I--I'd like it if Navi came here. We could think of a way to get back home together. She's really smart.

"That eager to leave? Well, I know at least one other person trying to get home too, you could talk to him. Me, I'm happy here. I've got people who were dead and gone before I ever could have met them, others who I apparently die before I get to meet, and friends who usually drift in and out who are here with me. We can all be together."

I was in the middle of helping the princess. I need to go back and make sure she's okay and give her the stuff I collected for her.

I don't mind fighting monsters and stuff, and I don't mind meeting all the new people, but---this isn't where I'm supposed to be. There's hardly anyone from Hyrule here, either, they're all from other worlds.

"Well you know what? There are four people here with me who can travel time and space. Stick with us and when we leave, I'll make sure you get a ride back to when you belong." [Life was good where there were such easy fixes. And even if the Doctor said no, River would take him for her.]

[He brightened just a bit.]

Thanks. Because, Zelda is probably waiting for me, and we gotta make sure we stop Ga---stop the bad guy.

[She grinned.] "Sure, we once had a two week adventure in the middle of our anniversary party. I ran away with him the night before my wedding, nearly died a few times, back in time for him to crash my husband's bachelor party. I'll talk to River if no one else, we'll get you back to your Zelda. And who knows, maybe we'll even help you stop the bad guy." [She pushed the glasses up into her hair so she could wink.] "we love a good adventure."

I'd appreciate the help, ma'am.

[At least with getting home. Once Zelda had everything she needed, stopping Ganondorf was going to be a breeze.]

"No problem. So you relax, okay? Enjoy the time here, we'll get you back before anyone has a chance to notice you were gone."

[Link had been mostly okay with the promise of help home, but, his face fell.

How can I enjoy it here?

Saria's not here, Navi's not here, Zelda's not here--we all have to wear necklaces and we can't go home when we want. We're prisoners! The air even smells weird.

Maybe we need to find whoever did this and kick their a---er...butt!

[Link smacked his fist against his palm.]

Then everyone could go home!

[She chuckled a bit.] "Already looking into that. But butt kicking isn't exactly our way. Ours may not be as satisfying, but generally gets everyone what they want. I've been a prisoner before, learned a few things, but probably best to talk about it in person. Not over the net."

"The interne.... you know what? Why don't you come over for tea, and we'll talk in person?" [Maybe he'd have fun playing the Wii?]

"Sending you a map." [She did so.] "Look for the bright blue door."

[Well, Amy, you'll get a small boy with long ears on your stoop not too long after. He's a little unkempt and has a sword and a too-big shield strapped to his back.]

She opened the door and blinked down at him a moment, then grinned warmly. "You're shorter than you looked," she said. "Come on in. Got Mario Kart in the wii, and tea on the stove. There is custard and fish fingers in the fridge if you're hungry?"

I'm a Kokiri, we're kids.

[His statement was only half-true, pertaining to himself, but, he had no way of knowing that. Link's smile wavered a little, having no idea what about half of those things were.]

Tea is good, thank you.

"A kid huh?" she asked, smiling a bit wistfully. "Never got to raise my own kid, not really," she said softly, as she headed for the kitchen. "Tea, coming up."

Yeah. I'm supposed to be traveling with my fairy partner, but, she's not here.

[A brief hesitation.]

The Great Deku Tree raised me and everyone else, but, he died.

She came back out from checking the tea, a sympathetic look on her face. "I mostly travel with the Doctor and my husband. And whenever they're not with me, it's heard. But I'll tell you something I've learned from many hard hard years of experience? Death isn't always permanent, and people who love you will always come back. It may take them years, but those bonds are not easily broken, and they will bring you back to each other."

[Link looked very uncertain.]

See, that's the problem. I've left Navi, not her leaving me. And I'm trying to go back. But, if I can get back to her, she can help me get back to Zelda, and then everything will be okay.

She nodded. "That makes it a toss up if you're to return to them or they're to come find you. But then life always is. And like I said, we'll help you out, okay? Once we break out of this place, we'll bring you to the moment after you left. They'll never know you were gone unless you tell them." She considered, then frowned a bit, lifted a lock of his hair if he let her, then put the flat of her hand on top of his head. "Right. Kid, you'll shoot up like a weed. Okay, they might notice when you get back that you look a little older, but that's about it."

[Link shook his head with a slight smile.]

Oh, nah, I'm pretty much done growing. All Kokiri stop growing. S'soon, I will too!

"Alright, so if you keep your hair about the same, no one would notice. Seriously, it' disturbing how little people notice. But in a way, also comforting."

"Too bad though, bet all the Kokiri girls would swoon if you let your hair grow out. If you were a human kid, I'd say you were going to be a heartbreaker when you got older."

I doubt it. I was a freak for too long for any of the Kokiri girls besides Saria to like me.

[That being said, it seemed that at least two Princesses and a ranch girl seemed to like him.]
