Who: Airy & OPEN
Where: Genessia Hospital
When: March 29th - April 3rd
What: After these happenings. She's in the hospital for a few days before being allowed to head home and some text's to friends.
Warnings: Talks of Blood and injuries.
[Airy doesn't remember the first 12 hours in the hospital which saves her from at least twelve hours of boredom. She isn't good at staying put and thinking about her kidnapping makes her head spin and then hurt. She can't have caffeine or anything else she enjoys because of the medicine they have her taking and the steady stream of blood being pumped into her arm. Her ankle and shoulder are bandaged but the painkillers stop them from hurting.
The worst part about painkillers is that they make it to hard to focus on things like reading or writing but it isn't enough to just knock her out and make her sleep. She ends up playing a lot of candy crush on her phone; after sending a few somewhat awkward texts to those she knew.
Her stomach rumbles and she drops her phone onto her abdomen as if that might make the insistent feeling go away. Airy really likes eating, specifically breakfast, and while the food here isn't awful it isn't very good either. She misses real food and that fact alone makes her sad.]
Text; OPEN
I'm bored. Anyone interested in talking? Or telling me a story? Any distraction?
Private Text; Danny & Dave & Nathan
Thank you for saving me.
Private Text; Cas
Sorry... I have the candy and real, not spidery moving twinkies. Something came up... I don't know when I'll be able to stop by. I haven't forgotten though!
I'll see you soon okay?

[ thoughtful hum ] I've got twelve mixes of Space Jam. Including one I did using a sound bite of a dog for Jade. Bark Jam. You said she revamped or something, right? What's it sound like?
no subject
I'm not being nice. I'm just being honest.
[Her lips form a slight pout before the topic of Space Jam filled her thoughts.]
Here. [Airy glides her fingers across her phone allowing a song to sound through Dave's speakers. Without realizing she's doing Airy starts swaying along to the song as if she's resisting the urge to dance. It's to embarrassing to dance, not to mention there is an IV in her arm right now.
Her lips begin to lip sync to the words however Airy isn't singing out loud. She's a decent singer but horribly self conscious.]

he sits back in his head, crossing his arms when she starts the song. he's facing forward so it's not entirely clear he's watching her reaction to the song for most of it. she's failing to resist the urge to dance to this song that's such a feel-good pop jam, it's ridiculous. this is the kind of song, that in the past, he'd be required to dislike as a real song and probably not get to like it ironically. or would he have to shove shove it down so many layers of irony that singing along with it was the only option?
he spends the first minute mulling that over. how to comment on it without breaking a certain wall of cool before he realizes he doesn't have to do that anymore and nobody fucking cares. i'm dancing on my own. make the moves up as they go. and that's what they don't know.
airy's mouthing along. why doesn't she just sing with it? she obviously likes it. he bets she wouldn't sound half bad. but he doesn't sing along to any song he likes so he can't say a damn thing. he's tapping a finger on his arm, perfectly on beat. he turns to the headphones at the song's bridge. damn. taylor swift is breaking it down. this song is so stupidly catchy. how dare she. ]
Shake it off. Shake it off... [ the under-the-breath singing. welp. it got him. he's more than a decent singer but never uses it on anything outside of rapping. NOBODY HEARD THAT. damn taylor swift and her sick beats. time to move on. ]
What else you got?
no subject
Okay…let’s see. I think you said 2007 was what you remembered last right? [She has a lot of older songs she has to move through.] Oh, David Guetta is pretty neat. Here, this is one of my favorite songs he did.
[Her finger swipes across her phone again and the song beings to play. She looks up at Dave curiously for a moment as the intro starts.]
I also have more dancey songs, or soft metal, rock, some country… Blues… Hip hop. Really music has just bend blending together and I don’t know what anything is anymore. I have like two rap songs and a bunch of soft rap that I don’t think is rap. Sorta like Linkin Park rap where it’s talking in a cool rhythm but then they sing the chorus lines. Oh man, you missed Lady Gaga too… I feel like you’d have liked her. Then I like things like Sick Puppies… I’m trying to remember when they became popular. Onerepublic… I don’t know how popular they were. Um… [Remembering when things came out is hard.] I also have a bunch of Disney and musicals but Imma skip past those.
[As the chorus of the song begins Airy laps into silence and once again has to stop herself from singing along.]

