The first sign that something was going on that day hadn't been at the crack. It hadn't even been in Genessia, as a matter of fact. The first sign had been a sound not unlike a window shuddering in a heavy storm. It perforated the atmosphere within Everglade first.

Only a few moments later, Fayren would hear the same shudder echo through its forests, forcing birds to flee the cover of the trees. In the populated areas of the kingdom itself, it would be much quieter, as if it were miles away.

Then it would return to Genessia. The crack in the sky was rapidly saturated, thousands more than before forcing their whole shapeless bodies against the barrier. Some of the strange aurora-tinted color seems to press into their ranks, a few of the strange creatures being forced back, but quickly being replaced by another of its kind.

And a sickening crack could be heard in all archways near and far, but it was loudest in Everglade, where a new crack had formed. Two humongous cracks appeared in Everglade's barrier like a sinister grin as if it were laughing at the town just above the clocktower. The two cracks took only a couple of seconds more before the strange monstrous creatures burst small holes into that crack, not big enough to fit their bodies through at once.

The leaked through, dripping like poison from an apple out of that sneering mouth in the sky until the first of these creatures fell to the ground. The eager, hungry soul from before, whose abyss of a stomach had been shared with the whole of Genessia when he'd opened his misshapen jaw the first time a few days ago now looked from side to side in the streets of Everglade.

The first face he saw was that of an NPC, and he only saw it for a moment before launching himself at the man and pinning him to the ground. Some would recognize him as the grizzled owner of The Rabbit's Foot. A loud scream was put out from the man as the creature opened its jaw wide, but did not eat him. Nothing seemed to happen when his jaw was opened, as a matter of fact.

The creature closed its mouth slowly before standing upright on what seemed to be a two-legged form, though if it had arms they didn't take shape. It made a gesture as if it were cracking its neck as the man escaped quickly, locking the door to his shop behind him.

More of the creatures were piling into Everglade slowly but surely, but this one in particular caught sight of a local werewolf, someone with a pendant, a soul, and repeated his mauling, but this time- this time something happened. This time a strange, glowing mist seemed to pull out of the Everglade resident's body, a faint glimmer of aurora with it, and in a short time this person stopped screaming. They were still alive, but it didn't seem like there was anything... inside, really.

A hissing, victorious laughter left the creature and he moved on, heading toward Genessia's gate along with his oversized mouth pulled up into an eerie grin that reflected the crack in the sky. Those that had made it in through Everglade's crack followed suit.

They had to let the rest of their friends in through Genessia; it was only the polite thing to do.

CLOSED TO: LUCY AND NATSU

What Natsu and Lucy would happen upon in the medical clinic was not a common sight. A strange, glowing violet wisp hovered around the second floor, swaying to and fro as it circled the area. Though the spirit would normally did not take form within the walls of Genessia, the breach of the barrier in Everglade had made it necessary to come out. Not having established a representative, it was very important to show itself until someone happened upon it.

Rather problematically, the process of manifesting itself in a way all could see forced it into a bound location, and the amount of power being used to continue its job within the walls had broken the spirit's concentration, landing it in the clinic instead of in the Bay where it had intended itself to be.

But as Lucy and Natsu happened into the room, they would both be approached by the violet wisp, which seemed to move with a sense of urgency, zipping back and forth between them. They would both be imbued with the knowledge that this was a spirit from Genessia, but not like the lost, corrupted elements attempting to flood the cities. It needs their help.

Lucy had been slightly disappointed when they couldn't find the spirit at the shrine, but there was still one more place they needed to check. She didn't know how much time they had, and she was already trying to think of other places they should check the next day. As she opened the door and stepped inside, she was briefly startled by the urgent little spirit that actually approached -them-.

"Wha..!" WELL. That was easy! "Natsu, this is --" It had to be - and the knowledge that it imparted to them without words was only confirmation. "Genessia's spirit..." It's still a strange to her that they almost looked like little flames. But musing on that could wait; she glanced at Natsu, nodding quickly to the little wisp. "That's why we're here; How can we help?"

In any other situation and if not for that upload of info he would've tried to eat it >.>

Natsu was a little frustrated in the fact that his senses had not managed to be of any real help in tracking the spirit. And then the little entity actually just came to them instead. Probably Lucy's luck with spirits came into play no doubt.

"Woah this feeling! It's like when that guy from Pegasus who put the map in my head!"

Everglade's spirit is in danger. Lucy Heartfilia and Natsu Dragneel: Before the barrier can be repaired, it is necessary to save Everglade from one of its residents. I can lend you my power to overcome him. Everglade's spirit is injured from the barrier breach and unable to properly defend itself.

Before the barrier can be repaired, Everglade must be saved. Are either of you willing to accept a temporarily bound spirit?

Lucy narrowed her eyes, "In danger..? From one of its own residents?" She glanced at Natsu - funny, they were JUST talking about something like that earlier with Satsuki. "Who would do something like that at a time like -This-?"

She turned back to the spirit, her response coming immediate. "Yes, I will." Spirits were her department, so there was no question or hesitation in her response. With Genessia's spirit's help they would surely put down the threat to Everglade's spirit, and with Natsu at her side, whoever was threatening Everglade's spirit would regret it.

The little violet spirit glows rather like a vibrant blacklight for a moment in response to the acceptance, hovering over to Natsu for a moment. It would've come sooner, but forcing itself into a visible reality is not the easiest of tasks! Without a host, it's difficult to exist outside of a single area. This time, it happened to be the clinic. He should try being a non-corporeal spirit sometime if he thinks it's so easy.

Once the spirit is finished imbuing a chew out to Natsu's mind, it zips over to Lucy and doesn't stop, instead pushing into her chest. The light dims and instead flows up to Lucy's eyes, her irises now illuminated with a thin violet ring around them. Other than that, she will detect little to no differences beyond the presence of the spirit for now, as well as the location of Everglade's spirit. When battle approached, it would imbue her of knowledge of just what she would be able to do while it was bound with her- but no sooner than that.

Both Natsu and Lucy would know then that Dracula was responsible for cornering Everglade's spirit and that this would not be an easy task for the two of them, but it was relying on them. Once Everglade's spirit was safe, it would need to be taken to the Bay to recover and they could discuss how to reseal the barrier.

Lucy stifled a laugh. She never expected a spirit to chew someone out like that. She cast an amused glance towards her partner, though to her credit, she managed to keep from giggling. Turning back to the spirit, she cleared her throat, "So ho-" EEP! Well she WAS going to ask binding worked in this world, but apparently she didn't need to ask.

She flinched in surprise when the spirit pushed into her chest, blinking a few times at that sensation. That... was definitely new. Naturally different from her bond with her own spirits, but as the information flowed to her and Natsu's minds on the one responsible, she scowled. "I remember him." That guy that tried to pretend he was a good guy when they first arrived. She placed her hand over her chest. They wouldn't let this little spirit down. "Come on, Natsu..!"

She turned on her heel, sprinting out the door to head towards Everglade.

Natsu wasn't new to being lectured by his seniors though he took the spirit's lecture to heart about as much as he did for everyone else. Which was to say not at all. So noisy and huffy. Luckily there were more important things at hand.

"I knew that bastard was fishy. YOu can't fool a dragon Slayer's nose." Natsu growled before nodding to Lucy and quickly rushing with her out the door and towards Everglade's gateway.
