Other than going cold turkey, what can you do to deal with an addiction? And how do you know for sure that it is an addiction? Especially if it's something you still need in your life? Like work, or exercise, or food, or sex, or whatever.

[A is for Action: At the Sycamore Cycles, Smoker seems pretty well focused. Nothing out of the ordinary going on with him, even if he is wearing the leather jacket despite the heat, that's still not that unusual for Smoker. And it's a lot cooler this week than last. This time it's not jazz on the radio, but rock instead, although he doesn't appear to be enjoying himself any less. However, upstairs, he keeps playing with a pen, apparently trying to chew gum and smoke at the SAME TIME, and fidgeting about with wanting to make coffee... and not wanting to. Weird. Even for Smoker.]

[B is for Baseball: At the batting cages, Smoker cranks up the speed to as high as it will go, and despite wearing very dark motorcycle goggles at night, he does seem to be hitting the balls fairly regularly. It's cheating though, he's just got the rhythm figured out, and he needs a pitcher. Preferably not like Garp though, no one needs to practice batting cannonballs, not even someone who wants to catch the future pirate king.]

[C is for Carp: And then he's just fishing. And he looks really really out of place with it. Like he's the fish debating whether to go for the bait despite the obvious hook or leave it be and look somewhere else. Decisions, decisions.]

[Smoker doesn't know who Jaune is, but Jaune remembers talking to Smoker. Clad in a dark gray and orange hooded sweatshirt and black bracers, he enters the shop in an energy drink haze, not aware that it belongs to the intimidating marine. If he did, he probably wouldn't have entered it. He starts poking at something but when he spots Smoker he freezes and stares in shock.]

[Motorcycles are cool. Jaune probably shouldn't be allowed to drive one. But they're awesome.]

I've always enjoyed baseball.

If there was a good team here, I'd try out for it, but I doubt they play by the marine rules. [Because devil fruit powers do not seem to be a THING in other worlds, much less allowed in a sports game. Which is a shame, because it would be damn amazing to watch, okay okay.]

Why not establish your own team? When in need, do it yourself.

[ There's something that seems... Off about Smoker. Adela can't help frowning at him as they're working on the latest commission, noting that something about him is agitated and... Well, he's clearly not happy or even content?

Adela finally approaches with some fresh coffee, having taken a little break from working on it to brew a fresh pot for them both and having poured Smoker's black. ]

[ maybe she's worried over that text for nothing. She returns the grin, nodding to him as she seats herself with her own mug - with a little milk, no sugar. It helps balance out the taste for her since she's not quite used to how bitter it is. ]

I think addiction is best summed up by what it wrongfully usurps. Thinking about 'it' instead of what's proper or wholesome. For help, there's always Almighty God, i.e. prayer. No doubt it's within the Lord's power to fix or aid, as you need it.

But if you'd like something more technical, I know of one who might be able to help, especially if 'it' is a bodily ailment.

[He did well with asking directly though, Smoker doesn't really lie much, so he has to dodge around it, in his usual smokey way.]

I'm having trouble sleeping at night, and getting even more irritable than usual without it.
