Honestly?

[ She already knows her father won't think she's talking about him at all, so it's not hard to publicly speak about this. If anyone asks she can just deny it, right? She swallows briefly, folding her hands in her lap. ]

I think those people.. mean well, but may not realize that their choices aren't always the kinds of choices that that person wants or needs to make. I think it's hard for them to give up control or to even understand that with all that effort they've put in that there are still other needs that the person they've been controlling needs to fulfill. No one can be who they truly are if their life is run by another person, and by trying to pigeon-hole their potential into what they want instead of ever asking what the individual in question needs, they can make that person feel suffocated, alone. Worthless if they try to step out of line or exhibit qualities other than what's expected of them for better or worse. It doesn't mean that they don't love that person whose life they're trying to run or vice versa, but a person can love possessions too. It doesn't mean someone should be treated like one.

[ But it's not hard to figure out what this girl 'saw recently' to bring up such a question. The personal reasons, though.. Weiss provides a small smile. She doesn't know the situation but she can at least provide some advice. ]

Forcing my way out of that situation was the scariest thing I've ever done, but it was worth it. I was able to find who I am and who I want to be. That's not something I'll ever give up again or let him take from me.

[Krista crossed her arms slightly, honestly the more she thought about it she more she was starting to see how controlling her mother was. She was just use to it because it was all she had known her whole life. It was something she had honestly thought was normal that mothers were meant to be like that. With the things she knew about her parents as well... It made her wonder if the divorce was because of her controlling nature.]

One doesn't get much of a choice, I get that. I just felt it was wrong to think otherwise that the line 'Mother knows best' was always correct. She would do those things for my best interest. Though now I really think about it... Choosing who I can and cannot be friends with is probably a little too much.

[She remembered when she was finally allowed to go to school. To a high school and she saw people who barely knew each other, talk, make friends. Yet she was told of which people to talk to, who would be of benefit... That was probably her first sign that she choose to ignore.]

I know she want's what best and now I really think of it... I really did feel worthless if I made one small mistake with my dance routine. Felt stupid if I wanted to try something different in my acting or singing. I wasn't really allowed to be a teenager because I had to be the perfect actress. [She pauses.]

I know she loves me... In her own extremely strange way, but I guess it wasn't healthy... And that I do need to do things myself. [Now she laughs and rubs her hands on the back of her head.] However being an individual is not just scary but also confusing when one has had someone dictate their life for as long as they remember. So how exactly would one do that?
