Forward Dated 30th July: Sonico's Anniversary

*Sonico is smiling and waving in a friendly way at the camera. There's a large wild cat sat purring happily on her lap, but he seems pretty sleepy, only occasionally lifting its head towards the device*

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone is having a lovely day. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I have been a part of this world for a year now and...I was quite lonely and scared when I first arrived. But now, I have such a wonderful group of friends and I am very happy here. So thank you, everyone, for being so welcoming and supportive. It means a lot.

Tonight, I'll be singing down at Hangar Queen. If you want a drink, just put it on my tab! 

[Action - Hangar Queen]

*There she is, on the stage, doing her thing. In full military outfit, Sonico is giving a very energetic and upbeat performance tonight. There are smiles and thanks between the songs. When she is done, there's time for mingling and chatting and some drinking too*

*At the end of the evening, it was time to go home. Sonico would finally have to change from her military uniform and back into her standard casual clothes, and then she'll go and find Mobius to see if he'd accompany her home. She scans the room for him first, because if he's busy and looks like he's having a good time she won't want to grab him away*

[ Mariko struck a deal with Gale a while back about being a performer in both his clubs. Today, she's scheduled to play a few songs in Hangar Queen, wearing an outfit she had made in Nova City just for her shows in this particular club. On queue to be among the next performers, Mariko watches Sonico on stage while sitting on the sidelines with a glass of soda next to her. Sitting with one leg crossed the other, Mariko shows her support with a small clap. ]

Nice job out there, pinkie.

[ Mariko comments to Sonico right after her performance, raising her glass of soda at her friend ]

Been a while. How you been?

*Sonico greets Mariko with a smile, and touches her glass with her bottle of water with a small laugh*

Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to relaxing and hearing you perform too!

*She takes a long drink and nods in agreement, an apology in her eyes*

It has. I'm sorry. I've been well, but quite busy. How are you?

Likewise.

[ Mariko shrugs ]

Nothing fun's been really going on. Just been trying to put myself out there in the music scene. Training at the Holodeck, bounty hunting, found a new place to live, and performed at that charity concert at Nova City. You know the one with Weiss singing? Yeah, that's pretty much it that's noteworthy on my end. I live a life of excitement.

[ Mariko almost never tells anyone about her side-hobby doing dangerous things. Her bounty hunts tend to end in a firefight, especially in Nova City. But she mentions it all casually and made it vague enough to not sound like she's actively trying to kill herself. ]

Whelp. That cat has gotten big. At least Sakuya doesn't have to worry about anyone attacking Sonico in her home. Either way she would be showing up at the Hangar Queen.

She needed a break, and now that Lisa was doing significantly better, she could do just that. And a swanky show and booze was just what she needed.

Sakuya arrived dressed in her black and white pinstripes and black skirt with white embroidery. Not exactly 'casual' but certainly better than showing up in a full on maid outfit.

After getting herself a drink and pulling up a seat at a table in the back, she simply enjoyed Sonico's performance on stage, making sure to clap with everyone between the songs... and perhaps growing a bit more enthusiastic after the third drink. She really needed to de-stress, okay?

And once it was over she pushed her chair out, gradually making her way across the room to where Sonico was. Though it might take a little while. There were quite a few people and she didn't want to be rude.

When Sakuya did make her way across the room to her and Sonico was finished talking to anyone else, she noticed her friend and waved to her brightly, "Sakuya!" It was nice to see her, especially considering she wasn't sure that this was exactly her type of thing. As she approached, she appraised her friend's outfit, "I like the stripes on you."

Well, truthfully this isn't Sakuya's "thing" really. There were two many people. But Sonico was also there. And so was alcohol. And she really, really needed a break from everything that had been going on in her life.

"Ah, thank you. I did not feel like wearing straight black today. Too gloomy for a party. But that is less important than the star of the show. It is really nice to see you Sonico. You have a truly wonderful singing voice."

