Weapons experts.
Kind of without a weapon right now and not even sure if I should get it out of the stupid rock.
[His poor family heirloom. Even if it's probably safer in there than in his hands.]
I'm looking to build my own. It's a tradition where I'm from. I'm also wondering what made you choose yours? If it works for you, there must be a reason.
[Maybe not one of the more hopeful reasons he would have believed in the past. He's done with that. But one that makes sense.]

What he doesn't believe is Chopper has never used a weapon. He has too much knowledge, even if it was only from observation. He could just as easily be lying.]
Your world hasn't been fully explored? [It sounds fantastical. Like a story he would have enjoyed. But he's past that. He'll try to focus on the logic and rules of said world.]
Yours is the only one that sounds like it would actually be an advantage. Why do you all turn into hammers? Shouldn't it be different for each individual? How much water does it have to be? Is there a limit? What's a nakama?

[Oh god, SPARKLE MODE ACTIVATED!!!]
His name was Gold Roger, and he actually explored the entire world and left his treasure behind for anyone who managed to do the same! There are six different parts of the world, the North/South/East/West seas, the Grand Line, and the New World, and Luffy is going to be the next Pirate King and find One Piece!
[After a few moments of random potentially incoherent babbling, he'll manage to calm down again.]
The human-human fruit? It would only be an advantage to an animal, actually. A person can only eat one so what if a human ate it? Nothing would change except they'd drown in seawater. But that's just a few people from our crew. Luffy's older brother can turn himself into fire, and there are marines here who can turn into ice or smoke. We ran into a guy who could slow another person down once, and there are humans who can turn themselves into animals.
[A slight shrug.]
Nobody knows, but every devil fruit has the same weakness. Even putting a hand or foot into the ocean starts making us feel limp. Or there's a type of seastone that can create the same effect... One of the marines here has a weapon with seastone in it.
[And then he'll take a longer and more thoughtful pause.]
Nakama... are different than friends or family. Family tends to be related by blood and aren't something that can be chosen. Friends can come and go, but nakama will always be nakame. They're people who are closer than either and people you wouldn't mind dying for and always accept you for who and what you are.
[And he'll get a slightly silly grin.]
Luffy and the rest didn't care if I looked like a monster, they thought I was cool and wanted me around. Even my own herd kicked me out because I had a blue nose, but nakama stick together no matter what.

Eating a fruit...makes people drown? [He just wants to make sure he's following correctly. He pauses, tugging his hood up and holding his arm.] I guess those kind of abilities could be convenient.
This whole fruit thing sounds more like a story than something based in...reality. Are the two kinds connected somehow?
[His expression turns unreadable.] I think I understand what you mean. Your herd's a bunch of idiots, by the way. Sorry for...reacting that way, I'm just.

One Piece is what Gold Roger's treasure is called since he said he left it in one piece. And... I guess that's a good summary of a devil fruit.
[And then a shrug. Beats him, nobody knows.]
It's ok, I wouldn't trade even a day with the others for a year with the herd. Are you alright?
[After a brief close look over Jaune, Chopper with cross his arms with a slight frown.]
You look like shit. How much sleep have you gotten in the last seventy two hours? How much water have you drank? Are you eating? When was the last time you used the toilet?
[Yes, the cute chibi is using language like that. But it was true.]

How do you know it's his treasure? There are probably lots of people who claim to have found his treasure, just to get attention or make some money.
I feel the same about my friends.
[Before he can answer him, he's trying to figure out how many days 72 hours is again. It should be a simple answer.]
None. I think. I don't remember. I try not to. Some water, I guess? I had some pizza so yes I'm eating. A couple of hours ago. Why? I'm fine. Go doctor someone else.
[He wishes he could curse as well as Chopper.]

[Shaking off the mood, shake it off... shake it-*shot*]
Roger said he left his treasure in one piece so everyone just started calling it One Piece. So far nobody's claimed to have found it, I've never even heard rumors of fake claims.
[Noooooooo, doctors are doctors are doctors, even with blue noses! And he's just gonna sloooowly slide out of his chair and move slowly over.]
Pirates do what they want! You can let me be a doctor or you can be like Zoro and make me sit on you! If you let me at least take your temperature and stuff I won't shift out of this shape.
[And then a grin.]
I'll even share my cotton candy.

[He should have known better. Just because Chopper was a tiny shapeshifting reindeer doctor didn't mean he hadn't gone through anything with his...nakama? It was the same way people still looked at Jaune and saw someone naive and hopeful. They chose what they wanted to see, ignoring everything else.
Well, they had. Now people mostly avoided him.]
That's surprising. You could make a lot of money faking a legend like that.
You're not sitting on me. [A thoughtful pause.] I'll take your cotton candy.
[Cotton candy is always worth it.]

[A little shrug and the almost magical production of a bag of cotton candy from his backpack. A good look would show that he's also carrying a mini-surgery center in that pack.]
But that was two years ago. I haven't heard of anyone making or faking the discovery but that doesn't mean the world government hasn't kept any claims from being printed.
[And now that the reward has been plopped in Jaune's lap, Chopper will be taking the usual temp/blood pressure/pulse/eyes-ears-nose-mouth examination with amazingly gentle hooves.]
But in the end, at least one of the four pirate emperors or the seven warlords would have acknowledged someone who actually found the One Piece.

[When he sees the surgical tools, he steps back. He's not a fan of the idea of surgery on a good day, and now the thought of allowing that to happen puts him on edge.]
Do they have that much control over what's printed?
[His blood pressure is probably a little higher than what should be normal, the same goes for his pulse. It doesn't help that he's more than a little tense. His temperature is normal, and as he numbly eats the cotton candy, he freezes and stops eating it for a moment. But once it stops, he keeps eating it.
Cotton candy makes everything better.]
So it's pirates that rule your world. That's more interesting than having kingdoms. What's the difference between a pirate emperor and pirate king?

Not that he'd actually stop Jaune from doing the above actions, he hadn't been successful in stopping Luffy, Zoro, or Sanji from dodging his medical judgment why should Jaune be any different? Not that Jaune knew that.
"Not at the moment, no. There was a balance between pirates and marines before the War of the Best two years ago. It's a bit of a complicated explanation but... Well, our world contains four directional seas along with two connecting bodies of water called the Grand Line and the New World. The navy tends to be the law-enforcement spread along all the various islands, but there is a difference between local governments and the world nobles."
Chopper will actually start going through the pile he'd made and start tossing the weapons into one pile, the shields into another, and anything he can't figure out into a third. He might accidentally shift back into his near seven-foot form. "A simple break-down would be that the governments and the navy try to make everyone live by rules they didn't personally agree to but are protected by, and pirates decide what rules they live by but nobody else agreed to.
