Singles Night @ Bright Sky Diner
It had started as a joke, but gradually more people were showing interest in the idea, and so Singles Night became a thing. It would be fun, the managers said, and it would hopefully gain some revenue. The event would have been advertised around the city, so when the night came, the staff there were waiting for a good turn out. They'd certainly gone to some effort.
MAIN AREA
The main part of the diner had been changed into an area made of larger tables to encourage mingling. Here there were buffet tables set up, and the lighting was warm and friendly. Light jazz music played very softly in the background to keep the atmosphere buzzing and happy. Maybe people would meet the love of their life here, or maybe they'd just meet a new friend.
BOOTHS
The booth along the walls of the restaurant remained as they were, but the lighting above the tables was muted for a more intimate feel. These areas of the restaurant would be quieter and there was no need for anyone to be nearby unless they were seeking a little more peace. These tables are ideal for people who have found someone they'd like to get to know a little better. It's relaxed, but pretty romantic, with candles on the tables too. These booths include table service, with quiet but friendly wait staff.
OUTSIDE AREA
Now this is the special place to be. The outside area of the diner has been transformed into a romantic and cosy place. Fairy lights decorate the fencing, and there are warm blankets on the benches too. This is a perfect place for those who want to cuddle up. After all, what better way to warm up than to sit side by side and admire the stars with the charming stranger you've just met?
[This is a mingle post! Feel free to add your characters anywhere you wish. Good luck on finding the one, making new friends, or trolling the singles. Have fun!~]

Sonico - Main Area
She had been shopping for the occasion, and the shop assistant had assured Sonico that she would be dressed in just the right ensemble to heighten her 'assets' as she called them.
So, Sonico lingers by one of the tables as she enters, eyes watching the room carefully, but unsure about entering any conversations herself. Tonight, Sonico is wearing a pale pink dress, short but loose around her thighs, and with a flattering sweetheart neckline. Her hair is tied up casually, and she is wearing a little more make up that usual - more mascara, and her lips are shiny with gloss. Still hovering by one of the tables, Sonico fingers the hem of her white cardigan as she wonders if maybe she's just out of her depth - what does she know about charming handsome men?
no subject
And it occurs to him that he can make some fun of his own.
He doesn't approach from the front, because that would be too easy - he meanders around the room to make his way behind her, stealthily approaching until he's well within her personal bubble, leaning in towards her ear...
"Boo."
It's a stupid trick, but it never gets old.

He was also skirting around the edges, trying to hide his embarrassment.
When Sonico arrived, it was almost a breath of fresh air -- if Athrun could get past how amazing she looked tonight. But that was something he could do, at least. It wouldn't be the first time he was called upon to spend time with a gorgeous girl, after all. So he approached.
"Hey. Fancy meeting you here."
He doesn't look that confident, though. It's apparent he's out of his element.

Re: Sonico - Main Area
Granted, Ted's not Einstein, and Sonico's not a house, but the strange pink did make her easy to find for Ted, who typically isn't much for details. His clothes are almost as colorful as that hair.
"Good evening, Sonico! Modeler, musician, and now matchmaker. Quite the motley menagerie of...talents? [Darn, couldn't think of another 'm' word]
What brought this on?"

As he lay there, flitting about people and enjoying the fairy lights and atmosphere, he'd eventually get to a certain question. "Say, what sort of truth do you sometimes feel or think only you see? Come on, don't be bashful."
no subject
Tannusen was used to that. But, you see, when it came to cats, true faeries, and members of the Unseelie Court... well, any one of them wouldn't care. As it happened, Tannusen was all of the above. And bored. Bored tigers were dangerous creatures, even when they paraded around in human skin. Bored faeries... well, one got the picture.
"You're going to have to be a little more specific there," Tannusen's voice was a silky purr by default. Now was no exception. "Only me... ever? Only me... on this world? Both?"

Abel is here for the free food and drinks. It's a buffet, after all. He completely dismissed the "romance" and "mingling" part. A part of his mission as a priest? Abstain from marriage until all of his sins are accounted for. Still, he tried to stay way from people, because it's evident he's coughing and sneezing badly in his handkerchief, a nasty runny nose and phlegm, by the warrant of his wheezing sounds his throat makes, and nobody is kind enough to say God bless you, nope this is single's night, not a place for a sickly priest who mosey around for free food.
Of course, he shouldn't be here. He has a cold. Guess whose he caught it from, though to be fair, it's more from stress and overwork. So, much of his throat is affected and Abel couldn't much speak much, and eating and drinking cold drinks hurts like heck.
However for Ted, he'll make an exception...if not with a bit of humor. He points at his rosary cross that hangs like pendulum from his chest, then makes the sign of cross with the gesture of his hands on his forehead, chest, then left, and right.
Anyway to answer Ted's question. "The..." Coughs, hack, handkerchief. "Word." He rasped, battling laryngitis, followed by a dry laugh as he helps himself to a glass of wine.

[Namur has set himself up at the end of one of the larger tables, dorsal fin pointed away from most of the traffic. If it seems like there's a hole in the buffet, the mystery of what once was there is now solved. He just took the entire platter of sushi and sat it on the table in front of him. It's close enough to graze, but not so close he looks like he's hoarding it. He gestures her over.]

Hell, how many people could he screw with?
So he's here, tucked off to one side with a drink in one hand, sipping as he watches the growing crowd with an equal measure of distaste and amusement. He's dressed a bit better for the scene, not donning his usual combat gear for this outing (though to say he wasn't ready just in case would always be incorrect). And yes, he's wearing his sunglasses inside. That's just how he do.
He sips, and he waits. Someone had to make a fool of themself eventually. ]
I couldn't resist...
Well, aren't you a sharp-dressed man?

