[ The device must be propped against something, possibly another book like the one lying open in front of the camera, though the angle is too sharp to see what the book may be. There are three more books stacked off to the right, and a fourth is added to the stack as Dorian leans into view, closing it and placing it atop the stack. ]
I find myself in need of aid.
[ He clears his throat before continuing. ]
First, I should thank everyone for their assistance when I first arrived. You were all most helpful. For those I've yet to meet, [ He inclines his head toward the camera in greeting. ] I am Dorian of House Pavus, and I find myself in need of assistance once again.
Nothing so dramatic as my arrival, of course. I was simply wondering if anyone may have a recommendation from whence to acquire a viable and quality mage's staff, preferably of an Inferno aspect, or, more likely and more conveniently, where to acquire components with which to assemble my own. I'm well and truly capable of casting without the use of a foci, but in a pinch, speed and finesse is preferable to only finesse.
I thank you for your time in advance.

[ He pauses for a moment before he leans forward against the desk. ] You wouldn't know anything about this ...Chimera illness, would you?
video;
I used to go to Fayren more often, but nowadays it's only in and out to get to my world's subarchway to stock up on supplies. [ There's a reason for that, but she's not going to go into it. ] I didn't know anything until I read it in the paper. I'll ask Sun, though. He works there. He's not a mage, but if anyone's heard anything it'd be him. I can ask him about a staff, too.
video;
[ He inclines his head in a brief nod. ]
I'll gladly welcome any information you can provide, however. Thank you, Weiss.

Everglade, Cloak and Dagger.
If by chance we don't happen to have the exact staff itself, we've everythin' a man needs to assemble his own without makin' one tromp across hill and dale for components.
[A beat]
So ye know how to craft then, do ye?
video
[ He's heard of Everglade, and he hasn't made his way over there yet. ]
Why yes, I can, and your establishment sounds promising.
[ A pause. ]
Tell me, is it true people are allowed to practice cannibalism there?
Re: video
Good, then I got a question for ye when ye arrive.
[Aaaand a grunt]
Tis true, if you're a vampire, a zombie, a werewolf or otherwise a creature in need of human flesh to survive. Rather than use our brains about it and employ the help of our exceedingly advanced neighbor city Nova to create a less murderous option though, you'll have to just walk through the deeper parts of the city with a very heavy stick and talk loudly about how good ye are at cricket.
video
I'd be happy to help, ser. What are you operating hours?

[Cue Icy laughing her head off.]
voice;
Always. Someone has to turn it into a lude reference.
[ A beat. ]
Unless, of course, you were not, in which case I'll just go and chastise myself.
[ And a sigh. ]
I do not require a staff, no. I just like avoiding doing things the hard way.
voice;
[There was nothing lude in her mind unless freezing people counted.]
voice;
[ And he's just going to leave the staff references at that. He's clearly spent far too much time around lude men. ]

I have to admit I wouldn't know the first thing about what exactly you'd need for you to do what you do. But I am interested in what your worlds magic was like.
video;
[ He pauses. ]
I don't have another reference point for comparison.
video;
[A pause.]
For example my magic comes from my eyes and usually my style is writing spells physically. Not always though, I have learn other world magic where the way to use it is different. Like whistling.
video;
Yes, that was precisely my point. I could tell you that reaching through the veil, pulling magic into my waiting palm, willing it into form, and releasing it can be likened to trolling your hand through a warm pond and letting the water slide through your fingers, but if you'd never done such a thing, it would be pointless.
I could tell you that snapping the energy to release it more quickly in succession or in tandom with another spell is quick and powerful, but makes your teeth taste funny, but I doubt you'd follow without having done it yourself.
[ He looks thoughtful. ]
So, your magic is a form of enchantment, then?

If you go to Everglade instead, there's a shop called Cloak and Dagger. They have all sort of magic artifacts.
[Video]
[ He's way too interested in the image on the screen, though. ]
...may I...yes. Cloak and Dagger. I've had it recommended and I intend to visit.
...are you a...a golem?
[ That is fascinating! ]

[Kay doesn't mind the staring or the question, he's used to it.]
The owner is a bit too serious at time but he really knows this stuff.
The short answer is no. The long answer implies concepts that not everyone here understands.

[If that's what it is, Natsu could probably use one.]
[Video]
Precisely. A staff isn't necessary, obviously, but they're useful tools.
[ He smiles. ]
And add a degree of drama to the whole affair.

Why do you suggest I not visit Everglade, exactly?
