05 BRAINS ; VIDEO
HEY!
[ This video is definitely set up with Liv's device leaning against something in her living room. She can't be bothered to actually face it- she's clearly doing something off screen. It's entirely possible that she's playing some kind of gaming console. From the sounds in the background, she might be shooting zombies. For the irony. She glances over at the video for a second, then keeps playing as she talks. ]
First off, thanks to everyone who ambushed me at the Christmas party to ask how this was going, it's really nice to know that I can do a job and not be hounded about it any time I go anywhere by literally everyone I talk to. Now that all of the holidays I was supposed to be enjoying are through, I'm going to go ahead and actually answer.
Most of you are probably aware I work in the morgue at the hospital, but back home I worked in the city morgue for the Seattle PD Police Department. I love lively jobs and never getting to see the sun, what can I say? The test that we were doing was a forensic technique used to age murder victims or blood samples found at crime scenes when we don't have other possible clues. I got the idea when I ran out of other things to test on some of the newcomers after some other general tests that are often run on kidnap victims. It wasn't the first test I ran, but it was definitely the only one with actual visible results.
The test typically reveals information about the age range within about 9 years by looking at a byproduct of the T-cells in the immune system. Most of the non-humanoid samples I didn't have a standard to go by, go figure, so most of those tests were inconclusive. I'll have your participation awards sent to you via mail on the 6th Friday of July. I had our lab retest the actually useful samples multiple times and the results were fairly consistent. Most of the people who come here to Genessia are currently between the ages of 0 and 10 years of age.
There are a few different explanations for this, so hey- panic on hold, it could be the least terrible of options in which.. [ She has to think for a second. David came up with this theory while she was a little bit drunk and a little bit anxiety-ridden on top of depressed. Thanks brains. It's a good thing she found a much snider snack to help her report this. ] Some forms of teleportation to other worlds apparently involve cellular breakdown and I guess the cells could've been lost during that process? I'd have to test everyone again to find out if they were missing anything else considering how specific it would have to be to just be missing that. Great theory David, I'm sure all teleportation specifically leaves out tiny cells that hint at what age you are. Other options include that we're all clones of whoever we look like or someone made us up in entirety and none of our lives are real.
[ On second thought, this was probably a terrible brain to eat before making this announcement. She puts the controller down finally and gives the camera two thumbs up and the most sarcastic smile possible. ]
Happy New Year everyone!
[ And the video feed ends on her leaning over the edge of her couch to turn it off. ]

And what exactly do these... tea cells do?
[ She raises her hand up, one hand still on the controller. ] The point's here and your head's kind of [ she lowers her hand about a foot. ] here.
You would do well not to trifle with me, human. I am not an enemy you wish to make.

[He had his own chance to freak out, which he thankfully managed to do when he was alone. He didn't want Nezumi to worry and then find out what was possibly going on. Yeah, his New Year's But now that didn't seem to make much of a difference. Now he just frowns in concern. He thinks she's just reacting this way because she's upset. Who wouldn't be?]
We don't know enough about their teleportation technology yet. If they had the technology to implant memories and...create us, then eliminating the cells might be intentional for some reason. What if we gathered some X-rays of the thymus glands of different age groups and compared them?
[ She doesn't really sound interested in doing much of anything right now. ] Whatever they decided to do, they obviously have the technology to do whatever they want, including somehow alter or create an immune system without overwhelming the body the second we walk out of the Bay. They can bring back the dead and they're using that to bring or make and keep people here instead of helping them.
[ The sound of gunfire from the game increased rapidly, but the music changed. Liv lost. She tossed the control toward the coffee table, but it slid off and hit the floor. She's.. just going to stare at it for a moment here. ]
[Then what...what happened to people when they disappeared? He shakes his head. It doesn't get rid of the thoughts, but he has other things to worry about.]
How long have you been playing that game? [A game like that would haven't been allowed in No.6. It would have been deemed a threat to the citizen's health immediately.]

[She didn't want to think that her life was something that wasn't real, that would be too horrible. However thinking about it more the thing she had been told... that theory wouldn't make sense, so it went from her mind for now.]
[Audio] Locked
[There might be a bit of an amused pause.]
But there might be a bit of a problem on sharing a man with myself if that sort of situation ever came up.

I'm not working with David, I'm friends with him. Samples are already done and if you're 1275 years old, I'm guessing not human so we don't have a standard to test against for you.
[Audio] Locked
I don't really care, actually. You know David, thus I'm willing to consider working with you. It might be worthwhile to sample the oddities of non-humans at different stages just to know when we aren't our usual selves. If only you had been around three years ago when I was still partially human...

Hey, sorry about the questions at the party... [There is a pause.] I hope you had a good tome though.
[Her head tilts slightly as she flicks through a book sitting in her lap.]
I did have some theory's also and they work with your results. I've been pulled to another world before this one but when I arrived I was a crystal. Which might not make a lot of sense but there was a reason behind it and it might be similar to how we are represented in this world.
[Being a clone wouldn't be too bad. She's still herself and she at least knows her friends at home aren't without her.]
video
I left early after talking to David. He's a real rockstar with caring whether I ask him to drop something or not.
[ She did enjoy herself up until that point, but she's not likely to express it right now... ]
A crystal. Want to explain or am I just expected to know how that's relevant?
video
Well we were turned into our magic and in that world we took the form of a crystal. I don't know exactly what happened but it might be similar here. We have new forms and while we are still ourselves we are how this world can see us.
[She pauses.]
Sort of like each world has it's own set of rules.

Well, now. If telling the lot of Genessia they may well not be real doesn't cause a panic, we may just make it out of this.

[ If they're clones or newborns or whatever they are, that means this is their home. That means the people who disappear here are dead. ]
