[ Ferris was a bright young woman. It didn't take her long to figure things out, with the pamphlet she was provided. Figuring out the videophone took a little longer, but when she did manage to cue up a recording, the face of a beautiful blonde woman showed on the display. Her face, on the other hand, showed little to no expression as she began to speak. ]

Prior to my arrival in this place, I traveled with a man. My partner, Ryner Lute. He is an unrepentant sex fiend who lures women of all ages into his clutches, and discards them with nary a thought. I must know if such a person is in this place, immediately.

[ Because he's her important friend and she'll tear the head off anyone who lays a finger on him. She spent a long time searching for him, refusing to believe he was dead - ]

More importantly, I also wish to know the location of the nearest dango shops. [ She's sure whatever shops there are here will be subpar to the Wynnit dango shops, but she was willing to have an open mind in the matter. ]

[ Action ]
[ Shortly after making her post, she resumed her search through the Bay, passing a brief glance into some of the pods, finding most empty. Most, save for one. The familiar figure sleeping away had her breath a quiet sigh of relief, reassured by his presence. He was all right. For a second her mind stole back to the last memory she had, when she finally found him after nearly desperatelu searching, the embrace, and his arms around her - she shook her head slightly. Enough of that. Time 0to greet him in the usual fashion. ]

Oi, Ryner. Wake up.

[ Yes Ryner, wake up to the sight of your favorite bully as she hefted her godkilling sword above her head, then started to swing it down at the pod he's sleeping in, not even giving him a chance to start to wake up. She was confident he would be awake and dodge the strike in time. It's cool. Incidentally anyone in the area are of course free to come across the pair. ]

[He still doesn't imagine their time frame might not be the same.]

[ It is a blessing from the Dango God himself. HIs most loyal member would never gain an inch of fat. ]

[ Yeah she's staring again, and looking like you may be crazy. ]

You make less sense than usual, Ryner. The last we saw each other you were in the prison. Was this battle a dream you concoted in your sleep?

[It has to be.]

What? But that was weeks ago?!

[He doesn't understand. This has to be some kind of joke...unless.]

You said we last saw each other in the prison?

[ A very bad joke. She tilts her head slightly, confused. WEEKs ago? ]

Impossible.

[ She'd accuse him of being a bad liar but - he didn't actually look like he was lying. Also what could he possibly gain from lying about that? After absently chewing on another dango, she nodded to his question. ]

Correct. Did you misremember events?

[He frowns in thought as he ponders on the possible implication.]

No I didn't. These eyes prove it. And the lack of Alpha cackling about in my head.

[And as he says that he lightly activates his powers just enough to make his eyes shine but not with the red demonic light and pentacle.]

[ Whilst he ponders, she rolls a dango in her hand thoughtfully. Honestly it didn't make sense for them to have two different sets of memories. It was disturbing to think someone had messed with hers, or his. Unforgivable. ]

[ On the other hand, what he says does seem to be true. No Alpha, control over the power in his eyes. ]

Then how did it come about?

[ Because she feels like she missed out on a lot here. ]

[At the question of how he mastered his own power and exorcized Alpha, Ryner flinched visibly. He still remembered the pain, the blackness that followed once his eyes were gouged out and the crystal was removed. How Ferris cried while holding him as he slipped away. It was one of his most vivid memories.]

Well. You could said It took a trip to hell and back. Ah that's probably a bad choice of words.

[ Ferris fell silent, dango in hand as she stared at her friend. The subject was more sensitive than she'd anticipated. Better drop it for now. ]

Hnn.

[ A trip to hell and back, huh? Calmly, she returned her gaze to the dango in her hand, nibbling it until nothing was left. She doesn't say anything as she does this, pondering the implication of his memories compared to hers, licking remnants of the sweet from her fingers before reaching for another. ]

Yet our memories differ. [ She broke him out of the prison weeks ago, he said. But for her, it was just a few hours. ]

[It was touchy. After all in one day he discovered what he was, lost his beloved mother and killed over a million troops while taking out the monster that had plagued him for so long.]

Yeah. The only way I can explain that is if we come from different points in time. In other words I'm from the future and you're from the past.

So you have control over your ability then. Complete control. Is there anything else I should know?

[ Just to be brought up to speed; was that everything? ]

I don't just have control. It's even stronger. I can see the composition of everything around us. Right down to the matter that it is made of. I can see the connections the equations holding the whole thing together. And...I can solve them, erasing it from existence.

[YEs that's the kind of monster she decided to care about. Lovely isn't it?]

[ ... that... is unexpected to hear. But you know, you can't really help who you care for. And that kind of power aside, she still stood by her initial statement. That he was a pervert! ... wait, no, that he was not a monster. ]

I see...

[ Well, no, not really, but it was enough for her. Perhaps they should move on from this topic then. ]

Get up. You've lazed about long enough.

