Weapons experts.
Kind of without a weapon right now and not even sure if I should get it out of the stupid rock.
[His poor family heirloom. Even if it's probably safer in there than in his hands.]
I'm looking to build my own. It's a tradition where I'm from. I'm also wondering what made you choose yours? If it works for you, there must be a reason.
[Maybe not one of the more hopeful reasons he would have believed in the past. He's done with that. But one that makes sense.]
Stay on topic.

My answer is yes.

My answer is yes.

Not that some stranger needs to know that. ] Power isn't a competition.

[He isn't going to go out of his way to insult her. That would require effort, and she hasn't said anything that hits any nerves that might make him lose his temper otherwise. But he doesn't agree with her either.
It's an awfully idealistic way of looking at things, and it doesn't matter if she doesn't see power as a competition as long as others do. But that's her choice to make.]

The knowledge to apply enough power to a situation is a realistic goal to aim for. The wisdom to hold back even greater.
Then again, some of us prefer to just not get involved in trifling matters and instead are forced to live with the consequences that come with arrogant displays of power.
[ Then there are those who seek out power to defend those who refuse to act on their own. Alisaie is choosing to ignore them for the time being. ]
My thoughts on that are beside the point. I cannot make my grimoire whole because the other piece is in the hands of someone who chooses to carelessly spend his days nearly getting killed or arrested. Troublesome boy, that one is.

Realitic goals? That he can get behind. But sometimes it's hard to tell tone with text, so if she wants to take him seriously, he won't correct her.]
So why not just, I don't know, take it from him?
[He sounds like a danger to himself just take it and become more powerful it would probably do more good in her hands.]

If I were to ask him for it, what do you think he would say? No? That would be the first. Why not give my share to him instead? Undoubtedly that would be the second part.
Grandfather presented them to us in order to foster camaraderie between us. [ Some good that did. ] You are an expert at weapons, you claimed? Correct?

You don't have to ask. You could always lie.
What? I don't even know my way around a sword. [He knows the anatomy of one and how to build some different types in theory though, thanks to Weiss.] But I need a weapon in less than a month so I need to learn about them.

You have mine apologies for that.
If you would build your own, I could aid you in the task. I am no blacksmith but I have more than enough gems on hand to help imbue a weapon.
Or to heal grievous wounds. [ You know, in case he hurts himself trying to craft something. ]

But he's just afraid. He freezes, unable to even reply to her offer for a while. There is something incredibly frustrating about knowing you need help but fearing accepting it. He finally manages a response.]
Gems?
I need to see the person I'm talking to before I work with you.
[It doesn't mean she's any less dangerous. Anyone can look harmless. But it's better than going into there with no idea at all.]
