Let the Cirque du Vrai begin!

OOC: The event starts today. It affects Attleton. Players can make their own posts and have fun with it or they can reply to this post with top levels and have fun that way! Up to you! There will be a separate log posted for the Showstopper on the 29th. Please note that if your character tries to enter the circus without a mask and costume (cannot be something your character already owned because it's not a disguise if it's theirs), they'll be prevented from getting in one way or the other. Don't try to get around it and don't try to be like WELL NO ONE CAN STOP MY CHARACTER!! If your character goes right past them they'll find themselves in the field the next day the second they go past the gates, capiche?? No cheating it's not fun for anyone.

As the sun sets in Attleton, a strange haze seems to glow over the barrier for a few moments before in the distance, a sequence of lights flickers on. The entrance sign first, then tents and merry-go-rounds and booths and all manner of dizzying fun illuminate just as darkness falls. It doesn't take more than a few seconds for the sounds of cheers and fun to fill the Attleton air. It almost seems like it's calling to you, inviting you in. As you approach, a man on stilts greets you. He explains that the flyers that have been floating around town with the wind and on the walls were all for this, the Cirque du Vrai! Become someone else to become yourself, step right up! You don't need to buy a ticket, you just need to buy a costume.

"There's a costume shop right next to the entrance for those who aren't prepared, and a master mask maker who will create any mask you desire, or leave it up to him once he decides what he thinks suits you. If you brought your own, that's fine too! The Cirque is here for days, there's time to spare! Don't let reservations drive you to despair! You'll miss out on fun if you let your life run all over the mystery we've so prestigiously spun. Test your skills, test your wills, find your chills, thrills, and pills. Here it is, the moment you've been waiting for is just beyond the gate! Accept who you are and you'll need none to commiserate!"

The man laughs, leaving before you can ask what that means to invite another in, and the game begins. Welcome to the Cirque du Vrai. Enjoy.

[So much for ladies first, but she sees his point. She'll stand aside and not stand too close.]

[Thankfully for her, the poor fellow he is going to let him fall into the water is a nervous circus-goer (thanks to his friends, of course). Besides, he doesn't want to let her dress ruined by the water.

However, after he threw all three balls to the target, all of them completely missed, much to the circus-goer's relief as he left the tank completely dry.]

Oh, my. I guess that means I didn't hit them. Why don't you try then?

[Part of a mistake she realized in the last contest was she had her veil down still. She did lift it, but kept the mask on as she held on to the first of three balls. She gently tossed the ball up and let it fall back into her hand. She was testing it while waiting for the next victim to enter the tank.

Then, she tossed it. It was a miss. She spent another bit getting to know this second ball, then she tossed it. Direct hit and the poor plebian fell in.

She drops her mourning veil back down, and turned half way to look at him with a smug smile.]

[Once he sees her getting a direct hit on the target, he knew that the second game is hers to take.]

Well, that means the second win goes to you.

[That means it's a tie-breaker for the third game.

Once he realizes this, the circus's magic starts to make him feel that these carnival games is getting boring. So what will be a good game for a tiebreaker?]

[She feels the same. None of the games seem suited for her to test his worthy to be her so-called "man of her dreams."

Perhaps there is one contest that will suffice. She reaches beneath the frills of her dress around her waist and draws out a pokeball.]

Accuracy does not impress me in the slightest. If you desire my company, then I long to see your strength. En guarde!

[Once he sees that she pulled out her Poke Ball, a small smirk appeared on the professor's face as he also takes out his own Poke Ball from his pockets, realizing that she made a perfect way to break a tie.]

Well then, I accept your challenge! Let's go, Graine!

[He then tossed the Poke Ball, releasing his Ivysaur as he cries in a determined tone, now ready to face his future opponents.]

Nidoking! Rally forth and defend my honour!

[She tossed her pokeball, releasing the brute of a companion with a stomp and a roar. Nidoking always fancied itself her guardian, and it looks ready to defend her honour

[So she chose a Nidoking? He would try to be cautious around him, yet the circus's magic still got a hold of him, which his only thoughts are to win at all cost and to prove himself to the young queen.]

Graine, use Petal Dance!

[His Venasaur then creates a tornado of petals around him before he shoots it at the Poison/Ground-type. As for the circus-goers, once they saw the ongoing battle, they quickly ran away from the battlefield while some who were interested watched it unfolds.]

Don't let it best you. Hold fast, and Focus Energy!

[She couldn't care less about the possible damage the battle might cause. Nidoking covered it's face to ensure the Petal Dance, flexing its muscles in preparation to show the plant who is King. All Nidoking has to do is look for an opening.]

[Looks like by the looks of things, she tries to let her Nidoking endure one of Venusaur's powerful moves while trying to strike back at the right time. Well, he will see about that.]

Now, Sweet Scent to lower his guard!

[His Seed Pokemon then releases a sweet-smelling pollen around his flower on his back for the Drill Pokemon to smell.]
