Event Log (Finding the Cure)
Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!
Or at least it used to be.
Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.
Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.
The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!
OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!
Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.
If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.
Re: Lolli Labyrinth |Yang, Weiss, Athrun;Action
"Alright...just as long as it's only holding hands."
And as long as it can keep her from hitting walls. She's worried if the place is as dilapidated as she was told, she might end up slamming holes into it.
Re: Lolli Labyrinth |Yang, Weiss, Athrun;Action
Athrun gripped Yang's hand firmly and began leading her along, down the hallway. As he walked, his head swiveled and his eyes darted around, looking for things he could use to mark their relative location. He was confident he could rely on his memory as he started doing that.
"Still, it's a shame we don't have a bag of pebbles or something."
IM SORRY IM LATE
When she heard the sound of talking, Weiss tried to head toward it. In a maze, it wasn't the easiest task, but since she'd lost her previous company that had been who she was looking for. When she finds Athrun and Yang, she's got a white board around her neck. There is somewhere in the back of her mind kicking herself for thinking calling out to Jaune would've worked since he was deaf, but when she sees two familiar faces, there's some clear relief.
Until she sees the hand holding. Which means instead of greeting them with relief, her greeting is more along the lines of..
"Are you two..?"
Re: IM SORRY IM LATE
Even blind she's not afraid to strut her stuff. Though not literally since she doesn't want to headbutt another lollipop wall. She's still gotta keep up appearances after all, even if her hair isn't as combed and reigned in as she'd like.
The sudden voice was familiar though. Yang turned her head towards the voice, eyes still obviously closed as she tilts her head.
"Weiss? Is that you? What are you doing here? And no, we're not. He's just helping me move ahead because I'm blind."
no subject
Athrun wasn't going to argue the fact that Yang was an extremely attractive young woman. But he's also much more of a gentleman than anything else due to his upbringing.
And then Weiss showed up and asked a question that caused more color to flood into his face.
"What -- er. Yeah. What Yang said."
Man, if he got through the day without getting embarrassed it would be a miracle.
no subject
"Jaune's deaf, and I lost him. I was going to ask if you'd seen him, but that seems a little on the nose at this point. I can't smell anything. Are you alright, Athrun?"
Might as well find out what everyone's messed up senses are.
no subject
"I'm perfectly healthy. I'm here because I wanted to lend a hand."
Pause. Athrun remembered that he's currently holding Yang's hand. As soon as he realized that, he facepalmed.
"Pun not intended, of course."
no subject
Now, three may not mean that there's going to be everyone, but it's still a good number of people.
"Hey, Weiss. Wanna help me and find us the well? You'd get the water too so kill two birds with one stone and all that."
no subject
"It's just as good as wandering around trying to call for a deaf boy. Sure."
no subject
"All right, let's go. The path goes on this way."
Athrun took the lead, maintaining a firm grip on Yang's hand. There was only one path to go in their current location, so might as well walk down it.
no subject
"Alright, lead on you two. I'm really hoping there's no pitfalls or something..."
no subject
"So far it just seems like old rusty equipment. The worst thing we'll run into is probably a couple of pop-out signs. The scariest part of the first thing I did with Jaune was trying to keep him from throwing up."
Weiss seems fine with going ahead. She'd rather be in front than behind two taller people holding hands.
no subject
"Throwing up? Do I want to know what prompted that?"
Athrun let Weiss take the lead, though he continued to remain as alert as he was physically capable of. "But yeah. So far, nothing out of the ordinary. Everything just looks like candy. Not real candy, naturally."
no subject
It's pretty easy to tell that around her normally uncovered legs there's some thick bandages around them.
"Hah. Jaune still isn't good with motion sickness? And I'd hope it's not real candy. It'd smell horrible in here if it is."
no subject
It'd be covered in bugs if that were the case. "I don't think anyone thought it was real enough that you had to specify."
no subject
"Better safe than sorry, right?" Athrun shrugged. "Besides, with this world, you never know what could happen. I'm sure we all remember the random teleportations, for example."
no subject
One too many late night club-hoppings can certainly bring that problem.
"...Jee, thanks for making me feel safer walking around blind, Athrun."
Last thing she wants is to end up teleporting who knows where with no one around.
no subject
Weiss looks a little crestfallen. her experience with the teleportation wasn't... one she wants to actively think about. It turned out fine after but it's still incredibly awkward and she's pretty sure it's a secret that was well kept by no one ever asking about it.
"If they had actual outdoor candy though, I'm sure bugs would've gotten to it long before it started smelling.."
no subject
Athrun grimaced as he continued to lead Yang along and follow Weiss. If only he could find something to say that wouldn't turn out wrong...
"That, too. Let's be grateful that's not the case." Because if it were, this would be a disease pit. He may be a Coordinator, but malaria could still threaten his life, enhanced immune system or not.
"Come to think of it, I just thought of something. Do the two of you have your communicators with you? We may have to split up if we reach a fork in the road."
Athrun had his with him, at least. He never left home without it.
