Koishi liked to hang out near the bay. She liked to greet new arrivals as they came. But today was a rather unusual circumstance. Yes, she could see the new arrival there with his oddly colored teeth and rather spectacular hat... but at the same time she had a half eaten rabbit in her hands and claws soaked in blood.

Well. You couldn't win them all. And so she just continued to chew as she watched this newcomer, confident that her abilities would keep her cloaked from sight. She would greet him properly once she had cleaned up.

Wow it smells like blood. He knows that smell.

A crack, his head swivels sharply without the rest of him, the visible eye locking in her direction. The smile then splits wider, a thin trail of oddly colored drool starting to trickle down the very corner of his mouth, a forked tongue sliding out to lick it away for a moment-

"Well. Hello there~"

Koishi blinked and shifted her jaw, the bone in her mouth audibly cracking under the force of her jaw. Oh. Well. She hadn't expected to be seen. She recognized that look though, glancing once down at her rabbit.

"Oh. Hello." A pause. Well, this was awkward. "Um... Would you like some? I just killed it so its really fresh."

"Yes, I can tell, still warm. Old blood has a distinct, somewhat duller scent." Fouler too, but hey. He's eaten worse.

Fresh though? Sounds good to him.

"I'd be delighted to have some, how thoughtful of you."

A snapping noise, like a thin bone crushed between two fingers, and a tentacle snaps out to grab a chunk. A leg, the head, doesn't matter.

Whatever he gets is reeled back just as quickly, and vanishes into the sharp maw, gore spattering this way and that.

Thank God, he didn't want to spend his free money on food, that'd be a waste.

"Are you a local here?"

Koishi blinked as the tentacle zipped out grabbing basically the entire remaining rabbit. The little youkai hadn't really been keeping good hold of it, simply staring down at her claws and blinking several times.

"Oh... You must have been really hungry to eat it all so quickly." And thus began the process of licking the blood from her fingers. "My favorite part is the bones. They're fun to crunch on." And how!

"Oh! I'm not a local though. I'm from another world like you." A tentacle slid from her sleeve to reach below her collar and withdraw an amulet. "See? Anyone with an amulet is from another world. But you're really interesting Mister. You have a really nice hat and tentacles just like me! I've never met anyone like that before!"

It's too bad her hands were so bloody or she'd try to hug him.

The eye in question swayed merrily from side to side, one of the arteries looping itself into a loose heart.

"I would put a red ribbon on my hat but red doesn't work so well on me. It looks really really great on you though. So that's good." With one hand cleaned of blood she started on the other.

I've found that a nod towards cliche adds a bit of charm to a good presentation. It invokes nostalgia.

"I like to pluck the pins from them and save them as tooth picks, myself."

She pulled out a wrapped piece of taffy and offered it. "Sis made these for me. They have just a little bit of oni sake in them so they have some kick."

I was going to showcase my recent long range hand held anti aircraft collection for the summer season. Good weather means an increased chance in aerial attacks, after all.

We also have, for the more personal touch, a small sampling of our semi automatic and fully automatic assault rifles, for the man who would just as soon prefer to jump into the fray and get acquainted with everyone.

She didn't really comment on his partial lie, though she noticed it. Instead she seemed baffled by his ability to make the taffy vanish. "Ohh. Wow! That's a really neat power Mister! What sorts of other things can you make vanish? Because that's a really useful power!"
