Let's play a game.
Share something about yourself. Then share something about yourself that you made up. Could be anything. I'm curious about the lot we have running around here and I think everyone would have fun with this one.
The rules are:
1. Tell one truth and as many lies as you want.
2. We all guess which one isn't make-believe.
3. If we get it right, you have to share another true thing.
You can hide under that anonymous setting. I don't care as long as you're not being boring.

I'm not so sure, but I'll take the compliment.

If I didn't know better I'd say you're getting better at this game. I'm feeling generous so you can have the second truth if you want it. Not in the game because that's cheating, but as general conversation.

Okay, you cut yourself off before when you were going to answer my question, so conversationally:
How do you travel to other worlds?
[private now because this is hm hm hm]
Portals. Opening them is a difficult task not to be taken lightly considering a very limited number of ways exist, but I happened to be in possession of an item that made that possible. I don't know if you'd believe me if I told you what said item was.
[private de-anon]
Wow. What's that even like? Does the portal open up or is it just sort of instant? It's not a scroll is it. If it's a scroll I'm done.
[private de-anon]
So you like concentrated sugar.
It's... not what you'd expect, I guess. It opens. A scroll makes too much sense and lands within the realm of believability. Mine was a hat.
[private de-anon]
Yeah it's pretty great.
A hat.
How does that work
No
You know what? That makes perfect sense. Do you hop into the hat like a bunny?
[private de-anon]
Is that why you're so excitable all the time? An ongoing flow of sugar?
You spin it. It picks up magical energy and creates a portal that looks like a whirlwind. Jumping is mandatory, but like a rabbit would be be counterproductive.
[ He might divulge a bit more if he's interested. ]
[private de-anon]
[He's never met Nora.]
If something's cool and exciting I guess I just...don't bother to hide it.
[He is interested. He's glad Jefferson can't see the stars in his eyes because that would just prove his point and he's trying hard to be all guarded and less like a puppy.]
That sounds really cool.
This is literally one of the most interesting things anyone has ever been able to do here.
A magic hat. I can't believe it. What's jumping in it like? Does it ever scare you? Can you control where you go? Why would that be counterproductive?
[private de-anon]
[ He should meet Nora. ]
It's proven to be nifty trick to have around on occasion. [ Other occasions not so much. ] ... is it? There are people here who can do things a lot more impressive than me.
The feeling is a little hard to describe. Scare me in what way? No and yes. The initial destination is always a room with doors, but you can choose where to go from there. It would be counterproductive because I'm not a rabbit.
[private de-anon]
[He should Nora is amazing.]
But yours is something like from a story.
I mean...
I don't know. I just think it's...kinda cool. You don't hear about stuff like that. Super strength, the ability to channel lightning, leaving rose petals wherever you go, maybe. But using a hat as a portal is...magical.
Scare you in that you might end up in the wrong place. You could go anywhere you want...
Too bad. I like rabbits.
[private de-anon]
A magic hat being magical? That's almost preposterous, Jaune. Do you know someone who can do the rose petal thing? That's strangely specific.
No. I never worried about that.
[ Because ending up in the wrong place was never the hat's fault. ]
I don't recall saying I don't like rabbits.
[ His daughter liked them, so he had to by extension. ]
[private de-anon]
Sorry, you're right, it's completely preposterous. I have a friend who does that. Whenever she uses her speed, she leaves a trail of rose petals. She's fast, but she would make a bad ninja.
What about the first time you used it?
Do you?
[private de-anon]
Maybe a bad ninja, but a stylish one.
I knew what I was getting myself into. Figuratively and literally. I didn't doubt that it would work.
I might have a fondness for them.
[private de-anon]
She does have a nice looking sniper-scythe.
I'm glad it did.
They're one of the best animals ever okay.
[private de-anon]
Used for shooting then decapiting? Ahah. How cute.
If it hadn't I think I would be very dead right now.
[private de-anon]
I was thinking of shooting then stabbing. It is cute, she wears a combat skirt.
What kind of worlds have you been in...? [Besides this one this one is pretty dangerous.]
[private de-anon]
That's vaguely better than someone losing their head. How is a combat skirt practical?
I went to a world without color once. Met a guy who looks a bit like Blaine there, actually. He's a doctor, so they're kind of the same in some regards and opposites in others.
[ He was definitely downplaying how confused and insane he felt when he'd first met Blaine. ]
[private de-anon]
We don't normally fight people anyway. For the most part. Before I got here, I was training to be a huntsman to fight creatures of Grimm. We could fight people, it's just not as common. How is it not? It doesn't restrict movement and it looks good.
That's really creepy. Not the Blaine-twin part. That part's kind of weird. Seeing Blaine must have been shocking at first. Opposites how?
[private de-anon]
Sounds honorable. Was it hard?
I've been to stranger places. It wasn't that bad. It was... something else. He took it well, all things considered. Made me a little paranoid for a while though. I was always worried I'd call him the wrong name and make things awkward.
Blaine isn't a doctor, obviously. He kind of does the dead thing while Victor did the preventing death thing. Sometimes Blaine does things that remind me of him. Small stuff like expressions or choice or words. But Victor was a lot more serious and a lot more troubled if all I heard after we lost contact is true.
[private de-anon]
I'm not an honorable person, Jefferson. It was. But I also didn't take it seriously enough and never trained. I guess I thought I'd just instantly get stronger by being there.
It would be awkward but I think he'd understand.
That must have been weird at first. No offense to Victor, but I'm glad it's Blaine that's here and not him. What if they met? I don't think much gets to Blaine. [Other than dying and being tortured.] But I'd still want to see it. What did you here? I mean...you don't have to tell me if you don't want.
[private de-anon]
Don't worry about it. I'm not honorable either. Did you learn from your mistake?
I wouldn't mind if they were both here but I don't know that they would get along. Victor wanted to figure out how to bring the dead back to life. It never worked. He turned to drinking to numb the pain eventually, but he ended up low enough that if someone hadn't stopped him he'd be dead. He was a desperately lonely man. I don't know if that's changed but I hope it has. Being alone is unbearable.
[private de-anon]
I did. I'll never make that same mistake again. I don't know if what I'm doing is right, but it's the only way I have.
I think a lot of people would want to try that, if they thought it would work. Even if they're wrong. Traveling to other portals sounds like it could be lonely.
[private de-anon]
You're smarter than I am. I can't seem to stop making the same ones over and over.
Unfortunately things like that always come at a price. You're right. It could be lonely.
