[Sakura is a medium and while it isn’t a gift she uses all the time she is using it per Fai’s request to learn about those who call Everglade their home. She’s running all over Everglade talking to ghosts, spirits; some visible and some not to get their opinion of things.

In most cases it looks like she’s talking to air and each time she always seems to have a worried expression on her face. She has a clipboard in her arms and a pencil which she uses to scribble down notes.]

Are you sure?

[She asks the empty air in front of her with a frown.]

Okay.

[Sakura looks down at and nods feeling discouraged in her task.]

[When the feed flicks on it looks like Sakura is over thinking. She’s chewing her bottom lip and there is a second of silence before she remembers that she had turned the phone on.]

Does anyone know what it feels like when we die?

[That sounds depressing.]

I mean… I know it’s sad but… I guess I’ve been thinking about it a lot.

[The dead deserve to rest, they sounded so sad to Sakura and the princess has begun to put the weight of their happiness on her shoulders.]

It felt.. hmm. I was rather surprised. Meenah didn't announce to us that she was planning to detonate the tumor before it happened. Maybe for the best.

It happened too fast for it to hurt, so I think the biggest reaction was just the reaction to suddenly being in a dream bubble. It took awhile to realize that I was a figment. It's a... strange feeling. Realizing that you aren't... living anymore. Yet life goes on. It's hard to put to words.

Once Ted recovered from the shock of losing his job and the rat-disease of The Beautiful One, he'd go back to the usual of reading(or listening or watching) posts on the network. It's not being a busybody if it's on the internet, right? Plus you never know when information freely given will come in handy. Thank goodness people didn't use the private function much. Or so it seemed.

Gasp! Porrim's undead too? How odd, Ted thought. She never said. Did that explain...anything? Time for deep thoughts.

I don't think I can understand. I've talked to a lot of spirits and they all wish to rest in one form or another.

[The face of the Skullgirl appears in response, a strange thing for her to do, but she was feeling generous, a good sign to her that she was still herself. A long silence followed before she finally began.]

[In all honesty, Richard doesn't even like the idea of answering that question. He also doesn't like the idea of other people answering that question for her.]

Death is personal, Sakura. I'm sure it's different for everyone. [A pause.] Now why do you need to know? [He because believe him, he understanding needing to know the answer to difficult questions, but...yeah...]

[Sakura looks down after the familiar face graces her screen. He sounds almost... disappointed in her.]

I'm a medium... I can speak to spirits... they all sound so sad.

[She pauses looking away.]

I just want them to rest and to be happy.

[The first thing she'll hear when the audio initializes is a scoff.]

That's a heavy question, kid. You sure you want the answer? It's only supposed to happen once, you know. Maybe it's better off not knowing until it happens for you.

[There is a slight pause before she decides she might as well explain.]

I can hear them. Spirits and ghosts, I can see them. They all sound very sad... they want to rest.

It depends on how you die. It's hard to explain, but I've experienced a few peoples' deaths through their eyes before. I've never met someone who enjoyed it or really wanted it, it's not a good feeling.

It doesn't sound like a good feeling. Every spirit I've talked to just wants to be freed, I don't know why they are forced to stay here.

It's sad.

I am afraid that the only individuals with the required expertise to answer that question are in no position to do so. Not even the most dreadfully wounded warrior can answer it if they successfully cling to life.

And if you die here you don't stay dead. I know that more than a few have experiance with this... I know it isn't fair to ask.

[Hearing Sakura of all people ask a question like that concerns him a little. Needless to say, he's hesitant to say anything he knows. Sure, he only nearly died, but he knew someone else who did. For now, he decides to look and sounds almost uncharacteristically concerned.]

It's something that some people shouldn't be concerned about yet. Especially not at your age.

[He realizes that may have sounded a little condenscending, and for once he didn't mean it to be.]

[Little does Sakura know but she'll have to face death in only a few months should she return home.]

I don't know.

[She shakes her head.]

I'm just concerned about those who are dead. It isn't fair to them.

[Belle knew she wouldn't be able to answer the question from someone who has never died before, so really she had no idea.]

Honestly, I don't think knowing will make it any better for anyone because either way both the one who died and the people who they knew it's very painful.

I guess I should have asked why people stay and not move on... if they're forced too...

[Her voice breaks off feeling unsure if she should say more.]

[Hikari paused for a moment, death is not something she overly thinks about as it just brings up terrible memories for her. Sure the digimon was in her mind permanently but she knew they could never come back to live.]

I... don't think that's the best subject to talk about. Though I guess as you are in Everglade I assume you#ve been talking to ghosts or something to make you wonder.

[Sakura nods her head. She knows it's not a very nice thing to ask but no one has to answer.]

[Maxine sighs, she has seen enough death around her for a lifetime, costantly rewinding time and trying to save as many lives as possible- maybe she never experienced it firsthand but...]

I think it really depends on how you die. I've seen- [She even killed her best friend at some point] -people die in my world and.. [She pauses] I think it really depends on how you go. But I never experienced it first hand...

Neh, Sakura? [She tries to offer her a smile] It's no good to think too much about death, you know? Do you want to do something to keep your mind busy?

[It's been hard to think of anything else since she started helping Fai.]

[Fai had seen the video and he didn't get what knowing about how the feeling of death actually helps them. He just felt like she was taking on a lot more than she should be and just making herself feel bad on purpose. it was making him wonder if it really was a smart idea to make her a Deputy. After speaking to the leader of the emergency group to make sure everything was set for strange occurrences he had gone to find her.]

Sakura-chan, can I have a word privately?

[Sakura looks over at Fai and then smiles. She excuses herself from the invisible specter and walks over.]

Yes? What is it?

[Her clip board is held close to her chest and her eyes look hopefully up at Fai. She isn't planning to stop helping him even if he fires her.]

I know what it feels like to live when death would have been a blessing. I know what it's like to wish another would not have to suffer any longer. I also know what it's like to carry the weight of the lives I was responsible for but failed to protect.
