At the Library

The Library here was amazing--and Trunks may not be the type most would expect, but he actually kind of liked the building. So many books and subjects, and reading for fun was one of the few things he rarely had time to do. Not that he was entirely reading for fun now, as he's mostly browsing sections related to time travel and multi-dimensional physics...

At the Garden Park--Locked to Rose and/or Martha

Rose had asked to be taken flying, and the easiest time to meet and do so was probably during their usual meditation practice before work. Whether she'd talked to Martha or not Trunks was there as usual.

[Out and about--All Cities]

Checking on neighbors--Nova City, Heaven's Court Apts--Locked to Anastasia.

With the heatwave going on, Trunks is making it a priority to check on Ana. He's willing to also add her grocery shopping to his own, so she doesn't have to brave the heat.

Research--related to helping neighbors. Nova City, Heaven's Court Apts---Locked to Soma

Soma was the one who procured Anastasia's ruby circlet, which meant Soma was the one to talk to about how it worked. Just in case it went missing or broke. Because Trunks worried about Ana, and wanted to help, which meant understanding the tools she already head. Good thing he and Soma had gotten along; time to give the other a call.

Various shopping areas for errands

Feel free to run into Trunks at the Farmers Market in Attleton, or Pan Grocery in Genessia. Someone is the responsible adult, and actually glad to not have to scavenge for food anymore. Besides, it's good to have more supplies than not, when there are hungry half-saiyans and saiyans about. He might also be found around the Nova City Scrap Yard, or Sycamore Cycles.

Attleton--Colosseum--Various times--Locked to Bulla, Bulma/Mai/Cassian/Kaytoo/Dante.

Having a sister is an adjustment, and one usually gets ample warning--not a sudden 15 year old showing up. But Trunks is trying to learn and adjust, and Bulla has asked for training. He's not sure how much he can teach her, but he'll try. Besides, some people wanted demonstrations...

[Even in the heatwave, Anastasia still has school. But thanks to her magic circlet, she's fine, and she's keeping cool by tying her hair up in a cute ponytail. But this bright light bothers her eyes a bit.

School is out by now and she comes home to find Trunks coming down the hall towards her apartment.]

Hi, Trunks. How are you?

[He's not surprised, although he is a little annoyed at himself for forgetting track of the time. But he Ana gets an easy smile, and a wave in turn.]

Running around a lot, but that's normal. I'm glad my timing wasn't too off, as I forgot you had school still.

[A little bit sheepish there, one hand up and rubbing his neck.]

Actually I wondered if I could chat with you for a bit? I can bring over a cold treat, if you want too, since this heat is annoying.

Sure, that's quite all right. Let me do some quick tidying up, okay? I'll leave the door open for you.

[She just needs to check to make sure her Pokemon didn't knock anything over that she needs to clean up.

Its a small matter and by the time Trunks does arrive with treats, Anastasia will have cold drinks ready in the living room.]

Meditation JULY 3RD

"Oh god, it's hot. I'm dying." It was only 8 in the morning and hadn't even gotten that hot yet. And she was already a whining puddle of a wolf. "Why did I think the park was good for this?" Rose just flopped on her back in the grass under trees. STILL TOO HOT.

All the puppy whining.

And then she stripped off her tank top too. It's okay, she's still got her swimsuit and shorts on.

The swimsuit helps, even if Trunks is going to huff and try to not notice. Then again, he's in tank-top and combat pants, and doesn't seem to be affected much by the heat. Blame the half-saiyan physiology.

"You're not dying, Rose. Your ki is still steady." Patient, with perhaps a touch of exasperation. Look, he'll even be helpful; reaching into his pocket and pulling out his personal capsule case. Which means, pulling out one and a quick toss, then with a hoipoi-sound and some smoke, there's a mini-fridge.

Rose whines and rolls about on the ground like a petulant wolf pup but the sudden mini-fridge appearance snaps her out of it.

And she instantly raids it looking for Vitex. "Did I ever tell you about Vitex?" ALREADY INTO A MEDITATION POSE JUST LIKE THAT. Drama wolf.

Action . Library

[It never hurts to reaffirm theories and sciences: Uai has visited enough worlds with entirely different foundations that he knows not to expect his knowledge to transfer. So he's in that same section, browsing books on quantum theory.