But he was here because that tiger had dragged him here and then ditched him. He stared down at his plate and absentmindedly pushed a stringbean around while trying to make himself annoyed at Tannu. In the end he was more resigned than anything. It would be rude to just leave wouldn't it? ...would it?

But he spotted a face that was no doubt very familiar by now. It hadn't taken Bracken long to start living out of his new home, well before everything was ready, so he'd been around quite a bit for its construction, often quietly watching what was happening. Even if there wasn't a ton of talking going on, he was very grateful for Trahearne's efforts. And happy to see a familiar face.
"Y-You're part of this p... party?" One could almost say he crept up on him, inching closer silently before suddenly speaking.

He was enjoying himself, watching the people as much as the sky, whenever no one was looking his way. Whenever the staff wasn't looking his way, he lit up a cigarette. If a suspicious look was ever shot his way, something nearby would suddenly tip over, giving whatever unlucky staff member something else to focus on. What a coincidence.
no subject
He wasn't paying attention to a single thing and certainly hadn't just made one of the fairy lights (honestly, fairy lights?) drop off its line and right into someone's drink, still crackling with residual electricity.
Nah. Clumsy, clumsy Tannusen, whose gait was as smooth as ice over a still lake, somehow managed to trip over the blanket-cocooned Ni and come crashing down straight at the human. Whoops!

Sakuya - Everywhere
However she was very effective at what she did and damned if she wasn't going to ensure that everyone's day was as perfect as she could make it.
If someone wanted the maid as a companion during the event they would have to wait until she was done with her shift. If one could make it past her could outer demeanor, that is...

Needless to say, he was very confused. It had seemed busy as he approached, but then he got a better look at what was going on. And it wasn't until he had entered that he realized what was going on. Some sort of matchmaking event.
This resulted in him leaning forward, forehead in hand, and eyes closed in embarrassment as he waited at his booth for the waiter. And as chance would have it, Sakuya's shift was nearly over...

Blaze - Booths
So needless to say, when he'd gone in and saw the massive group, he was more than a little surprised. But, thinking it might have just been someone else's social gathering, he ducks off to a corner booth as to not disturb anyone... even if the different lighting above was a little weird. He does find himself looking over occasionally at the other people there regardless. What in the world was all of this about?]
Re: Blaze - Booths
So she decided to fetch herself a large glass of cold water. Sonico moved to the edges of the room and was passing the booths when she noticed Blaze sitting there. So she stopped, and smiled*

The answer was simple enough. He traveled to Genessia every now and then to visit Father Abel, and happened to see this place while walking. There were all kinds of people there and they looked like they were having fun. He was curious what was going on, but nervous about getting involved. He had no idea it was a single's night or anything else - surely his boyfriend wouldn't approve.
Oh, but all those people. He wanted to have fun like they were. Fretting, he stood on the fringe of the party, like someone peeping in through the window - although it other people were outside, too, so thankfully he didn't look like a creeper. He didn't see anyone he knew right away and wasn't sure if he was allowed to join.
But, at least it felt nice to see so many other people enjoying themselves.

"Oohh?" he joined in on peeping into the window, "is it more interesting this way?"

And so the high priest wandered around the area, peering with interest at the lights on the fence and then at some of the other patrons. Would he get in trouble for smoking? One way to find out.
He set his cider down long enough to fish his pipe out of his sleeve and light it. Tobacco smoke curled up into the crisp, cold night air. Mm, much better.
no subject
First he looked up at the sky, examining the stars, again, to see if there were any patterns he might recognize. No, there never was. He looked around next, gaze skating over those already engaged in conversation, and stopped on Koumyou. Even in this strange world, the monk stood out, in those bright white robes and scroll on his shoulder. A magic user, Trahearne assumed.
"Is that allowed?" he asked as he drew near, pointing to the pipe.

Outside~
And yet, when the night came, there she was. Companionship and romance are two entirely different things, she told herself. Besides, hadn't everyone earned a chance to kick back a bit and enjoy meeting new friends?
The main area had gotten overwhelming quickly, though, with all the soft buzz of conversation around her amplifying in her head. A booth seemed too lonely when she was just there to socialize on her own. And so she found herself outside in the chilly evening air, which was honestly not all that bad. Kagutsuchi was hardly a balmy place. This was basically the sort of weather she was used to.
And so, Litchi hung back a bit, letting her throbbing headache die down, quietly watching the stars and the people.
This wasn't too bad at all.]
no subject
Admittedly, a little after arrival, Thirteen found himself pretty disappointed with the showing; most of the people here were considerably younger than he was, and he felt horribly out of place. Even if he looked good for his age, seeing a lot of teenagers and people in their early twenties made him a little uncomfortable. Worse, there was little in the way of good drinks present, so he quickly ended up finding his way outside. Not that the decor inside was bad, though. It's just there weren't many peers in there.
He hung back from the crowds and couples huddled outside, though. Instead, he merely watched for a chance to engage someone. ...And sure enough, a familiar face was present. He admitted, he was surprised to see Litchi at a single's night event. She struck him as someone who would've found a significant other quite quickly... and easily, at that. But hey, regardless of that angle, it'd be nice to go spend time with someone that was a peer, regardless of setting.
He approached her.]
Evening, Miss Litchi.
