile to him or anything. ]

Zeref, trying to downplay the fact that she'd have knocked him over and landed on top of him had he not had good reflexes, takes a deep breath, trying to regain his composure after having been startled out of his daydream. He holds up a hand, shaking his head. }

Don't be. One glass of wine is usually more than I have, anyway. { He certainly wasn't a drinker. Alcohol clouded one's judgment, and in his case, that would be a very, very bad thing. } Are you here with Natsu?

[ She would be forever alone. And no trollfacing involved there. Though she wouldn't have landed on top of him since she hadn't bumped into him THAT hard. ~~Also don't daydream about her falling on top of you. *FLEES* XD~~ ]

Mm, I didn't touch any of the alcohol myself. [ She... uh... doesn't test well with booze. She took the non-alcoholic option. ]

He'll be along. [ He was almost never far from her anymore, which she was absolutely fine with. And she'll be making sure the two of you don't run into each other because that will NOT end well. ]

{ No kidding. ~~And he would never! Really! Ever! ... Really...~~

Zeref looked down at the empty glass as it continued rolling along the floor of the balcony, until it rested against the bottom of the railing. He then turned back to Lucy, and sheepishly nodded. }

I've never been big on alcohol. It isn't as if I even have the opportunity to drink any. { Really, it's only when he goes back to Alvarez. A country as massive as the Empire has a huge agricultural community, and the booze industry was no exception. }

The party is too quiet for him to be here. { Said completely matter-of-factly, as if it wasn't intended to be taken as a joke. } I've noticed how close you two are. It's impossible not to.

{ And the irony of it isn't lost on him. }

It just seemed unusual for you to be here without him. That is all. { Zeref sighs quietly, before continuing. } The situation with the Hands of Decay... Has it improved?

I said he'd be along. [ His interest in Natsu was just creepy. What was with that? ]

If you mean have there been any other deaths since, no - but neither have they been captured since then. They're more slippery than worms.

{ But so would Zeref. And now, he thinks his goal of dying is beyond his grasp once and for all, but it isn't as if that matters here, anyway. Even if Natsu were to take those bandages off the moment he arrived at the party and incinerated him (and himself), they'd both be back tomorrow, immortality or no immortality. That's why he has been content to mostly leave Natsu alone, here.

He'd only recently had that conversation with him, in the Dream Docks. In case Natsu ever went there himself, he won't discuss it. That was something he'd always believed he should know when he was ready. He was in their world, but not here. }

I will hold back, for now. I suspect that their repeated provocations are done out of an attempt at martyrdom. They want one of their own to be killed by a mage, so that they may claim that their views have been vindicated. { They weren't the first group of non-wizards to wish to overthrow what they perceive as a hegemonicrule of wizards over them. They won't be the last. And they all tended to have the same mindset. } They crave validation by the general public. It wouldn't take much for any sympathizers they have to turn on them.

[ Yeah, she doesn't care about you, Zeref. Natsu is the important factor. And she personally, can't stand how cavalier people are about dying. Just because people have been coming back from death while they were here, it was still _DYING_. And what happens if whatever power that was malfunctions? ]

Mm, they already have claimed such. Not many are believing them, so far, but there are still a few.

{ Just what he was hoping to hear. Zeref's expression relaxes, placing both hands on the railing, looking out at the city skyline. He takes a deep breath; he's getting an idea for these Hands of Decay, but there's no use showing his hand right now, least of all when it might ruin the mood. After all... Mavis might turn the corner. }

It's reassuring, then, that there are still humans out there who can see groups like them for what they are. { If only there were more. He turns back towards Lucy, deciding to change the subject. } I might have asked this before, but it has been some time since I had last gone to the Dream Docks. What is the last thing you remember happening in our world?

Mm, you did ask me the same thing before. I don't intend to go to the dream docks again for a while, not with the Hands of Decay still out there.

{ Zeref closed his eyes again, suddenly becoming quiet. He knew something was up; Lucy and Natsu were avoiding the Fairy Haven until now. They were certainly united as the vanguard battalion laid siege to Magnolia. But, Makarov did leave Ishgar for an entire year, far above and beyond a guild master's standard leave of absence. Even as desperate as he was, why would he leave them behind for that long? Unless--

Ah. A sly smile spread across Zeref's face. }

You know, I met your master, Makarov. { A beat. } He was here for a few months, but that was before you and Natsu vanished as well. He didn't know what had happened to Precht--... Hades, following Tenroujima.
