[While Genessia has more than its share of benevolent dragons, leave it to Gellert to find a truly vicious one. The crack of what sounds like a whip accompanies the bellowing roars of the beast well. Gellert might look like a hero, silhouetted as he is by the dragon's flame, and he certainly seems unfazed by all the fuss.
But then he laughs and the sound is unnerving.]
Now, now, is that necessary? I just need a little blood. You won't miss a vial or two.
[He brings out the Elder Wand and he raises it, slashing it viciously through the air and...
Through the dragon's hide. Any blood spilt is drawn, with another quick spell, into a waiting flask. Of course the dragon doesn't like that at all. Gellert Apparates, bringing his audience along on a dizzying ride over the treetops, with the dragon in hot pursuit.
He shifts towards the mountains, where the cold air leaves frost on his audience's view. Then the communicator turns and Gellert is grinning wildly, madly, diving down into what looks like a mountain cavern.]
Wasn't that exciting? [With his feet on the ground, he ducks into the cave and brings out the spoils of his battle.] It is so very hard to acquire dragon blood.
[There follows an audible thump and he looks up.]
Poor thing. They want to bury me in here, is that it?

[Gellert rubs over the other man's back.] My zeal for life is too strong and my zeal for your life is even stronger. I don't want to hurt you or endanger you. If we were facing a monstrous beast, I can't help shielding you.
[action]
And I can't help running after you if you do something dangerous. You might think you are protecting me when you are only delaying my arrival and my ability to help.
[action]
My hero on a white horse. If you knew your value, you wouldn't bother with a rebel like me.
[action]
Whatever your value is, it doesn't matter. You're stuck with me as I am regardless.
[action]

[He shuts his eyes for a moment, palming Gellert's face, savoring the warmth of him.]
I'm just so very glad you're here.
[Here in Genessia, here alive, here with him.]
[action]
You mean that.
[action]
[He opens his eyes to look at Gellert with a look that's both pained and affectionate at once.]
Do you truly think I would fare well if I were to lose you?
[action]
No. I wouldn't put you through that intentionally. I think I would rather lose an arm or a leg, frankly.
[action]
[As he says it, his hands stroke Gellert's face, as if reminding himself of his presence.]
[action]
[action]
[He smiles slightly, but his melancholy is not erased. He leans in closer, letting himself be tugged closer, his forehead pressed to Gellert as his arms wrap all the more tightly around him.
When he'd first seen Gellert in the city, he'd been afraid he would immediately topple head-first into the same blind adoration he'd gone through when they were young. And yet he truly was ensnared all over again, wasn't he?]
[action]
Tell me why you're sad? [Besides him being a rash fool. That isn't exactly new and, for a moment, he fears he has been making Albus sad for years.]
Re: [action]
I fear losing you. I fear that losing you is inevitable even if we change what we can. And I fear that I will watch you suffer because of me, even if I do everything in my power to change our course.
[action]
You expect too much of yourself - as usual. If we are parted because of my cruelty and my idiocy, that is my doing. Do not suffer with me. Leave that pain with me and live your life to the fullest.
[action]
You say that as it were so easy.
Even before this place, I feared it. There were many days I was afraid to look at the newspaper because I thought I might see a headline announcing your death.
[action]
I'm used to looking out for myself; I can block the world from my mind and from my emotions if I wish. Or, at least, I could before I met you. Now I don't like the idea of you feeling fear because of me.
[action]
It's the curse of caring. Whenever you feel anything for someone, there is always the possibility of losing them.
But I do not regret caring for you even if that possibility remains.
[action]
[action]
Regret is already my faithful companion. I have my share of shames and mistakes. But caring for you is not one of them, nor is it my hindrance.
[action]
It almost wouldn't be worthwhile if you regretted being with me. I could selfishly enjoy us being together, but it would ruin what we have.
