Lust

[That's a familiar rack face to a lot of people here. You'd think she'd be more careful about it, but fact is, she knows who's here. And she doesn't care. She regards the video feed blandly.]

I'm just going to get to the point. If you're from Amestris, stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours. I don't think you can ask for a better deal than that.

[She shifts her weight, flipping an errant lock of black hair over her bare shoulder.]

As for employment, it's simple. If you can make me human, I'll work for you. Even if it takes a while. I can be patient.

[There are other things she wants to mention about that, but she's not that stupid or brash to mention the whole complete lack of scruples thing. She'll get to that if it comes to it.]

Other than that? I'm not interested in small talk, so there's no need for greetings or reassurances. We'll run into each other soon enough, I'm sure.

Uai
20 March 2018 @ 01:13 pm
[Uai woke with a start. It took a moment for him to gather his thoughts among the initial struggle to maintain his human form. His tired mind needs a good minute to recall what he had been up to before. At which point, he jumps/falls out of the pod and slams face first into the water.

Only to very quickly pick himself up and dark out of The Bay... and riiiight passed that Hologram. He doesn't have time to stop and wonder what that device was!

He has also dropped his starting money, but at least this vain kid decided he wanted the pendent and communicator.]

[Action. Genessia City]

Alyce? ALYCE! [There's a newbie now running around your city. Uai is aware that he is getting weird looks, but finding Alyce is more important that his pride. Adding to the reasons to stare are the fact that Uai is holding a sword and glaring at strangers. He's not entirely sure what is happening (good work, skipping the tutorial,) so assumes someone among the crowd brought him here.

At least after realizing he was making citizens as nervous as himself, he has the sense to begin searching more quietly. Including putting his weapons away and deciding not to yell anymore. Muses might find Uai looking very lost as he hurriedly checks every store and public area. As his panic gets worse, a dark and inky aura is seeping from him and becoming more noticeable.

Inevitably, Uai figures out to use the communicator.]

Hello? Who is this, and what do you want? [Except he assumes this is a horror movie tactic, where his captor has given him a phone for torment purposes.] Actually, don't even bother naming your demands. I'm not in the mood. Give Alyce back to me before I force you. Harming the Grande Librarian is punishable by annihilation, and upholding the laws is my job.

Gabriel | Reaper | Overwatch
20 March 2018 @ 01:51 pm
[The series is a few short texts on the network, it's Gabriel feeling out the area. A new place, a new area to be cautious. He listened to the hologram ignored the screaming Satan down the way and texted as best as his clawed gloves could do.

First up was an Overwatch Code.]

Jack is knee deep in Black and Stupid

[meant compromised Overwatch agent in the field.

The second was keyed in to Talon agents.]

You should teach me to shoot straight.

[If Sombra, Widowmaker, Doomfist or *shudder* Moira were here, they'd get it and home in on his location.]

action

Gabriel realized quickly that this world was in chaos. And while he wasn't willing to compromise his evil agent situation, the last thing he wanted was to get the local authorities down on him before establishing some kind of base.

So, shifting his form, he removed his mask and tucked it away. A scarred hispanic man with deep grey skin and red eyes stared out around the area for a long moment.

"Time to meet the locals," muttered Gabriel as he stepped into the light and winced at the bright sun and snow. "Dios Mios... what sort of hell did I walk into that it's so bright?"

Sunset Shimmer
20 March 2018 @ 03:57 pm
Sunset was pretty sure she took a wrong turn when she returned to the human world.

Down one element of harmony, and her plans foiled by a trip into another world. She suppressed a scream of anger echoed by the Satan guy down the way as she sighed a little.

"Get it together Shimmer," grumbled Sunset, drawing her leather jacket around herself.

Step 1, get some money. This wouldn't last according to the hologram. Snooty looking girl ain't she? Secondly, find something, anything, to keep her from starving, and thirdly, she needed to figure out if this "Twilight Sparkle" on her contacts list really was the princess.

She loathed the thought of trying to avoid her, but this would be a good thing.

First, putting on her most innocent and scared expression, she sidled up to the nearest person. "Um, excuse me, I don't understand why I'm here. Can you help me? I dropped my money and now it's soaked and no good anymore."

Nailed it.

[Augustine is seated neatly upon the sofa of his exquisite living room looking as handsome as any portrait in this crisp black and fuchsia ensemble. Unlike many times before, his long hair is tied back in a neat fuchsia ribbon and he's actually wearing a pair of silver framed spectacles. Since when does the dhampir wear glasses? Only when they're a fashion accessory at best. That or the fact Augustine's general eyesight is weakening due to his unwillingness to feed off of live prey. Either way, not many will suspect the latter since Augustine seems just as polished and confident as ever.