2009. April 13th, if you want to be specific. [ light correction. he uncrosses his arms in favor of leaning forward on his knees with his elbows. he pays a lot of attention to the music, so he's a lot quieter with it playing. i will never win this game without you. oh. fuck this song. ]
Mmhm. Really? Blended. [ head. tip. ] Don't you play me Linkin Park. [ a slight smirk ] Oh man. No, I do like Gaga. Bro and I had our suspicions she was working on this crazy high level of irony but we only just got her. Pokerface is undeniably pretty fucking amazing. Like. Those lyrics? "Let's some fun this beat is sick. I wanna take a ride on your disco stick." [ okay. he's just outright singing lady gaga for a second there. he clears his throat ] There was so much potential. R.I.P. Gaga. Glad you exist in another reality.
[ ah. airy's refraining from singing along again. it causes him to pay more attention to it. this song is a little closer to what he'd intentionally put on but not there yet. little too sad. sappy lovey missing bullshit.
he misses his friends. ]
no subject
Do you always remember dates like that? Like birthdays? [Airy is bad with birthdays.
Her lips curl into a smile when he sings Lady Gaga.] You sing really well and I'd be disappointed if Gaga wasn't in most realities. I feel like it's needed.
[As that song comes to an end she turns down the volume since a Nightwish song follows.] What do you want to listen to next? Ah... maybe I should just let you look at this list... some of these songs are embarrassing like the Broadway sound track to Wicked. My mom likes musicals and dancing and all that stuff. [Which meant that Airy took dance classes among other things to fuel her mothers interests.]
no subject
[ is she complimenting his singing now? oh my god. his lips press together ] I wonder what Troll Gaga would've turned out like. [ possibly... more outrageous??? is that even possible? ] Yeah, pass it over. Lemmie see. You can flip through mine if you want but I doubt my self-titled songs are gonna make a lot of sense to you. [ he motions for her phone. pass it over. let's gander at this playlist. ] The one with the Wicked Witch becoming the head cheerleader of Oz high or something? [ dave doesn't know anything about broadway. ]
no subject
[Airy laughs softly. Dave manages to say a lot about himself without her even prompting him to. She finds that she likes listening to him though for no particular reason that it's interesting. Maybe being normal really is over rated.]
I've still never met a troll. [That she knows of.] Oh, ah. Sorta. It's... just skip past those. [There are maybe 7 songs from musicals on her phone, 15 Disney songs, 28 dance songs, 50 songs that you could classify as oldies which fall into a mixture of classic rock and blues and then several years of top 100's along with a hand full of rap, country and soft metal songs. It's all over the place since Airy's simply collected music from those she knows. She doesn't even know all the songs on her phone.
That being said she hands over her phone and takes a look at his. She doesn't know any of the songs but the titles sound cool.]
[ooc feel free to make up songs on her playlist. Airy has more music than I do.]
no subject
[ he shakes his head, likely at himself for her having to figure out the 'short answer' to what he's saying and at the amusement of it. he takes her phone in his hand, looking at nothing but the designated music tracks on there. well. damn. she sure loaded this thing up. he's looking with amusement. obviously selects pokerface the second he sees it. let's it play while he goes through.
he's got like +25 albums worth of tracks in his phone. they're in no reasonable order because dave does not keep it organized in the slightest.
mixed in are the squiddles soundtrack (the track titles are changed to "jade's squids" followed by a number), at least two snoop dogg albums, and the previously mentioned space jam mixes. there's also at least 50 tracks that don't actually HAVE names that if played would turn out to be a random sound he recorded/had sent to him a while ago with the hopes of it turning into a sweet mix later. they range from normal things like crows cawing, ocean waves, piano keys being hit, a dog barking, and rain; to strange things like something animal that can only be describe as going "naknaknak", high-pitched squeaking, a chainsaw, and the sound of someone yelling "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK" at the top of their lungs for almost a full minute before it gets cut off by dave laughing ]
no subject
[She'll probably forget but she'll try not to.
Her finger move down the phone and just as she expects she knows almost none of Dave's music. When she finds the sound files she giggles to herself, assuming they were there for some specific reason.]
I'd love to listen to more of your music.
[It'd probably take hours.]
no subject
he's starting and stopping a lot of tracks, getting a feel of them. he skips around to the middle of songs to catch courses before moving on. pitbull seems just downright lovable for some reason. he lingers on ke$ha with obvious confusion evident in his face because he was definitely expecting her to be one of the very few outright rap tracks in there and she sure is leaning more towards popstar ] ...Huh. [ party rock anthem gets the honor of being the second song he lets play all the way, bobbing his head along with it while going through. ]
We could put my shit back on. [ how much time you got, airy? ] I could send you whatever you like if you want it.
no subject
Really? [She flashes a tooth grin at him as if saying yes, please share.] yeah, I mean... I think they're keeping me here for at least another day. So I have time.
[She laughs before shaking her head.]
