Singles Night @ Bright Sky Diner
It had started as a joke, but gradually more people were showing interest in the idea, and so Singles Night became a thing. It would be fun, the managers said, and it would hopefully gain some revenue. The event would have been advertised around the city, so when the night came, the staff there were waiting for a good turn out. They'd certainly gone to some effort.
MAIN AREA
The main part of the diner had been changed into an area made of larger tables to encourage mingling. Here there were buffet tables set up, and the lighting was warm and friendly. Light jazz music played very softly in the background to keep the atmosphere buzzing and happy. Maybe people would meet the love of their life here, or maybe they'd just meet a new friend.
BOOTHS
The booth along the walls of the restaurant remained as they were, but the lighting above the tables was muted for a more intimate feel. These areas of the restaurant would be quieter and there was no need for anyone to be nearby unless they were seeking a little more peace. These tables are ideal for people who have found someone they'd like to get to know a little better. It's relaxed, but pretty romantic, with candles on the tables too. These booths include table service, with quiet but friendly wait staff.
OUTSIDE AREA
Now this is the special place to be. The outside area of the diner has been transformed into a romantic and cosy place. Fairy lights decorate the fencing, and there are warm blankets on the benches too. This is a perfect place for those who want to cuddle up. After all, what better way to warm up than to sit side by side and admire the stars with the charming stranger you've just met?
[This is a mingle post! Feel free to add your characters anywhere you wish. Good luck on finding the one, making new friends, or trolling the singles. Have fun!~]

"Perhaps. There is that training facility in Nova City, yes? From what I understand, we could even fight all-out without worry."
He paused, before adding, "I haven't visited it myself, yet. I'm afraid Nova City is simply too advanced for someone accustomed to the level of technology like what we have in Fayren to navigate alone."

"Actually, in Attleton, there is an arena where slain foes do not stay dead. You can have actual death-matches there and there is no consequence for losing... other than pain, of course. Which is motivation enough to improve."
"I will admit, though. I am partial to this place. My Lady has always been a monster and perhaps it has led to the thrill of life-or-death combat being preferable to me."
"Though, friendly duels with blunted blades is just as good, really." She added. Perhaps too quickly. "One does not always need to spill blood."

"I'm sorry. But when you refer to your master as a 'monster,' what exactly do you mean?"
He did register the other things that Sakuya had said. Personally, Holodeck'd seemed better to him, if only for the fact that the match would not be a real thing that happened. But this took precedence in Xander's mind.

Sakuya leaned back a little in the booth, staring off somewhere to the left for several moments before turning her eyes back to Xander. "She's a vampire. And an aristocrat. Kind but also monstrous. I am her bound servant though she never did keep me on much of a leash."
The maid picked her cup up again, taking a quick sip to hide her melancholy. "It's to be expected though. She needs servants to work and protect her while the sun is out. I would die for her just as I have taken lives in her defense. That is my role."
Sakuya's face had softened some, her gaze distant, having drifted back down to the table. Undoubtedly she felt as lost as she looked.

Sakuya's master was a vampire? Immediately that concerned Xander. After all, Everglade has vampires, and they are on far from friendly terms with the local human population. However, he consciously made an effort to refuse to judge Remilia. She wasn't there to present her own case, and he won't judge anybody based solely on their reputation. Even more so now that he's been given the opportunity to meet and get to know the Hoshidan royal family.
"Perhaps an apology is in order. I had no intention of making you sad. I let my curiosity get the better of me in spite of your pain, and for that, I am terribly sorry."
He said nothing more for a couple of minutes, as he worked more on his meal. Then, he had another idea.
"Is there anything else you would like to ask of me? I can tell you more about myself, or about my home, if you wish."
no subject
She managed a genuine smile. "As for asking questions... Hmm. Tell me of your world and your role if it is something you care to speak of. I must say your good manners and boast of swordsmanship has piqued my interest more than slightly."
no subject
He was also somewhat amused by the comment on his manners. It made him interested to see how she would react to further knowledge.
"I don't mind, at all. Truth be told, I am a prince of the kingdom of Nohr. The eldest, as a matter of fact. I trained in all sorts of skills, from etiquette to martial."

She quickly regained her composure, if a bit stiffly, though she found herself somewhat less hungry than before. Why did she have to be such a damn good servant? Why?!
"I... did not know this. Forgive me. Had I known you were royalty I would have been more mindful. Though I know its a poor excuse." A servant had to show their master's standing at all times, after all. Especially to others of high standing. "It's unsurprising though that someone of high standing would have a great many skills."
no subject
"Why are you apologizing? You have done nothing to offend me. Quite the opposite -- your company has been very enjoyable ever since we met." While there may be certain rules in Xander's realm, there's nothing prohibiting friendliness between classes. It's not even unheard of in Nohr's royal court for the royals to marry servants (and knowing Garon, he probably wooed some maids himself).

And because she had zero chill.
"I'm apologizing because I'm a servant. I worry that I've overstepped my bounds, though I'm pleased you find my company enjoyable. I have greatly been enjoying this time too." And because she hadn't shown him the proper respect she felt he deserved. She would fix that soon enough though.
She began nibbling at her plate of food again. Less hungry, but she took his more relaxed attitude as permission.
Wait, why was she seeking permission? Dammit.

Xander dived back into his own meal, finishing off the burger. He was more bothered by the fact that Sakuya was bothered than by how she had been acting toward him. As far as he was concerned, there was absolutely nothing out of place.
"Also, I am glad to hear you've been enjoying our time together. Perhaps when we finish here, we can go for a walk?"
