Job Fair!

WHO: Anybody! Recruiters, set up a stall. Bums, get a job!
WHAT: Genessia is hosting a super fun job fair! Unsure what to do? Step up to the lucky lotto and get assigned a super fun lucky awesome job that the character MUST work for at least eight hours before returning to pick a new job from the lucky lotto. Or you could just pick a normal job that's being offered by normal people. That works too.
WHEN: December 8th - December 14th
WHERE: Genessia City - Encircling the Bay
NOTES: A thread will be posted for each day of the week, for those wanting to draw a random job. If you're up for wacky hijinks, tag the day you want your character to pick a surprise career and the mods will RP/assign a job. The character may choose to keep the job if they like it, or pick a new one the next day, but they're stuck doing that job for at least eight hours once the choice is made. HO HO HO!


As soon as the sun began to rise on the snow-dusted city, a quiet murmur in the streets steadily turned into a bustling commotion, with people carrying tables in pairs, filling balloons with helium and tying them to brightly painted signs, and catchy songs being played fighting for the attention of would-be job applicants. Cafes, the library, mall stores, the Genessia Tribune, property managers...everyone had something that needed to be done.

The most eye-catching display by far was the Lucky Lotto Career booth, with flashing lights, attractive "booth babes", and a large multi-colored wheel just waiting to be spun. On the wheel, numerous panels were pasted with a large glittery "?" on each one. Depending on where the wheel stopped, the panel would be peeled off to reveal one surprise job for anybody who needed a little inspiration for their aspiring careers. Why not step up and try your luck?

[Bob walks past the guy with his boombox on his shoulder, and peers at the sign. Slows down. Goes off to do something for a bit. Comes back. Tilts his head, looking sympathetically at the bored mechanic. Walks over, offers the poor bastard a green handshake, and leaves him with a blunt in his hand as thick as one of his chubby fingers.]

[He raises an eyebrow at the machanic, but he takes the handshake and the guy is walking off before he can even get two words out. But there's a cigarette in his fingers that looks suspicious, and he frowns at it as he goes to take a sniff to confirm-

-WOAH, nope. Yeah, that's what he thought it was. an no, he doesn't.... well, not since trying it out in his teens anyway. and yeah, no. Not that he doesn't appreciate the thought. Which is what makes him catch up to the guy rather than just toss it.

A quick few steps short of a jog close the gap easily, before he catches up with him enough to catch him on the shoulder.] Hey.

[He hands back the blunt with a slight grin.] Thanks, man, but I- I don't. If it was a liquid with a double digit percent, I'd be right there, you know what I'm saying? [It's been one of those days. And then the grin is a bit more as he adds-] It's actually one of the few illegal things I don't do. [Just because the fact you handed him a blunt means he can say that and not worry about shit starting.]

[Bob takes it back and shrugs amiably. But at the mention of "illegal" he just smiles, pulls out his folder, and removes a page that has a copy of the local laws on it. The bit about cannabis has been circled in red: not illegal.]

[The pause is slightly surprised, before he laughs] Dude, you're thorough. [He'll give him that.] But still no thanks. But hey - looks like you're the kind of guy who I could bring a fifth and a party to.

[...No, really. People mom keep telling him he should get out more. Or, you know, be out just as much but do less. Not his fault there's not enough hours in the day.]