Sakuya was a fairly happy drunk so from her tone and her smile it was clear to Sonico that she had already indulged. At least enough to make her somewhat tipsy.

Damn, 's been a whole year already? Wonder how long I been here then?

[Namur rubs his finger under his gills, thoughtful.]

Anyway, congrats for hangin' in there! Been a hell of a trip, eh?

Isn't it crazy? Time really has just flown by.

*Sonico smiles, giggling quietly at comments*

It sure has! I have never been so busy or met so many people in my life. I think it has been good for me.

Daaaaamn, you've been here for a year. I've only been here five months.

[And she's overcome at least one issue in her life. Now so much the others she might not be aware of, but mother issues are a go.]

Must have been through a lot in that time.

Does it feel like it's been a long time to you? I can't believe it's been a year. But you're right, a lot has happened.

With certain areas it has. Work wise, not so much but filming, in general, can take months.

[She is currently filming two films at different times.]

Not so much everything else. Just feels like normal day to day life.

[He's still at work, so what Sonico sees as his background is Attleton's Guardian office.]

A year already. Time does flies when we are here. I'm glad we met.

*Sonico repeats with a smile, which widens at his next comment*

Should I get you a present? I don't know what's the norm for that kind of occasions.

You're a really good friend, Sonico. I consider myself very lucky.

[During the whole performance, Mobius' eyes were glued onto Sonico the whole time. It helped that she was in a military uniform, so Mobius had to snap out of it occasionally to make sure he wasn't gawking too much (or drooling even) because he sure didn't want to seem like one of those kinds of people. It was hard not to be entranced the whole time, and he thoroughly was enjoying Sonico's performance.

Once she was finished and out of sight and the usual music in the club began again (does this place always have to play Danger Zone?), Mobius' discomfort in the place was becoming apparent. The drinks and atmosphere were fine and everything (it was even appropriate that he happened to be seated in the "Raptor" section given the jet engraving on the table) but his eyes were constantly drawn to the purple butterfly pin on the hats of the staff. They looked exactly like that emblem he saw before, and it made him uneasy.

Luckily, he was eventually distracted by the sight of Sonico. A smile came to his face and his feathers perked, placing his drink back on the table.]

Managed to get away from your adoring fans, huh? You were fantastic up there.

*Mobius had seemed quite focused on something when she approached - was he fixated on one of the members of staff? That's none of your business, she tried to convince herself, though she did let her eyes follow the female bartender that just walked past.

When he smiled at her, though, she shook all that nonsense from her head and smiled back, blushing a little at his comments*

Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it. Have you been having a good evening?

It's always a good evening when you're around. [Smooth.] Especially when you're the one singing.

[He'll leave out the part where this place makes him uneasy solely because of those pins. It's something he'll have to look past if he wants to keep seeing Sonico perform, and he won't miss out on that because of something from home.]

Would you like to sit and have a drink? Get a bit of a breather?

[ Konoka hadn't been out of Genessia OR Everglade for a while now, so catching Sonico's notice about singing when she had a day off? Great.

It sure didn't hurt that Mariko was also performing there tonight, and the brunette wanted to be around to listen to her, too. She'd heard of both of their talents, but it's been a while since she last seen them in person! So the brunette is excited. ]

That was wonderful, Sonico-han!

[ Konoka said that after she was done. ]

*Sonico smiles happily at Konoka's compliment, waving her hand dismissively, but understanding that for many people it was the right thing to do to accept praise*

Oh, I'm doing alright! Things got super scary in Everglade, but lately one of my mentors showed up! It's great meeting with an old friend even if she's waaaaayyyy from the future!

[ Cassian won't have time to stay long, but busy or not, he can't possibly miss Sonico's anniversary party.

He arrives just in time to listen to the last two songs, and walks up to her afterwards. ]

*Sonico beams at Cassian when she sees him, just so pleased he could make it, if only for a little while. She knows how very busy he's been*

So... What am I supposed to say. Congratulations feel inappropriate, considering this is the anniversary of your kidnapping.
