Hi everyone! [ She waves, giving a brief smile. ] I'm Yuri, or Yurippe, but if you try to come up with another nickname for me I'm not going to respond to it since one weird nickname I'm already used to is enough. I just got here and I want to be a kindergarten teacher. [ She's got experience with schools and kids. Not necessarily teaching kids, but it can't be that hard. ] I impersonated a teacher once, I've spent more time in a school than anyone I've ever met, and am older than I look. They're not going to turn me down are they?

Do people end up here if they think really hard about moving to a foreign country and can't decide which one they want a lot?

It'd be completely unfair if they said I couldn't. If you spend long enough in a school that you can't actually remember how long, that should be a given.

True, but I haven't seen a lot of kids around and the ones that I do see either don't go to school or are like the people without necklaces.

The people without necklaces are basically NPCs right? If they're not real. I don't really care if they're not real so long as I don't end up starving on the side of the street. I'm used to being around creepy soulless human-lookalikes.

NPC? I'm afraid I don't really know that term, but they're not real if that's what you mean.

Yeah. NPC's a reference to video games. It means Non-Player Character. Basically it's like all the background characters who have little characteristics, but if you talk to them long enough they'll start repeating themselves or it becomes obvious that they're not really anything other than programs if you know what to look for, no matter how well done they are. Someone I used to know started calling the ones I know that and it caught on.

Then yes, that's about what they are here. They react sometimes, but not like a real person would. It's...a little disconcerting at the best of times.

They're pretty much harmless unless you run into the bad sort though.

No, one of them was the normal world that I was born, next was the afterlife, then a place called Rokkenjima, then another world that I guess it was a normal world, but I shouldn't have existed there.

[ When Yuri had arrived, she'd thought that maybe, just maybe, this would be somewhere that she could breathe for a while. She would worry about figuring out how to get home.. No, just get back later. She didn't really have a home anymore. Whatever it was, that period of just getting away from everyone was cut short by the one person that she hadn't wanted to see.

Maybe she should just.. let him think that she wasn't the same Yuri he knew. After all, even with the community things like that had happened. She wasn't a coward though. No, after feeling a rush of excitement at not being alone followed by her chest clenching up like it was being squeezed, Yuri just switched her feed to voice, feigning nonchalance as best as she could. And she could do that quite well, her voice sounding almost dismissive. ]

he should have expected as much. but battler would not falter just yet! his heart was aching as well, he felt terrible and he didn't even know if he should keep this up. he chuckled to himself, swallowing and trying to get rid of the lump in his throat. it was no good, he could barely speak but he forced out some words.]

Stalking....? No... not at all. C'mon, don't give me that.....! I just woke up here like you, found myself in the bay and haven't a clue what's happening!

[ She listened to his words, taking a little while to respond again. He was lost, sure, and Yuri wanted to get him and just get him somewhere near her so she could make sure he didn't do anything too stupid. As much as she hated him right now, she had certain instincts toward people she cared about.

Maybe just playing leader would help. ]

Where are you? I'm still not talking to you, but we both need a place to stay and if you're somewhere nearby then I know you're not going to make an ass out of yourself.

[that was indeed a good idea, just playing leader so they don't have to think about everything else that happened between them. he was grateful that she was at least talking to him however, he didn't think he could go along in this place if he knew she was here but didn't want to talk to him.]

I... just came out of the bay as well. I'm on the outskirts of what seems like a town.

[ It wasn't like she was really inside anywhere, she was just sitting on a steps somewhere. She didn't sound too enthusiastic, more like she had to come back for a dog that had gotten out. Really, she didn't know what she was doing. ]

All of my friends are dead, disappeared, and reincarnated or otherwise not from my world. I got reincarnated too, then a certain individual made sure that my memories drowned out the ones of the person I was reincarnated into so I was just stuck some place I didn't belong trying to pretend to be someone I wasn't.
