[dogs. dogs everywhere. Genessia, Attleton, Nova City, Everglades, Fayren, wherever there is a pound or animal shelter, they've been sprung from them and are now baying through the streets or sleeping on doorsteps or rummaging through trash.

Through Genessia proper though, there is a pack of them, charging through the streets, baying excitedly. In the middle of them is one shirtless hat less pirate, rolling along on a skateboard despite the fact that his hands are cuffed behind him. At intervals, he'll throw back his head and howl as he goes along]

[a little later, he's sitting against a wall, breathless and excited, comm propped between his knees as he grins wildly at the camera though it, dogs sleeping all around him and a pooped pug on his head, snoring upside down with her legs twitching in the air]

Yo! I'm here. I'm back. Anyone got food? Or a key? Marco? Namur? Adela? [his grin widens] Taisa? Come find me. I'm free.

[Locked to whoever is in Namur's apartment]

[at some point, at Namur's apartment, this same certain pirate may be seen sleeping against the outside of the window, as if he was trying to jimmy it open with his teeth and conked out during the attempt]

[he sees her getting bowled over and grins as she laughs]

Sit! Sit. [the dogs obey and he comes to a stop on his skateboard, hopping off and crouching beside her] Hey. You okay?

[he'd give her a hand up but as both of his are cuffed behind him it's a little difficult]

[Such good dogs! Those in the inner rings around them actually sat, and a few of those not sitting actually went into fetch-mode and rounded up some of what had been in Minori's bag. Leatherworking tools, some pocket-sized notebooks, a trio of smashed eggs dripping from their now-flat carton, a few chunks of wood, and a bag of salt.]

[Once her giggles get under control, Minori will be able to sit up with ease... and several free head-pats.]

I'm alright, I just didn't expect that... Are they all yours?

[Give her some time to look beyond the wall of cute to notice his lack of free hands... She'll notice that eventually.]

Nah they're there own. [he notices her smashed eggs] Sorry about the mess. I can get you more eggs if you want.

[Hmmmm... She's going to take another rather confused look at the mass of dogs and actually note the lack of collars and tags.]

Oh! None of them have families, then?

[Poor puppers, Minori actually hits a Sweet Spot on one and she'll enjoy a few seconds of hind-leg-activation.]

The eggs? It's fine, mister. The place I'm staying at doesn't charge for food or rent, but I ruined some eggs earlier so I was going to replace them. It seems like some of the conditions of my previous world carried over...

[Aaand finally noticing the lack of free hands now. Which will gain him a curious look. She REALLY wants to ask, but... was it polite to ask someone why they were keeping their hands behind their back?]

Not really. They have packs though.

[he watches the one she's scratching] You should take her home. She likes you.

[at her words, he tilts his head]

[Someone has never had a pet before, obviously. She probably wouldn't be so sensitive to the dogs' body language if she weren't in her spiritually-tuned avatar.

She will look down at the dogs around them, and of course the one looking at her hoping for more scritches and take a few moments to think about it all. So many dark eyes looking at her with wagging tails... But could she really be what they needed?]

I'm not in my original body, actually, and attempts at performing tasks outside my current skill set are...

[It was probably better to show than tell with this sort of thing. After a few moments of pushing buttons on her phone, she'll turn it around to show Ace a picture of a frying pan. It wasn't clean and dark, and it wasn't full of white and gold breakfast treasures. The pan held slightly glowing masses of black with purple edges about the same size as three eggs.]

I don't have any cooking skills, so...

[Welp.]

Oh yeah? What's your original form? [he grins at the picture and laughs] Yeah that looks pretty bad! But food is food so as long as you can eat it who cares what it looks like?

[She'll consider that for a few moments, even going as far as to pull some of her hair into being visual.]

I suppose... I'm a little bit similar, but my hair is darker and I'm not quite as athletic...? Tohya and I thought it would be fun to look like our avatars.

[She would normally grow offended by his reaction, but... Seriously, her avatar isn't coded to do all the things she normally could. Ace will receive a petulant glare, though.]

The transition between failed cooking attempt and dissolving into nothing seems to last five seconds.

[The pup who'd been getting the most out of Minori's fingers evidently decided to pay her forward. Well, actually, he wormed his way into her lap and played up his best features. Namely, Rub Mah Belleh!

It's super effective!]

[Minori will be startled into rubbing the belly of an Akita cub. Minori: 0, Pup: 1.]

My main goal is to see what skills I may be able to attempt and fail while others new to this world are not so limited.

Avatars? [say what?] I don't really get what you're talking about but if it's a challenge you want there's a pretty cool dungeon to go through. Or running through Everglades.
