*She wonders why he's even there if he dislikes it so much, but she knows that's rude to ask, especially as he seems to uncomfortable. Sonico watches as the ride in front of them slows and people start getting out*

I'm sorry, are you waiting for someone?

[Terrance looks at her and regards her seriously for a few seconds.]

No. I'm not the sort of person one goes to meet.

[He has no friends Sonico.]

*The way he looks at her and the way he speaks makes Sonico drop her gaze to look at her feet. She doesn't really know how to reply to that*

I wanted to thank you, for the other night. It was very good of you to help me get home. I also wanted to apologise...if I was...strange or said or did anything to make you uncomfortable...

[Terrance lightly puts his hand on top of Sonico's head.]

You're welcome. [He pauses for a few seconds studying her.] I wouldn't have done that if I didn't want to and you weren't at all weird.

[His hand drops away and finds its way back into his pocket.]

You're feeling better love?

*When he puts his hand on her head, Sonico looks up at him and smiles timidly*

..okay! I'm glad!

*She nudges against him gently and nods*

Much! My brain felt like it was being crushed the next day! It was bad!

You shouldn't drink that much or accept drinks from strangers.

[It really isn't safe, she's lucky there hadn't been anything in those drinks.]

They were just being friendly. It would have been rude not to drink them, wouldn't it?

*Sonico is looking at him as though genuinely looking for an answer about this one*

No, it wouldn't have been rude to politely decline them.

[She hadn't finished one of the drinks anyway.]

Or if you're going to do that... call me. Kay?

Oh. Then maybe that's what I should've done.

*Sonico glances down at her feet and shuffles her boots awkwardly*

I was just surprised, I guess, by so many men being so generous.

*She rolls a shoulder in a half shrug then looks back up at him*

So I should accept the drinks and drink them all and then call you?

No... call me first.

[If a guy wants to buy her a drink with him sitting next to her then he's probably a decent guy and not a creep about to lace her drink with some sketchy drug. Honestly, he has no idea how she's managed to grow up and have nothing bad ever happen to her.]

It's common sense to not accept food or drink from strangers. Didn't you learn that in school?

[He's seriously asking because he's worried about her.]

Well, sure, I'll call you first. And if there are no guys around then you can buy me some of those tasty cocktails instead!

*No, really, she's teasing. Or maybe she's not. She frowns a little at his question, gently shaking her head*

No... I was always taught to accept food and drink as a token of friendship, as a sign of good manners.

[Terrance snorts softly, maybe if he had more money.]

Who taught you that? In what context? It depends on where you are and what your doing to know if it's acceptable or safe.

There's never really been any context. But - my friends would be pleased. They've always talked about men buying them drinks and paying them lots of attention.

*Sonico scuffs her feet again then watches as a girl goes past holding a giant cat plush*

Those men said some very nice things. Some said...weird things. Hmm...

*She glances around again for the girl and points to the huge cuddly cat she's carrying*

I want one of those - so cute!

[Terrance rolls his shoulders, turns out she's just like most girls but then he wonders why she's talking to him. Sigh. His eyes follow her fingers to the cat plush.]

How do you get one?

[He hasn't really been paying attention to what stuffed animals are where.]

*Though, despite the fact she had accepted the drinks out of kindness, none of the men had been invited to sit down with her, and none had spoken with her for long at all. For Sonico, drinking their drinks really was just being polite*

Maybe there's a stall selling one. Unless it's a prize.

*Slightly away from the rides appear to be various stalls for winning things, including large plush cats*

I'm going to go find out! You want to come too?

Sure.

[With his hands in his pockets he follows behind her, looking over her head to see if he can spot that ridiculous prize. He eyes some of the games and while they look simple they look as if there is a small part of them that makes it difficult.]

These are all rip offs.

[As they walk Terrance is going to start smoking.]

Hmm. I think you might be right.

*Then clearly she spots it because she begins walking quicker towards one of the stalls where some of the cats were on display*

Here they are!

*But then her faces falls when she sees what the game is - throwing a tiny hoop on some very precarious and awkward targets*

This looks impossible.

Improbable.

[He corrects her automatically.]

We already saw someone else win it.

[Terrance studies the game curiously. He understands how it works but having an understanding and having the dexterity to toss a tiny hoop are two totally different things.]

Let's try.

Okay. Improbable.

*Sonico can't help but actually smile at the way he corrects her*

I'm willing to bet that little girl didn't do it by herself, either.

*She looks at him uncertainly but shuffles forward to ask the uninterested atttendant to have a go. She looks a bit alarmed at how much it is to try, but takes money from her pocket and hands it over*

[Terrance has to resist his initial impulse to just swipe the toy and leave before the attendant knows it's gone. He steps up next to Sonico and pulls out his wallet and the small collection of red bills there. He really isn't used to having money.]

I get it. I'll play too.

[He isn't going to pay for her since that'd involve stealing the money from her hand but he'll place enough red bills down for 10 plays.]

You can go first.

*Sonico looks a bit startled at the suggestion that he was going to play too*

N-no, no. You don't have to. That isn't -

*She almost reaches out a hand to stop him paying but it's too late. Instead, she puts down an equal amount in case they need another 10 plays*

Alright. I'm ready!

*Sonico bounces on the balls of her feet for a moment as she takes the small plastic hoop. Then she stops deadly still, takes a deep breath, and chucks the hoop. It smacks the back of the stall and rolls away*

Oh...

[Terrance carefully weighs the ring in his palm. It's light though there isn't an wind to redirect his force. If he's going to make it he has to get the angel just right and while he might look silly doing it, it means throwing it underhanded so that the ring is about to loop and fall in the appropriate place.

After a few seconds he throws the plastic ring and watches as it taps the top of his goal and bounces away.]

Close.

[Though he might not be able to do much better. He has no practice with this sort of hand-eye coordination and he doesn't believe in luck.]

So close!

*Sonico claps her hands together in appreciation of his efforts*

Okay! I'll try again!

*So she does. Again and again and again. Sometimes she is close, sometimes not even. After one particularly bad throw the attendant just snorts: "Look, go for the easy targets. Win one of these prizes." And he points at a box of rather stale looking cupcakes*

Thank you, but I'm aiming for this one.

*Sonico points at the giant plush cat toy, looking brand new and super cuddly. Then she turns to Terrance and smiles as she explains*

It looks just like one of my cats at home.

[Terrance nods and keeps trying as well. Eventually he buys them each 10 more games. His throws are always close, just barely missing the target. The guy must have felt bad for the pair because he moves closer to Terrance and lowers his voice.]

The trick is to tilt the ring back to hook it.

[Terrance blinks a few times and then begins to try it as instructed. It takes time for him to figure out how to throw it and twice it almost looks like he has it until...]

*Until he scores! Finally the hoop lands on its target, prompting Sonico to clap her hands with delight and make a noise of excitement*

You did it! You finally did it! Well done!

*Then she points up at the three 'grand prizes' on display*