Of course his three girls, Odette, Claudia & Matilda are peeking into the screen trying to steal his limelight. He gives the pokemons a slightly annoyed glance as the preen and groom themselves before the camera. Eventually he has enough of their shenangians and clears his throat. The three of them scurry out of frame quickly chattering away like the pesky nuisances they are.

Augustine rolls his eyes and shakes his head. He can still hear them fussing in the next room.
]

Ladies, please. [Finally there's silence.] Good, girls.

[Ahem!]

Bună ziua! Long time no see, hasn't it? I've been quite busy as of late since the concert. The Nova City Museum just recently installed a new A.I system to manage our many exhibitions. I've been overseeing that project while taking some necessary down time from the public eye.

[That among many other things but he's discreet.]

I've been hoping to get my toes wet in the real estate market. I'm in search for a house for Eliot & I. We're something like *family* at this point and I do believe the lad deserves a beautiful home.

[As does himself.]

I've been trying to price the real estate markets in various cities but each seem so pricey, especially Nova City. I was wondering if there's any homeowners out there who are willing to share information. I currently have my eyes on Everglades, Genessia, & Attleton.

[The video feed is going to snap on and there's a distraught Twilight on the feed, oh-so-confused and hurt at what she's witness.]

Everypony... everyone, I'm... I'm going to need your help on this.

Someone new came here - her name's Sunset Shimmer. Where I came from, she was one of my dearest friends. One of my earliest students in the ways of friendship. She was impulsive and a little hungry for power, but I was able to get through to her, to the point where her old teacher... my old teacher as well... welcomed her back with open hooves.

But, that's not the Sunset that's here now. She's from the past. My past. She's a Sunset that is motivated by power. She tried to use an artifact from my world to turn those from another dimension into her own personal army. She doesn't have it and, since it's mine, I don't have it, either. I can't rely on the original method to help her.

She's not a run-in-the-mill mustache-twirling villain; she's someone lost in her own desire to show that she can be the best. If she tries something, you have to stop her, but do not throw her in jail. Because she's from the past, I don't know what may happen if you all try something like that. I don't want to risk this world being reduced to a wasteland because you want to treat her like a common criminal.

You need to redeem her. Show her that friendship is a much better thing than a jail cell!

I can't do this alone. I don't have the means to do so, so I need all of you to help me...

the spectre of briar glen. (Elora Winemaker)
20 March 2018 @ 07:05 pm
docks; arrival
[ Elora has only known two homes in her life: the first she barely remembers, a fleeting memory of a time before she was changed. And the other, a rotting husk of charred wood and bones, a 'home' only in name that she burned down with her own hands centuries ago. She remained there for ages, knew she would eventually die there, and was content to wallow in her self-imposed misery until that day finally came.

Here, now, unannounced and unplanned, she is lost. There's too many people — she can hear them in the distance as she stumbles into the bay. By some merciful God it is night when she arrives, but that does only a little to abate the fear rippling through her.

The instructions given are half-ignored, the phone tossed to the side and forgotten (unless someone chooses to stop her from leaving it behind) and the necklace inspected for longer than likely necessary. It makes no sense. It has to be an illusion, a trick from some mage that happened to wander upon her home somehow, past her defenses, past her knight, past... everything. It's unlikely, but possible. It can't be real. She can't be here, in this strange city.

She doesn't stray far from the Bay for a while, too keyed up and confused to do much exploring. So she sticks to the shadows — quite literally — a veil of darkness looming around her to keep her as blended in with the darkness as possible. It's safer there, where she can watch and hope she can figure out what the hell she's going to do now. ]

genessia city; commonspace
[ Eventually she has to move. The sun threatens to rise above the horizon and no matter how dark the veil she wears, it will not shield her entirely. Briefly, she thinks, she should just let it happen — end this all now and be done with it. But she wills herself forward; she has suffered worse than this, far worse, and will weather this as she did all her other trials. She seeps through shadows, unseen and unheard unless someone is well attuned to the supernatural, and makes it to the room she has been given.

The door unlocks, she steps in, and collapses on the floor once the curtains are drawn and the room steeped in black. There, she cries, low and soft, but loud enough to be heard through the halls. Her door is half opened and she will curse herself for that later, but for now she just needs to cry. ]

Eliot Durant
20 March 2018 @ 08:16 pm
[Eliot had, perhaps, been thinking too much about the wrong things. With his hunger returning, he's been riddled again with guilt regarding his condition. At least back home, Eliot had a job to do that he could pretend justified his vampirism. In Genessia, his unique talents have no use. A normal mortal could have done his job just as well. He was just a blood stealing waste of space here. With how he is right now, mostly useless and borrowing blood selfishly, it would make more sense to just let himself fall asleep. Eliot has reached the conclusion that he needs to justify being here, or he'll accept his sleeping beauty routine when his hunger gets too much.

