I'm not the greatest ad spokesperson in the world, but as usual, if you know science, the Genessian Scientific Research Foundation could use your help. We're seriously understaffed right now and the more people we have working, the more likely we are to find something. I'm a surgeon-turned-assistant medical examiner-turned-pathologist, there are only so many possibilities I can cover or you'd probably be getting more frequent updates, Genessia.

How many of you are from the U.S.? I know this isn't exactly the home-of-the-brave here, but I'll admit to missing out on barbecues and fireworks. Is anyone doing anything tomorrow?

[ Liv had categorically refused to go into Everglade unless someone needed her help. Fortunately, there were enough healers around that it hadn't really become an issue. Not enough that anyone ever sent out a call for a medical doctor anyway. All of those people tended to end up at a hospital of some kind if they weren't healed immediately.

Which is why when she was on her way to meet Toby, she always insisted they meet at the Everglade gate. She'd found that it was kind of nice having a person around who understood why she couldn't tell her secret who wasn't also busy with work all the time (David, as good of a friend as he was to her) or seemed to think it was a big cosmic joke (Blaine, the man who infected her in the first place). As it turned out, as with back home, the more people she could trust the better she felt about anything. Even if she still hadn't found her purpose, she was still trying. THat was better than the first time- no couch-bound Liv today.

She wasn't sure where they were going today, just that they'd decided to hang out, so Liv waited by the archway gate, messing around on her phone while she waited. ]

look she asked on the network but then he's opening the apartment door and closes it with a sluggishness. there's an increase in paleness, dark-circles around the eyes, and yeah he sure does look like shit.

[ Hey, at least she's been concerned about what happened to him. The serial murders didn't exactly scream safety to her. Then again, neither did this. ]

That's not a funny story. That's the opposite of a funny story.

[ They didn't have a cure or any way to fix this. And that's the last of what she had in the fridge and she's already done with work today so she can't get any more tomorrow so she's just kind of watching him looking generally dismayed- both at the fact that he's eating her brains and that he needs to eat her brains now. ]

[Belle felt like she should get out of the house more and she knew she would feel at least more comfortable when she was around people she felt safe with.]

I believe Storybrooke is apart of the U.S, but even if it wasn't if you were planning on doing something I would do something if you were thinking of anything.

[Toby has far to much free time between not having an official job and not wanting an official job. He takes bounties and then stalks or hunts in the forest around Everglade. Nothing feels quite like a good stretch and a long run for a werewolf.

He doesn't actually have a lot of friends though he's starting to recognize them after that psycho posted his actions on the web; it brought back memories he'd rather forget and has made him want to try to have friends again. Clearly, things have changed since high school when it comes to social situations.

When he does finally arrive his fists are balled in his pockets and he's walking at a leisurely pace towards the archway. He's mostly on time.

Toby raises a hand as he steps closer.] Hey. [His plans for today are really very simple. Drag Liv into Everglade, maybe grab a beer or walk around town and maybe see it's night life. Really it depends on what his company wants to do.]

I have no idea. I don't actually know what we're doing enough to get ready for it.

[ She hasn't exactly been let in on the plan yet. She'd shown up because she trusted Toby, she liked him. Liv didn't have issues with social situations aside from the chronic need to lie about who she was. Or rather, what she was, which infected every part of her to change who she was. ]

I'm not agreeing to anything until I know the details [ and even then big corporation trust is a huge iffy after Max Rager. she's only ok with schnee co. because honestly what are you going to do with welcoming services?? Plus they're really hands-off with the research. ] but we could always use more funding.

There's a New York subarch we're thinking about heading to so you might be taking a trip home if you want to come. OR some variant of home.

The younger Komeiji seemed just as enthused as she usually did. "Hello Miss. If you or anyone ever need help with anything I'm available. I'm not a kappa so I don't know that much about medicine or science or anything like that, but I wouldn't mind learning. Or even just run errands or be an extra set of limbs."

A pause. "Also, why would there be barbecues and fireworks tomorrow? Is it a holiday? I can make pretty light shows too!"

Errands are easy enough to run, it's really people who know the sciences well enough to actually do them that we need. I can only cover so many fields and not having anyone to bounce ideas off of isn't getting me anywhere.

It's a United States holiday. The traditional methods of celebration are barbecues with lots of meat and lighting fireworks once the sun goes down. Also block parties, but I don't think we're doing anything that big. We've got all the makings of a potluck though.

I'm American myself but I don't have any plans for the 4th. To be honest, before you mentioned it I didn't realize how close it is. [Abduction with do that to a person.]

But while I don't have plans, I wouldn't mind joining in if there are other people who want to throw something together. I'm pretty decent with a barbecue.

Time has a way of getting away from people here. Especially if they're new. It probably wasn't all that close back home for you if you are.

Thank god. I've been in charge of the barbecue so far and I'm much better at cooking things that aren't straight-forward.

[ Or rather, complicating recipes to hide the taste of certain ingredients. ] You'd be a real hero if you saved our barbecue from my grilling.
