Forward Dated 30th July: Sonico's Anniversary

*Sonico is smiling and waving in a friendly way at the camera. There's a large wild cat sat purring happily on her lap, but he seems pretty sleepy, only occasionally lifting its head towards the device*

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone is having a lovely day. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I have been a part of this world for a year now and...I was quite lonely and scared when I first arrived. But now, I have such a wonderful group of friends and I am very happy here. So thank you, everyone, for being so welcoming and supportive. It means a lot.

Tonight, I'll be singing down at Hangar Queen. If you want a drink, just put it on my tab! 

[Action - Hangar Queen]

*There she is, on the stage, doing her thing. In full military outfit, Sonico is giving a very energetic and upbeat performance tonight. There are smiles and thanks between the songs. When she is done, there's time for mingling and chatting and some drinking too*

[Action - Closed to Mobius]

*At the end of the evening, it was time to go home. Sonico would finally have to change from her military uniform and back into her standard casual clothes, and then she'll go and find Mobius to see if he'd accompany her home. She scans the room for him first, because if he's busy and looks like he's having a good time she won't want to grab him away*

*Sonico had never thought of it like that before, so for a moment she looks mildly alarmed at the thought*

It's okay, I don't think you need to say anything. But I know I would like to say thank you, but being such a good friend.

[ He looks a little taken aback for a moment, but then his guarded stance relaxes visibly. ]

Then I should thank you, too. Our friendship was unexpected. [ To say the least. ] And now I'm very grateful for it.

*Sonico giggles at that, remembering how they met*

But I'm glad. I am too. And moving to Attleton with you and Kay has been good for me, I think.

I think it's been good for all of us... slowing down a little.

[ Being forced to be part of a community, for him, pushing him outside the comfort zone he could have stuck to in a large city. ]

Do you still miss Genessia? I think sometimes that Kay misses it. I didn't really live there long enough to grow attached to the city, though I was fond of our apartment and living right next to Bodhi.

*Sonico nods slowly and knowingly - she could work hard enough that she'd work herself sick, but that hadn't much been the case since moving*

Hm? I think I do sometimes.

*She pauses and glances more at the floor than at Cassian as she continues*

Do you...wish you had stayed...?

[ It would be easy to simply brush it off, but he thinks about it for a moment before shaking his head. ]

No. Life is better this way. Attleton's better for us... and so is the house. This.

[ He looks at her pointedly. He just wishes Bodhi weren't so far away, living a completely different life, theirs barely touching anymore. ]

*Sonico gives him a small smile for his comment and nods. She doesn't know about Bodhi, so can only assume that the two of them must miss their privacy. She makes up her mind to give them a bit of space some time soon*

Good. I'm glad that you're happy, especially with being guardian and all. That's good.

[ Alas, if only he knew he has phrased that very badly. All he does is nod in agreement. ]

I'm happy with it. I truly do think the move to Attleton, and everything that followed, was for the best. Have you gotten used to small-town life yet?

*Sonico nods, looking at least a little better now that he has mentioned being happy*

I like it a lot. It's so much easier to ride my bike, and I can easily still get to the cities whenever I want.
