Valentine's Auction & Party!

WHERE: The Castle Royale Hotel, Genessia City.
WARNINGS: None.

The event space in the Castle Royale Hotel in Genessia City was decorated for this event. Pink hearts and other decorations were tastefully hung and placed all over the place to help people get into that romantic type of mood. It took quite a while to decorate it all, but it would take less time to get it all down once the event was over.

Just approaching the hotel, you would be able to hear the sound of music faintly playing. The event would have been awkward if there wasn’t any DJ at all to play music to get people in the dancing sort of mood. The DJ has their little area set up so he could entertain the guests with various genres of music. Some slow, some fast, some in-between. But the one thing it has in common is it is all something you can dance to.

The event officially starts at 5PM, but the doors themselves open at 4PM. Though at that time, things are still being set up, but you won't be asked to leave if you decide to sit around and wait for it to start.

Don't bid more in the auction than your character would plausibly have. For instance, if they don't have a job, they can't bid 10,000 redbills. Bidding should be done within their actual means.

[Levy nods forcing her lips into a confident smile.]

I'll stop by then. I've been doing some against the Hands of Decay but I never feel like it's enough.

[She can understand the guild hall feeling empty. She lightly bumps against Lucy's shoulder.]

I'm glad you're taking a break too. Are you having fun?

I'll look forward to it.

[ Lucy flashed her friend a quick smile. She might have several years (kind of) ahead of Levy but she'd like to believe that they were close enough friends that time couldn't put distance in their friendship. ]

I know what you mean. [ And it didn't help that she couldn't trust the local authority to be honest or forthcoming with information they found. Lord knows they don't back home. ]

They're more slimey than worms, they way they pop up and then scatter before anyone can grab them.

[ Fun? That's... debatable. She was there to try to relax, sure, but she was worried too much to really have fun. ]

Well... to be honest I haven't really been paying attention to the proceedings here, but... it is a nice change of pace.

Oh..! That reminds me. I have something for you.

[Levy personally hates the Hands of Decay but she doesn't think they're going to get away with it. Fairy Tail is on the case and they'll win. There is no question in Levy's mind about that.

At the mention of 'something' Levy's expression shifts to one of surprise.]

What is it?

[She really has no idea what it could be.]

[ Oh Levy isn't the only one who hates the Hands of Decay - it was personal, and not just because she was a mage. Not winning wasn't an option. ]

Well... I wanted to give it back to you when you were having your Christmas Party - [ She felt bad she had never gone, but that's also when things were going to hell in Fayren. Priorities... parties weren't one of them. ]

I kept meaning to catch you at your bookstore... but -- [ She shook her head a little. Instead she pulled a square object from her purse, neatly wrapped in green paper with little stars on it. ]

Merry Belated Christmas?

[ When unwrapped, it'll be a first edition book. One that Lucy wrote and had published. ]

[Levy had missed Lucy at the party since her friend had been the reason she through it but she wouldn't ever push or pry. She smiles as she takes the green wrapping and carefully pulls the book from it's cover. Her eyes widen and her lips pull into an unhindered smile.]

This is amazing Lucy!

[She holds the book against her chest.]

It's perfect.

[She had gotten Lucy a present as well, a book of course but she had sent it in the mail around Christmas time. She has no idea if her friend got it.]

[ Lucy blushed faintly. ]

Ahaha - save the praise till you actually read it..! Though people seem to be liking it in Nova City. I thought about publishing it in the rest of the cities too, but I wanted to test reception out there first.

[Levy nods her head.]

I'd be happy to sell it in my shop.

[Just so Lucy knows.]

I'll also tell you what I think when I'm finished.

[ She scratched her cheek, looking suddenly embarrassed. It was one thing for her book to sell well in nova City, she wasn't sure how it would be received in Fayren, and she was more well known there! ]

Maybe - let me know what you think first. [ She turned to the punch bowl, pouring a glass full and offering it to her friend. ]

[Levy takes the glass of punch only after carefully stowing the Christmas present beneath her arm.]