You can leave when you get bored though. I can listen to music for hours.
no subject
Are they? That sucks. You seem a lot better now. [ he doesn't think he could handle being in a hospital bed for more than a day. he'd probably flip his shit. ]
As if I can't. I don't really have anything better to do so if it's cool with you I'll just hang around till the doc kicks me out when visiting hours are over or you wanna take a nap. [ if nobody makes him leave, there's a really high chance he'll stay right in this chair the entire night ]
no subject
She's just trying not to think about it.] Yeah, They just need to make sure that my shoulder doesn't get infected or something. Then they said they'd give me bandages since I have to keep it clean.
[She laughs softly and the shakes her head. God she wishes she had a hair brush. It's depressing, sitting in the hospital room by herself. She probably wouldn't be so happy if Dave wasn't around. Being sick and by yourself is no fun.] But yeah, definitely cool with me. I'm sure if we ask you can stay past visiting hours. It's not like I'm in intensive care or anything.
[She starts a random track on Dave's phone which happens to just be the sound of a dog barking. Biting her lip to hold back her laughter she selects an actual song.]
no subject
Mm. Yeah. Wounds can get fucking nasty if there's an infection. [ he says it like he knows from experience. ] They'll probably make it pretty painless. I mean, you got pain killers and shit.
[ the return of the tiny smile. oh good. she's not sick of him yet. she's even suggesting they ask if he can linger around longer ] If they say it's cool to hang out, I'll just go fetch you more stuff when the doctor changes that. [ give her privacy, service a purpose, and hide from doctors in one trip. he stands up for a second to scoot the chair over - not looking at her ]
Did you just bark? [ current background music ]
no subject
[She smiles clearly pleased with her joke. Though it'd be rather funny if she did forget.] The pain medicine mostly makes me sleep.
[Airy smiles as he moves the chair closer. She feels so useless being stuck in bed.]
Sounds like a good plan and no that was your phone. Are you going to keep making music here? [He should, because it's awesome.]
no subject
Just let me know if you're gonna conk out on me. [ he's close enough she could reach her arm over and swat at his head if she needs him to shut up. he doubts she would. ]
Oh, yeah. That's for the Bark Jam. [ he nods ] Yeah. I like doing it. I don't have all my equipment so I'm going to have to start basic for a little.
no subject
I'll try to let you know but if I'm already asleep I'm not sure how I can tell you. [Airy does talk in her sleep. It might be embarrassing come morning if she's had a full conversation with Dave while being asleep. It's only happened once before but she wouldn't want to chance it.]
Have you checked out Nova City? I know it's all futuristic. I bet old tech would be cheaper.
[It like cheating the system.]
I wonder how the economy works between all the places. [It sounds complicated.]
no subject
Yeah. That's where I got the headphones. All I could afford though. [ he wrinkles his nose ]
They all use the same currency so it probably runs about the same as any group of places would. I wouldn't want to get all wrapped up in it. Economies are way complicated and that's why people always complain about them. [ current background music ]
no subject
[She lightly pushes on Dave's shoulder, if only to counter his smug face.]
Mmmm, if you make lots of music I'd be willing to help. ONLY if you make more awesome songs and let me listen to them first. [She really likes music and she's willing to support talent.]
Like this song. I really like it. You ever wonder what people would sound like if they were a son? [It's not completely random, all of Dave's music sorta sounds like him in a weird way. It's cool.]
no subject
What do you mean help? Like fund my music career? You were jobless too last I checked. [ he doesn't really think he could take money from her. too nice. too nice. he shakes his head ] I'll let you listen to them first anyway.
You'd have terrible taste if you didn't. [ he pauses, looking over at her ] If they were a song? [ leaning back in his seat, looking up at the ceiling ] Sure. Why? You think this one sounds like me personified into a sick beat? I don't know if I'd pick this one.
no subject
I still don't have a job so I can't fund it but I can try and help. Maybe collect stuff? [She'd totally give him money too.]
Ah, yeah. What song would you be?
[This has her the most curious. Melodies can be just as complex as people, maybe everyone could be turned into a song.]
no subject
[ a finger moves up to his face and he taps it on his chin a few times. his brows knit together while he actually considers the question. ]
Out of my shit or something I've heard?
no subject
[SHE CAN HELP!]
Either. You can chose from all the songs you know, even future ones, but I want to hear it if possible.
no subject
he wants to pick something cool. he wants it to be the best song ever. he doesn't know if that suits him. he considers throwing a joke song out to make her laugh instead of thinking as hard as he started to about it. yeah.
after a long pause he plays one of his untitled sound clips for her with a fraction of a smirk on his face. that's what he picked. the song that autoplays after it, is not. he just shrugs at it.
sure. that can be him. whatever. he doesn't know what the actual answer would be. ]
I got nothing.
