[ Action/Video ] (A bit backdated!)

[ Shortly after dropping Satsuki in a ditch somewhere (read: going their separate ways), Lucy and Natsu continued on to drop off their bounty to get their pay before heading home. Lucy deliberately picked a path that skirted away from where the building that the guild was supposed to be in, was. In fact, the apartment she'd picked out was even further away from the guild building than the inn was.

Speaking of apartments - she tucked the cloaks she received under an arm (or passed them over to Natsu if he wanted to hold them for a moment) and turned on her device, the video feed showing a slightly scuffed up but smiling blonde. ]

Those smugglers that were harassing the unicorns were taken care of - thankfully. Hopefully no one else gets it in their head to bother them- and hopefully the unicorns themselves have learned their lesson about going near people. I'm sure they did. Anyway, got some neat new magic cloaks out of the mission - that was a nice surprise!

Oh, Wendy, Levy, just thought I'd let you know, but I've moved out of the Inn. I'm staying in an apartment on the edge of town.

[ So if they go looking for her at the Inn and don't see her, that'd be why. That'd also be why a certain other Dragonslayer won't be there. That message passed, she closed the phone and tucked it into her pocket before glancing at her partner. ]

Before we head back, I want to stop and pick up some things. [ Bandages and such mainly. For obvious reasons. ]

Woooow things got really complicated at the end there. That chief guy was totally fishy though.

[He's commenting now that the first volume of her series was completed. He didn't comment that much during reading after all.]

[ It made her happy he had been so quiet - though at first she thought he fell asleep. Proven wrong several times in fact. But when he comments now that they'd finished reading the book, Lucy chuckles. Smart thing to do would be to sit up and move away again, but no, she shifts to her side so she can watch him, an amused smile on her face. In her defense she was entirely too relaxed and not thinking overly much about her position. ]

Do you think so?

[He's in no hurry to detach himself from Lucy either so he's more than happy to continue chatting away like this.]

Yep. the timing on pulling off the rookie. Too perfect.

[ It was just a matter of time now. Of course she'd be the one to eventually pull away. Lucy grinned. ]

I shouldn't be surprised that you picked up on that. What ...erm, what did you think of the thief?

[Well the more it was delayed the better. Natsu was not going anywhere any time soon after all.]

The thief was really cool too! Especially how he kept making a fool of everyone not letting them get evne a little grab on him.

[ Lucy giggled at that response. Of course she'd based the thief on him, so there was no surprise he'd like the thief. She hesitated a moment before the final question. ]

...what about the Rookie? Do you think the way she ...fe- may have fallen for the thief is too... ridiculous...?

[Natsu listened to Lucy's stammering question and he paused for a bit.]

Uh duh. She's not acting like a cop at all when it concerns him. No matter how much she doesn't realize it.

'Doesn't realize it..?' [ Lucy paused - they're still talking about the book right? ]

Well that's just because -- ah, I... I shouldn't say spoilers, actually. I haven't come with a full plan on that anyway.

[ Absently she brushed her fingers against her necklace, thinking. ]

How to end it, I mean...

Yeah you better keep it to yourself for now. I wanna read the next one like this with you anyway.

[Yup hope you're ready for a point blank smile to go with it.]

[ OH GOD SHE WASN'T READY. ...though to be fair she was never ready, but this was just even worse. In fact she rather abruptly jerked away from him with a small distressed noise, turning away with her hand clutching her necklace, pressed against her chest.

Dear. God. This was was unfair. She couldn't handle being this close. Her heart was pounding like crazy. ]

[That was a very loud yet quiet reaction on her part. He can only tilt his head curiously at her before leaning in a little closer.]

Lucy? Something wrong?

[ No no no no don't lean closer~! ]

I... I'm fine...!

[ ABSOLUTELY fine. Perfectly fine! Couldn't be finer! It's not -her- fault she couldn't handle being so close to him - wanting him to hold her and ...augh. ]

[Nope he's leaning in close and looking her in the eyes as much as she'll let him.]

Are you sure? You're being weird again.

[ It was hard to look away when he was being this direct - especially when he was unintentionally direct. ]

... Why do you always... [ God she can't handle being this close to him. It was getting harder and harder resisting whatever she felt when she was with him. Harder to guard her thoughts and her words. She shook her head, scooting away. ]

H-Hey, are you hungry? Why don't I make us something to eat...? [ BLATANT ESCAPE ATTEMPT as she makes a sudden dash off the couch for the kitchen. Once she was safely away, ducking around a wall, she let out a sigh. ]

I can't even handle being close to him...

[More puzzled head tilting before Lucy finally makes her escape. A good excuse for it too as his arms loosen just enough to let it happen.]

Oh! Yeah that sounds great!

[ THANK. GOD. ]

Okay great! So... stay out there, and I'll whip up something to eat. [ She just had to think of what to make, standing in the kitchen for a few minutes. ]

Hrm... chili or curry.... [ She hadn't made either in a while, actually. ]

Curry sounds good!

[He calls out having heard her dire plight.]

[ Lucy jumped slightly. He startled her so much she really wished he wouldn't do that sometimes. ]

I wish you wouldn't do that...

[ Well it was better that he stay out there and answer her right? Than him be in the kitchen with her when her heart still hadn't calmed down. ]

All right, curry it is.

[ She puttered over to the fridge, absently taking out ingredients, her mind wandering. Though she forcibly pulled her thoughts away from wandering towards a certain Dragonslayer - she didn't want to accidentally burn her food! ... although if she kept letting her attention drift, that was exactly what was going to happen. ]

...Aw, I'm going to have to get some more sauce after this - [ Unless she makes it from scratch! Oooh.. ]

[She might hear him snicker back if she tried really hard to listen. As it were, Natsu decided to just eavesdrop and make his entrance if Lucy sounded like she needed any real help.]

[ She mentally stuck her tongue out at him, deciding to ignore his snickers and try to focus on her tasks. Meat cooking, rice boiling, and then the assorted peppers she'd gotten her hands on. Actually, to her surprise, there was more meat and peppers in her refrigerator than anything else. ]

... this is really embarrassing. I need to restock this thing with more variety than that-

[ She goes quiet for a while, with only the sound of food sizzling, bubbling, and being chopped as she concentrates. CONCENTRATES. CONCEN-]

Hot, hot hot hot..!

[ A lesson to be learned: She should wear gloves when handling peppers like these. ]

[He was naturally still listening so the moment she cried out about how hot the peppers had been for her hands, Natsu was already leaning his head through the door peeking in on LUcy.]

Need a hand?

[ She was probably a sight, flapping her hands about and fumbling with the sink when he poked his head in at her. ]

Oh very funny~. [ Need a hand; she makes a face at him for the unintentional pun. ] Yes, help me out here.

[ He could get the sink and she could hold her poor fingers under it. Maybe she used a bit TOO much pepper. ]

[She was a sight indeed. As shown by the obvious quirk of his lips seeing the scene in the kitchen.]

Okay okay. You know you could have just asked for my help from the start~

[He says an walks over to the sink to turn the tap on to let Lucy cool off her poor tender hands.]

There's no way... [ Not when she had been going insane from thoughts and feels and ...and everything that had to do with -him-. Even now she wasn't looking at him, grumbling softly as her hands cooled. ]

How was I to know the peppers would be that hot..? [ Pout. Pout! ] I was able to handle the other ones just fine.

That's a good point. YOu did buy these yourself so I don't see how they'd end up spicier than they were when you bought them.

[He watches her expression relax as her hands cool.]