[ Yea, YOU've lazed about. Lazy one. She picked up the remaining boxes and plopped them down on his lap, clearly intending on him continuing to carry her goodies. ]

[SHe's taking this quite well. THen again she took it well even after the battle. What little he had a chance to talk to her that is.]

Yeah. Well at least I won't be going crazy anymore.

[He chuckles even if it comes out forced. But Ryner pauses when Ferris gets up and....unceremoniously drops the rest of the boxes in his lap.]

Wha- But I still have some of the dangos left on my end!

[ She's still processing. But Ferris is Ferris - she wasn't given to much in the way of outward reaction. The forced chuckle got a glance from her. ]

This is promises. By this, then you'll be able to control your carnal impulses as well.

[ She teases him so lovingly. No really. The protest though has her tilt her head a little. ]

Yes, and? [ This is your job, manservant! ]

[True and he can even see some tell tale sounds that she didn't exactly let his information go through one ear and out the other.]

If I had any such problem to begin with.

[Which he didn't but she would never let him have that.]

...Never mind. I'll finish them later.

[He sighs in resignation and puts his box on top of the others before lifting the whole stack up in his arms.]

[ In Ferris' mind, it's her favorite game. So even when you're not being a lewd pervert (which is always) you're being a lewd pervert, Ryner. ]

The first step to curing such deficiencies is acknowledging that you have them. You're still in denial.

[ Sage advice! She waved a hand. ]

Look there; It looks like that is an inn of some sort. [ You'll have to pay of course. ]

[If it was anyone else, he would question the person's creativity. But this was Ferris.]

Yes yes whatever you say.

[He's not going to let her story get him caught in its flow.]

So we're staying here?

[After all there were still two more gates left.]

[ She'll get you yet Ryner. And your little dango too! She glanced at him again, curious, and then shook her head. ]

There are still two more locations. However if you're keen to continue... we can go on.

[ She'd planned on letting him rest a little, but it looked like he didn't need it. WELL that'll be the last time she offers a freebie. Fufufu. ]

What is your opinion of this city? [ What he's seen of it anyway. ]

[Hopefully she'll be to busy with her own to come after his for a while.]

[Why does he feel like he just did something very stupid. Oh well no taking it back now. AT the question regarding the city, he looked around for a moment.]

Looks better than that first place. Though...it's really noisy. I doubt I'd be able to get a nap in a place like this.

[ She still had four boxes - it'd take her at LEAST to the end of the day, MAYBE tomorrow to finish those. His dango were safe. For now. ]

Cleaner, safer, perhaps. I don't sense malevolent presences here the way I did there. [ She nodded slightly, her gaze shifting upwards. ]

I don't care for those things. People climbing into them, traveling through the air under some power.

[ Give her a horse and carriage any day. Those things just looked horribly unsafe. Surprisingly, after she passed through the Gate to the city, she kept walking rather than threaten Ryner with another swipe for a choice in direction. Fayren it is! ]

Exactly. THough while it's all nice and amazing it doesn't feel comfortable.

[He agrees with a nod before smirking cheekily.]

Don't forget the living floor.

[He's not going to let her live that down just yet. Even so he followed Ferris' lead this time and into Fayren. Immediately Ryner could see and feel the difference.]

This place. There's actually magic in the air!

[ She WAS going to let that go, but y'know, she changed her mind. That cheeky comment is met with a warning glance, her blade unsheathed and held just in front of his throat. ]

Houu.. did you say something?

[ Teasing her about something like that. Nerve. Still regardless of reaction, she was surprisingly pleased by the change in atmosphere in Fayren. ]

Hmm, it seems more... familiar in this place as well. Perhaps this will be a more suitable location, if we are to stay for an extended period of time.

[ The one downside? The place didn't have dangos. But she could always make some. ]

[Maybe just maybe he loved living on the edge. That's the only rational explanation right?]

N-No no no nothing at all Lady Ferris!

[The previous place was certainly awe inspiring in terms of technology and other things. But this felt much closer to home. He didn't need convenience. All he wanted was a library maybe and some nice quiet place where he could nap whenever he felt like it.]

Yeah I could live with that. Best to make our temporary housing somewhere that feels closer to home.

[ It had to be the reason. He put up with her bullying so much after all, he clearly enjoyed those life or death threats she harassed him with on a whim. ]

Hmm.

[ Okay, you get to live this time Ryner. She lowers the sword and slides it back in place. ]

Yes, I agree.

[ That other city was unsettling, and tense - oppressively so. Here in Fayren it seemed like a total opposite. She could feel the prescences of other creatures moving about around them, but unlike in the other city, not all of them felt malevolent. ]

We'll need a map if we are to familiarize ourselves with this place properly.

[They will never know. Or they will. Time will tell.]

He's not about to grovel in thanks for his life being spared though]

Well first we should find an inn. We should be able to learn some more from there.

[Ryner scans the surroundings until he spots a hanging sign from one of the buildings.]