This isn't a place where he usually finds other readers. Recognizing Trunks, he gives a bow of his head-- his fingers have just pried a book on string theory from the shelf.]

... We're not going to have to fight for books, are we? [He's joking

[It takes Trunks a moment, but he does remember and recognize Uai. Offering a friendly smile.]

I would hope not. I don't think they'd like us fighting in here.

[Entirely serious, but with an easy friendliness in the offer.]

Besides, the section is big enough I think we can share.

Attleton-Colosseum--Sibling Bonding (Locked to Bulla)

Trunks was still not fond of the Colosseum, with it's cheering crowds who seemed to hunger for fights and battles to watch. But he could see the practical necessity of it. Which, considering he'd be working with and getting to know his here-to-fore unknown baby sister, meant it was a good idea to use it. She had some training, enough to fly at least and had been in a military academy before coming here apparently.


But that still only gave him a base idea of what she might be capable of. He also might be capable of things that Bulla wasn't aware of, given he was not the same version of her brother from her timeline. So, this would be a way of getting to know each other too, besides just training. Which was normally actually kind of enjoyable for him; he just needed to tune out the background crowds.

There was a time when the thought of requesting training would never have entered her mind. It felt like two years ago, but her physical state suggested that it was mere days ago instead. If it wasn't for having Marco and Grell here, she would fretted that it was all just an elaborate dream brought on from snacking on the wrong thing late at night. But they remembered her, even if time had moved onward for them, whereas it seemed to have been rewound for her.

The only physical thing that had remained from her experiences at Balamb Garden was the muscle memory of everything she'd learned in the hand to hand combat classes there. She'd already practiced moves that no one from home had ever shown her. A fighting style from another universe entirely.

"Hey Trunks!" She beamed at him. He might be from an alternate timeline, but family was family. She quieted down her voice, ensuring that they couldn't be heard by anyone not standing within a foot of them. "Before we begin...I wanted to ask you about something."

Family was family, at least with the Briefs. Their family was used to stranger things, so why quibble about alternate timelines or what not? They often had better things to do and bigger problems to deal with.

The greeting was normal, but her quieting her voice down has him raising an eyebrow. "Sure?" Was she worried about what kind of training? He wasn't their father...

Garden Park--July 4th

It's bleeding hot, but Martha doesn't mind. It sinks into her bones and it's finally starting to ward off the chill from Japan and the factories. Besides, she's wind-blasted from riding around on her new motorbike picking up overheated citizens and taking them to cooler locations or treating heatstroke on the fly.

Yeah, her head's still a right mess, but at least she's doing what she'd been studying to do. And maybe meeting Trunks for meditation practice is a step in the right direction. Which is why she's smiling pretty brightly when she finds him in the Garden Park.

"Zen me," she says cheerfully as she drops down into the grass beside him.

Rose was nowhere in sight, but that was alright. The park was peaceful enough, and sometimes Trunks just liked people watching. Enjoying how normal it was, compared to what he'd grown up with, or dealing with during Black's reign. Martha's not exactly subtle though, and there's a soft chuckle when she comes and joins him.

"I'm not very good at zen myself, didn't Rose tell you that?" But he's smiling, his only concession to the heat that he's in a tank top without a jacket or sweater, compared to his normal clothes. "Rose doesn't really do the meditation much either unless she's moving. It's why we try and pair it with her yoga."

"Contrary to rumor, Rose and I don't discuss every bleeding thing," Martha replies and while she's clearly teasing, there is a hint of something not quite right in her tone. It's not Rose's fault exactly, but she's pretty miffed at the Doctor walking out on her the other night and she knows it's to do with Rose.

"I reckon I'm better at stillness than Rose, but I'm right new at yoga and meditation. So, where do we start?"

Attleton Colosseum

[ Observing one of Trunks's battles had been something they had been discussing since the Colosseum first came up, yet it had taken a while for their schedules to array nicely.

Today it finally has and Cassian finds an empty seat somewhere in the center of the tribune, on the crowded side of the Colosseum since this side is at least somewhat shadowed, while the other side is exposed to the glaring sun.

Even so he's already wiping sweat from his brow as he sits down, phone out to jot down thoughts and observations. ]

Testing/Sparring vs. Dante

[Still not his favorite place, but Trunks was glad now he'd had at least one previous encounter himself in the Colosseum. Even if it hadn't been the smartest thing... He was also sad, as he'd originally hoped to do this against his father--here, and then gone away again so fast.

