Who: Airy & OPEN
Where: Genessia Hospital
When: March 29th - April 3rd
What: After these happenings. She's in the hospital for a few days before being allowed to head home and some text's to friends.
Warnings: Talks of Blood and injuries.

[Airy doesn't remember the first 12 hours in the hospital which saves her from at least twelve hours of boredom. She isn't good at staying put and thinking about her kidnapping makes her head spin and then hurt. She can't have caffeine or anything else she enjoys because of the medicine they have her taking and the steady stream of blood being pumped into her arm. Her ankle and shoulder are bandaged but the painkillers stop them from hurting.

The worst part about painkillers is that they make it to hard to focus on things like reading or writing but it isn't enough to just knock her out and make her sleep. She ends up playing a lot of candy crush on her phone; after sending a few somewhat awkward texts to those she knew.

Her stomach rumbles and she drops her phone onto her abdomen as if that might make the insistent feeling go away. Airy really likes eating, specifically breakfast, and while the food here isn't awful it isn't very good either. She misses real food and that fact alone makes her sad.]

I'll know when you snore. [ she probably doesn't snore. dave's smug little face. he'll hold an entire conversation with a sleeping person. he holds enough with himself. ]

Yeah. That's where I got the headphones. All I could afford though. [ he wrinkles his nose ]

They all use the same currency so it probably runs about the same as any group of places would. I wouldn't want to get all wrapped up in it. Economies are way complicated and that's why people always complain about them. [ current background music ]

[She lightly pushes on Dave's shoulder, if only to counter his smug face.]

Mmmm, if you make lots of music I'd be willing to help. ONLY if you make more awesome songs and let me listen to them first. [She really likes music and she's willing to support talent.]

Like this song. I really like it. You ever wonder what people would sound like if they were a son? [It's not completely random, all of Dave's music sorta sounds like him in a weird way. It's cool.]

You sure about that? [ there's a full smirk at the push. ]

What do you mean help? Like fund my music career? You were jobless too last I checked. [ he doesn't really think he could take money from her. too nice. too nice. he shakes his head ] I'll let you listen to them first anyway.

You'd have terrible taste if you didn't. [ he pauses, looking over at her ] If they were a song? [ leaning back in his seat, looking up at the ceiling ] Sure. Why? You think this one sounds like me personified into a sick beat? I don't know if I'd pick this one.

[Yes, she is sure that she doesn't snore because she talks in her sleep instead.]

I still don't have a job so I can't fund it but I can try and help. Maybe collect stuff? [She'd totally give him money too.]

Ah, yeah. What song would you be?

[This has her the most curious. Melodies can be just as complex as people, maybe everyone could be turned into a song.]

[ a finger moves up to his face and he taps it on his chin a few times. his brows knit together while he actually considers the question. ]

[ he folds his arms across his chest, face going blank while he thinks it over further, uncharacteristically silent. there's some serious thought going into it. what song. would be him. in music form. it's a difficult question.

he wants to pick something cool. he wants it to be the best song ever. he doesn't know if that suits him. he considers throwing a joke song out to make her laugh instead of thinking as hard as he started to about it. yeah.

after a long pause he plays one of his untitled sound clips for her with a fraction of a smirk on his face. that's what he picked. the song that autoplays after it, is not. he just shrugs at it.

sure. that can be him. whatever. he doesn't know what the actual answer would be. ]

[Airy laughs softly as the second song begins to play.]

I'm sorry. Too much pressure? You'd definately be a cool song but one with rhythms that you might not expect so maybe something that blends different types of music together. Something unique. [She looks up at Dave curiously.]

What do you think of that?

Nah. There's no pressure. I've just got too many sweet tracks. [ plays it off. too much pressure. he listens to her, bites the inside of his cheek in thought. something unique? blended? ]

So. What you're saying is - I'm the shuffle button? [ is that a good thing ]

[Airy laughs at Dave's conclusion.]

That's not what I meant but we can go with that. That's pretty cool. Shuffle button is the best, isn't it?

I wonder what I'd sound like...

[Airy's now deep in thought.]

It is until that embarrassing track you definitely didn't want playing in front of people starts up while - [ the next song starts. his timing is impeccable. ] Oh my god. [ slides his hands up under his sunglasses and puts his head down in them ] Fucking squiddles.

[ he picks his head up after dropping his hands and putting his glasses securely back into place. then grabs his phone to quickly find a song to switch it to. ]

Yours would have to be something that borders on classical. Let's see...

[Airy can't help it. She bursts into loud, unhindered laughter as the sound of squiddles fill the room. She wipes away at the tears that have begun to gather at the corner of her eyes.]

I'm sorry. I don't mean to laugh. They sound so cute. [She doesn't hate the song, in fact, Airy sort of likes it.]

I don't even know what squiddles are but I bet their adorable.

[She tries to subdue her laughter.]

Classical? I don't think I'm that classy.

[ groan. the tables have turned. he's over it fairly quickly - or doing a good job of pokerfacing any embarrassment. ]

I don't know. It's this stupid fucking TV show about cute squids having tickle fights and being best friends based on actual eldrich fucking horrors. Jade was obsessed with them so I was trying to remix it for her. I forgot that was in there.

[ shaking his head ]

You don't have to be classy to have a pretty instrumental piece.

[Airy continues to smile.]

I like it. It sounds cute and squids are adorable.

A very clear leimotif that everyone would buy if your life had a soundtrack and use as their audition to fucking Julliard then dance to it at their wedding.

[ his thumb hovers over his phone, circling around like he's unsure if he wants to share what he thinks sounds close enough to what he's trying to describe or not. it's not really his style. he seems to decide against it at the last second, chickening out on sharing anything that doesn't have a heavy bass line. the song now playing has nothing to do with anything now. he didn't make it. snoop did. ]

[Airy just shakes her head, she hadn't meant it as a Challenge but she'll be excited to see what he comes up with.]

The song isn't an actual symphony, I don't think. [She needs to learn more about music now.]

Snoop dog? [She smiles remembering the song.] Ah, I remember my mom hated this song. It was sorta funny though, all the kids in school liked it. It was really popular.

[She doesn't have it on her phone.]

[ return of the tiny dave smirk. ] This song is the shit. What'd your mom hate on Snoop for?

[She likes his smirk, it suits him.]

Well swearing, content, and he's not a really nice guy in his songs.

[Her mom likes mommy things which aren't at all vulgar. Things like Cinderella movies and old movies with a lot of dancing.]

Complicated to play with a single instrument, sure.

[ there it goes. it's a fickle thing. ]

[Airy laughs and then shakes her head.]

You don't know that. Though you might like her. I'm pretty sure she can do anything. She's a software engineer and works from home.

I'm not as smart as she is.

[She doesn't understand most of what her mom does.]

So I'm complicated? [Maybe this song metaphor wasn't a good idea because Airy isn't sure what Dave means.]

I'd probably like her. I haven't met a mom I haven't liked. [ or thought wasn't hot... ] That's neat. My mom's totally a scientist.

[ he shrugs. sinking a little bit lower into the chair, lounging in it. ]

What? No, like. I mean- [ how does he phrase this ] Harmonious.

Harmonious is a very pretty word.

[Airy looks just like her mom, only younger.]

A scientist? What sort of science did she specialize in?

I don't know. I only got one convo outta her after we met. All science? She got the science genes. Rose's mom was an astronomer, I think. Probably an astronomer. Let's go with that.
