OPEN TO ALL | Everglade or Genessia | Action

[Hindsight is an amazing thing.

In hindsight, his idea had been a stupid one. Yes, it worked but it came at a cost. The poison running through his system is meant to kill most victims, Toby is lucky because he isn’t most victims. His body is slowly repelling the poison but it’s coming at a cost. He’s beginning to feel feverish though he’s stubbornly pushing past the achy feeling in his joints.

He just needs to find a place to sleep: rest, reboot and he’ll be fine.

Anyone who comes across him will hear a steady stream of curse words whispered under his breath. He isn’t looking to go home and get yelled at so he might find a place to sleep in an alleyway or wherever looks comfortable.]

[ooc: feel free to find him wherever between Genessia and Everglade.]

Closed to Cas: Backdated slightly.

[He is an idiot. This is a fact that he’s very aware of though he’s never made strides to fix it. School has never been his strong suit and even now he got dreary at the idea of reading a book. His idiocy doesn’t excuse his behavior the night before.

Toby doesn’t know how to say sorry. He isn’t the sort of person who talks a lot and when he does speak he feels as if his words don’t carry the weight that others do. He foregoes the awkward stumbling over words and decides to do something that he knows, something he’s very familiar with.

He’s standing in the kitchen with a few things set up on the counter. He works as if he’s lived in a kitchen his whole life, frying potatoes and chopping up vegetables and meats. Anyone watching him might comment that it doesn’t look like Toby at all. There is a slight up curl to his lips, not his usual smirk but a smile as he works. Alluring smells begin to drift through the kitchen and he hopes that is enough to call his roommate from her hiding place.]

[It was bound to happen at some point.

Deep within the alleyways of Everglade, there's this dreadful stench that could easily be identifiable as rotting flesh. Perhaps it wasn't a new stench to the city, but it was certainly...fresh. For the past two weeks, it was easier to see that humans were avoiding these areas even more-so now. No one dared to inch closer, no one dared to figure out what sort of monster was hording corpses within the small corners of Everglade. Some were curious, given what the place was.

If one were brave enough, they would see in these back corners of the alleyways that there were /mounds/ of corpses. Some half-eaten, but all noticeably missing something...

...Their spines.

There was a pile of them not too far from the corpses, and upon their vertebra, there's a peculiar sigil carved into it.

If there was someone brave enough lurking around, they would soon hear the soft fall of footsteps approaching... ]

[When the video switches on, it shows no one in particular. However, it's clear whoever's holding the videophone is up in the air...and moving very quickly. In fact, it might be sickening to those who get motion sickness. There's an amused giggle, although as the owner speaks, every other word seems to be spoken in a different voice. Those from Gensokyo may recognize some of those voices.]

Well, this is interesting!~ I've never seen a place like this before.

[She continues to dart around, with the occasional spiral thrown in for good measure. It's almost like she's doing it on purpose.]

What's there to do for fun around here?

[Priorities. She has them.]

[Ace is by the bay. Why is he by the bay? Because water and sand and sea and all the stuff he loves in one place.

He's also exceedingly bored]

This place is lame. Doesn't anyone know how to have a party around here? Let's get a bonfire going! Let's get some food and music and dance all night! Come on. Don't waste your lives away on work.

I have the first part all set up.

[and he turns the camera where a massive pil eof driftwood/detritus and other flammable materials has been stacked about ten feet high]

Wanna see me light it?

( She'd experienced this once before, she felt, during that time in the library. Except this was different. This time, she woke up inside of a cocoon-- her coffin, she supposed.

Yet, this didn't quite disturb her. Preferably, she'd have stayed with her two brothers, but she'd made her peace with death before. It was okay, she'd tell herself. Everything will be fine. Shoma and Kanba would learn to move on, the world would still turn. She'll be fine. Himari was better off this way.

This did not, however, account for whatever it was that weighed down her chest. A box of some kind? She rose up from the casket, box in hand, and began to rifle through it. Once she reads through the pamphlets, she clicks on her device: )

Sooooo, what all draws us here: magic? Or are we all pulled from death?

( What? No inquiry of what this place is, or where to live? Priorities... )