Which is why he opened a business.]

Good afternoon, everyone. Pardon my intrusion on your video feed.

My name is Eliot Durant and I have started a new business in Genessia. I hope to archive information about our new surroundings, especially that which is relevant to us pendent bearers. I can also transcribe books from my world, ranging from fantasy novels to cookbooks. If you need a recipe or entertainment, please contact me.

And then... hm... I suppose, the next matter is a question. Has anyone else been exploring Genessia? I'd like to collect details on the area... I'm also curious to know more about the spirits here. Has anyone encountered them before? The more details I can acquire, the more I can share and the more we can collectively understand our situation.

... Thank you for your time.

Yagami Hikari
20 March 2018 @ 08:40 pm
 I. - Morning, Flash Bandits - (Closed to Twelfth Doctor)

[Some days, there was more to her shift tasks than merely sorting equipment and order forms.  Like the days when she got to experiment with a few other tools of the trade.]

[That particular day, it was foam boards and reflectors.  The latter, in particular, had captured her interest all the more when she realized it was a collapsible 5-in-1 model, with fabric covers allowing for everything from reducing contrast and softening the quality of light, to varying degrees of highlights, to warming effects.]

[Her current test model was her little Natu, who sat on a stool and occasionally chirped with glee at the attention he was receiving.  Abra, meanwhile, was sleeping at the base, determined to follow Hikari as often as possible while still managing to get his daily 18 hours of rest.  Even if it meant sleeping on the job.  Natu seemed to chirp all the brighter each time a new type of light was shone on it, complete with the flashing lights and soft clicks of Hikari's camera.]

[Pulling away, she took a glimpse of her latest shot and smiled sheepishly.]

I guess it's a good thing I have the fast-action compatible model.  You're just not going to sit still, are you?

Natu!  Na Na!  Tu!

II. - Afternoon, Moonbucks - (Closed to Takeru)

[As she approached the coffee shop, Hikari wondered if she should have felt more nervous.  This was her first major booking, after all.  A request for some promotional shots for the cafe, featuring one of their currently more popular employees.]

[...then again, as a smile threatened the corners of her lips...that was probably why she wasn't nervous.  Because the subject she would be shooting was one very familiar to the viewfinder of her camera.]

[Shifting the weight of the numerous bags she'd been carrying, Hikari paused just long enough on the street corner to note the several teenaged girls who were gathering around the shop window.  Something inside clearly had them excited, because they were whispering among one another, occasionally shielding their eyes from the outdoor glare as they continued braving the cool weather in favor of something just beyond the slightly reflective glass' surface.]

[Of course, once Hikari realized how many of those faces she recognized, she understood why they were there.]

[Still, that wasn't about to stop her from her assignment.  In fact, it was with an increased amusement that she approached the main entrance, currently locked and with a "closed" sign on it--no doubt in order to prepare for that afternoon--and knocked loudly.]

[There were more whispers coming from the teen girls, including a few words here and there she even picked up.  All of them curious as to who she was and what she was doing there....]

III. - Out & About, Genessia - (OPEN)

[For once, the fourteen-year-old was walking around the city without her usual camera bag.  If only because she had a handful of others...as did her ever-faithful companion, Abra, who looked a little wobbly as it walked along beside her, carrying a bag of its own.]

...are you sure you're alright with that?

Abra!

[Hikari smiled warmly at Abra before pausing, moving to one side of the sidewalk so she could kneel down and peer in both their bags.  Understanding what she meant to do, Abra held his out so she could get a better look at what was inside.]

Let's see...we should have enough Gaffer's Tape to last a while...I bought four different sizes of clothing pins...we didn't need any Cinefoil...and I got a few extra clamps just in case.

Do you think that's everything?

Well, this is an interesting sort of mess, isn't it?

[That was definitely a young woman in armor that had some yellow to it, some weapon barely in view as it was hung near a hip. Shield still on her other arm, all as if she'd been in the middle of some battle- or perhaps it was something not quite so dire.

Sometimes practice while armored up was one of the better ways to train when there was meant t be a challenge to it.

Either way, she only sounded a little annoyed by it. Could be worse, but she still had someone that she needed to look after- had made a promise to herself. She'd paid attention to what information was provided, after getting out of that cave and all. It was nice to see plenty of proof of people pulling together to make the best out of a situation.]

Still, hello! I'm Brigitte.

Quite a few of my things aren't with me, but that isn't enough to stop me from offering my help while here. I'm a mechanical engineer and squire, and once settled you can bet I'll be looking for ways to put those skills to use.
