Singles Night @ Bright Sky Diner
It had started as a joke, but gradually more people were showing interest in the idea, and so Singles Night became a thing. It would be fun, the managers said, and it would hopefully gain some revenue. The event would have been advertised around the city, so when the night came, the staff there were waiting for a good turn out. They'd certainly gone to some effort.
MAIN AREA
The main part of the diner had been changed into an area made of larger tables to encourage mingling. Here there were buffet tables set up, and the lighting was warm and friendly. Light jazz music played very softly in the background to keep the atmosphere buzzing and happy. Maybe people would meet the love of their life here, or maybe they'd just meet a new friend.
BOOTHS
The booth along the walls of the restaurant remained as they were, but the lighting above the tables was muted for a more intimate feel. These areas of the restaurant would be quieter and there was no need for anyone to be nearby unless they were seeking a little more peace. These tables are ideal for people who have found someone they'd like to get to know a little better. It's relaxed, but pretty romantic, with candles on the tables too. These booths include table service, with quiet but friendly wait staff.
OUTSIDE AREA
Now this is the special place to be. The outside area of the diner has been transformed into a romantic and cosy place. Fairy lights decorate the fencing, and there are warm blankets on the benches too. This is a perfect place for those who want to cuddle up. After all, what better way to warm up than to sit side by side and admire the stars with the charming stranger you've just met?
[This is a mingle post! Feel free to add your characters anywhere you wish. Good luck on finding the one, making new friends, or trolling the singles. Have fun!~]

He tried to think back, pursing his lips, but finally shook his head. "I don't remember. I... It's just... I-I know about things. I-I've always known about things, b-but, I don't remember how I know them. L-Like cars and phones."
no subject
"It's good that those things weren't taken from you, along with your memories. Sylvari experience something similar, though not with a loss of memory but a differing method of creation. We are never children. It's, mm, curious." How strange was that here? Probably as strange as it had been on Tyria before there were thousands of his kind.
no subject
At first, he was surprised, but after a moment to think he mused aloud to himself, "A-Actually, I don't think I saw m-many kids, either..."
Maybe humans were made some other way, too. He'd never thought about it, and never asked. He knew what a pregnant woman was, but he'd never seen one.
"How, How do you make new babies, then?"
no subject
"Individual sylvari don't reproduce. We share a single mother, the Pale Tree creates us all. That's an oddity even where I'm from." At least for sentient, friendly species. "Our companions, fern hounds, also come from the Pale Tree. They're born smaller and grow up, like a flesh and blood species would. I'm not entirely sure why."

And who was he to judge? He was the one who was supposed to have a childhood and didn't have any that he knew of.
He tilted his head, musing quietly to himself without really thinking about what he was saying, "Th-Thistle would be really disappointed if he met you..."
no subject
"Oh? Why is that? Have I done something wrong?" Trahearne sounded lightly amused rather than worried, there had to be a story to this.
no subject
"N-No... Thistle... He'd like you very much. H-He really likes handsome men. S-So... So he'd be upset that y-you don't have sex." A little blunt, but his friends hadn't been all that shy about sex talk. "H-He'd probably say..." he glanced up and thought about it for a moment, "H-He'd say it was a big waste."
no subject
"Sylvari- We- We're, ah, human like in many ways even if we can not bear children but, ahmm. Not that I, personally- um." He paused, putting a hand to his mouth as if to physically stop himself from talking and embarrassing himself further.

Usually he was the one having trouble finishing sentences, so it was a little strange to see Trahearne have trouble. There might have even been a bit of confusion on his face, wondering what the problem was. But, after a few moments - which might have felt all too long - a light came on in his head.
"Oh... Y-You can?"

He stared momentarily, mostly because he was surprised as well. But, then he just broke out into a smile. "H-He'd be really happy to hear that. B-But... But he'd like you either way, because y-you're nice." He glanced up in thought. "I-I think everyone in my lec... my guild would l-like you."
Really, he could probably shock many people with the subjects he would broach. No one ever saw it coming from him.
no subject
"I'm glad I've left a good enough impression on you for you to say that. I would love for the chance to meet him." As long as they all didn't make comments about his appearance.
no subject
"H-He's really nice. Y-You would really like him."
Not an uncommon thing for him to say in general. There tended to be an assumption from him that if he thought people were nice then they would all get along. Because they were nice.
He became a bit hesitant about his next words. "C-Can... Can I show you something?" Almost immediately he added, "B-But you have to give it back. B-Because it's mine."
Not that he didn't trust Trahearne. He did. This was just immensely important to him and he felt it necessary to add.
no subject
He frowned slightly, was it something quite serious? Perhaps not, Bracken was very nervous and it was reasonable to cherish anything from the worlds they came from.
"Of course, I wouldn't dream of taking it from you."
no subject
He dug out a small piece of paper from his pocket, about the size of a post-it note, and offered it to Trahearne.
"Th-Thistle gave this to me," he said plainly.
The contents of the note... weren't much. There was a triangular drawing a pie, that was scribbled over with a small note next to it saying that it "wasn't cute enough". Then, there was a second attempt at a pie drawing, apparently more successful than the first drawing, and the word "Cutiepie" written on it. And that was it.
"H-He used to give me notes so I wouldn't... I wouldn't forget wh-what I was supposed to be doing," he explained.
Of course, that note didn't really have any descriptions of 'what he should be doing' on it. "S-Sometimes he put notes in my p-pocket that just said nice things. I... I liked those."
There wasn't anything particularly deep or meaningful on the note. It was just a nearly mindless scribble given to a friend, but it meant a lot to him.
no subject
How could one not smile at that?
"I think I would like him, like you say. I'm glad you have such a kind friend." He carefully offered the note back, it's not like there was that much to look at. "Thank you for showing me. I've gotten plenty of notes as reminders myself, none quite so lovely as that."
no subject
"Wh-When he comes here, I'll introduce him to you f-first." Since Ted had told him he would meet his friends again, he considered it a 'when' rather than an 'if'.
It was taking all too long, though.
"I... I should probably go home to K-Katze. But... But can you c-call me, when I can meet Tannusen? I'd like to learn more about h-how to do the magic."
no subject
"Of course, I'll speak to him the next chance I get." Tannusen might not be home, after all. "Have a pleasant night Bracken."
no subject
Really, he was happy he had met Trahearne there. Even if it was supposed to be a single's night. The other man was so kind and knew so much, and he felt comfortable around him. It was a very pleasant experience.
He shifted out of his seat and stood up, just barely bowing. "S-See you. Good luck... Well, g-good luck doing whatever you want here."
He didn't seem to be looking for dates, but he surely could do something. Or maybe a date would find him. That wouldn't surprise Bracken.
Never in a rush, he walked off at a leisurely pace, eyes still scanning the area to see what other people were up to.
