Alright, I should really come out and ask.... More so with something I saw recently, so I gotta ask peoples honest opinions. [She took a small breath for a moment, looking down at the device.]

What do people honestly think about those who choose every aspect of another persons life? I mean like everything? I'm asking for... personal reasons.

It was very different from the music back home. Not bad, necessarily, but definitely not what I'm used to.

What? No. This one's not about freaking topography either. It's talking about being there for someone, and how nothing's going to keep them from getting to them if they need them. It's not literally about mountains.

Relax, I was joking. Kind of. Does that kind of talk actually work on humans?

Oh no. Not this 'humans' stuff again. Are you going to tell me that if the person you cared about you that nothing in the universe would keep them from reaching you, it's not going to tug at the heart-strings a little?

The song's got mountains and valleys because the scale's smaller. Where I'm from? Humans are kinda alone out there. Mountains are a pretty big natural obstacle. Plus, y'know, they gotta make it sound good - it's a song.

[He knows the song touched him, and he knows his mom loved it enough to include it. He knows it works on him. He was also like eight the last time he saw a human before getting here so seriously, you've got more recent interaction with them Garrus. He knows media and sappy over the top stuff. It's why he's a dork.]

Mountains are supposed to be big. They're mountains. [And no one knew the pain of crossing them as much as Garrus. For some unknown reason Shepard loved to drive the Mako up 87 degrees of cliff face and he was the one stuck with keeping that excuse for a car ticking. Not an easy job with the wear and tear from that.

More recent interaction or not, Garrus is not the best in the romance department.] Don't make this about me; I don't know what makes humans tick. [Though he's pretty sure this song is about Shepard. Even Sovereign raining down on top of them didn't keep her away from her crew. Though that was all in the past now.]

Yeah. Mountains being big is kind of the point.

[Peter sighs, very audibly.] Again with the human thing. Look man, I don't think I've met any species out there that's sentient and doesn't do some kind of emotions, okay? I'm not asking you to know what makes humans tick. If it's a touchy subject that's cool, I can respect that. But if you're gonna tell me humans are the only things in the galaxy that feel shit or can relate with this song I'm going to have to call bullshit on you buddy.

[Yeah, touchy might be one word for it.]

I'm not saying other species don't feel. But I'm pretty sure what they consider romantic varies. So the idea of someone being willing to traverse any obstacle they might come across just to see you again... [Aw hell. That actually was pretty nice.] Maybe that one's universal. But I doubt the message in each of your songs applies to every kind of alien out there.

Well, I mean, no. It's not even going to apply to every human out there. But you kind of don't strike me as a dick so I thought my chances were pretty good.

Anyway. I tend to go on more of an individual basis. Universal personalities kind of aren't a thing where I'm from.

Yeah, I'm not sure universal personalities are a thing anywhere. Even people brought up in the same environments are different. Hell, I sure as hell am not your average turian.