But he HAD promised Dante a spar sometime, and the two had a decent relationship so far. Trunks also appreciated that with his promotion and new busy schedule AS Guardian, Dante still made time for this. It would also be good, as Cassian would have someone who's capabilities he knew, to compare what he saw with Trunks' own.

This would hopefully be a much better experience overall, and while Trunks didn't like fighting... He liked training. And sparring. SO he was maybe looking forward to this a little.

Waiting and ready, loose stance, sword over his shoulder. Letting himself smile when he felt familiar ki presences out among the onlookers. Nervous, but a good kind of nervous excitement--some of it from his saiyan blood which he couldn't deny was eager to face a strong opponent.]

[Honestly, Dante was about to go crazy with all the paperwork that came with being guardian. He didn't regret running by any means, but he needed some exercise as well as a stress reliever, and with the match being in the coloseum, Dante hoped to give the citizens a demonstration of what he could do as well. He sauntered out into the arena, his guitar case slung over his shoulder with what appeared to be a briefcase in his other hand.]

I don't want you holding anything back, Trunks. And to make sure you don't take it easy on me, I'm not holding back either.

[With a small flourish, the briefcase seemed to fold in on itself until it vanished from sight, as he set the guitar case on the ground, keeping a hand on the end of it.]

Ready when you are.

Attleton Colosseum | For both of you

Much like Cassian, Kay has come to see Trunk's powers in action. He's heard a lot about them and he's very curious. He's also carrying a bit umbrella with him, not so much to block the head that doesn't affect him as to stop the sunlight from overheating his metal frame. That way if someone touches him they won't be burned.

He's not sure if the kid will notice but he waves at Trunks direction to say hello. Then he comes over to Cassian, to offer him some shade.

At the Library

Belle spent a great deal of time at the library and often used one of the corner tables to set up her lesson plans for the following week. It was quiet, away from the door and she could work without the constant comings and goings of the library.

Today she was looking for new works for her class though she had specific authors and literature already picked out for the remainder of the semester. This meant that her table was filled with books that ranged from Jane Austin to Catcher and the Rye. As well as some older texts such as the Odyssey. There were so many books and authors that she wasn't familiar with and she had a lot of catching up to do.

Her pen scribbled across a page, pausing when she heard the soft step of someone walking along the rows of books. She would usually ignore it and return to her work but she recognized the young man.

"Trunks. I see you found your way here."

The voice made him look up, and Trunks smiled and waved. Albeit a bit awkwardly, around his stack of books. He has a messenger bag at his side. Hopefully Belle won't mind if he comes and joins her at her table. Setting his books down, he doesn't sit just yet though. Better to ask first. "Hi Belle. I've been here a few times, although my life got a bit crazy in the last few weeks. How are you?"

At the Library

"Combating the heat but I'm doing well." Her smile widens as she gestures towards the free seat at her table. "You're welcome to join me." Belle believes that books are for everyone, as is the space that they occupied.

"What are you looking for? I don't know all the books here but I'd be happy to try and make recommendations."

Speaking of physics, here's somecat who knows all about ignoring the laws of nature!

The Cheshire Cat is happily napping on one of the bookshelves, conveniently nestled on a row of books on the very subject Trunks is researching. Not that he's entirely visible, with nothing but a fluffy striped tail peeking out between two volumes about time travel, but such an outrageously bright object is pretty hard to miss in a library.

Somehow Trunks is not actually surprised to find Cheshire in the Library. Scratch, in personality, had been very different from Cheshire, but cats did have some commonalities. Like being wont to go where they wanted and do what they wanted.

"Hello Cheshire. Enjoying your nap?" Keeping his voice low-enough, as this WAS still a Library.

Research

Soma hadn't been expecting a call from anyone, so he's slightly startled when his device goes off. Luckily he's not handling anything volatile when it happens, though he is in what appears to be some kind of lab.

"Soma here. What's up?"

"Sorry to disturb you..." It's in the tone. Trunks is guessing, and is genuinely sorry. "It's Trunks. I wondered if I could ask you some questions about the Ruby Circlet? I'm concerned about Ana in the heat-wave, and knowing that the circlet was hard to get means I'd like to know other options. Which means knowing more about it."

A pause, then "You could call me back, if this is a bad time."
