[Video]

[Jaune starts the video, shoulders tense. Behind him, there is a nondescript door and window.] Hi. Jaune Arc again. I'm just going to get to the point. I've been here a while, over a year now, and I know a lot of people who have helped Genessia. I've been thinking a lot lately about how I can do the same. More than the other cities, I consider Nova City my home. But it's not perfect, and like all the other cities, some people benefit more than others. And a lot of people are just...overlooked.

I don't regret fighting, but I don't think everyone should have to. And everyone deserves an alternative to cope in ways that end up destroying them. So I've taken my background in dancing and made a dancing studio.

[He pans the camera up to show the building behind him. It's two stories, modern looking, but the most noteworthy feature is the looming gyarados shaped sign with sweeping words below it stating: Neptune's School for Dance. He moves the camera back to his face.]

So yeah Neptune's School for Dance is a new business and dancing studio where I'm hoping we'll get to focus on all kinds of dancing. I'm open to ideas because I want it to be a place where students feel like their input is valuable and stuff. Anyone is welcome to join, it's pay what you can...what else? Oh, right, our adult classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Seeing as I'm the only instructor at this time, and a Guardian Deputy, if an emergency happens obviously I'll have to focus on that. Which is why I'm hiring a second instructor and a bookkeeper. Once we grow more I might hire more instructors. [Some of the awkwardness seems to fade as he starts talking more animatedly, gesturing around.] But yeah, we'll be doing at least a few performances in the year, and some anti-violence stuff, as well as-- As well as rehabilitation. First class is free just to see if you're interested, and I guess if you have any questions you can ask them here. [He rubs the back of his neck, a bit unsure, and ends the video.]

[He hasn't actually been to her new home in person, but now that they're starting to mend their friendship and he has some free time, it seems like a good chance to. Equipping his pokeballs and shooting her a quick text, he heads over there and knocks on her door.]

I suppose that's fine. [ She doesn't look like she gets it, but whatever. ]

You'd be surprised how much resentment can build up in a single family, even if you're set to inherit everything when the time comes.

[Jaune doesn't look like he doesn't get it either. He doesn't get his family's reasoning for things especially with so little info to go on.] But we all ended up at Beacon anyway.

It might not happen overnight. But neither of you can be controlled here like you could back in Atlas, so maybe you can show him he doesn't have to be a completely ruthless jerk like your father.

[ Like if his parents didn't believe in him no one drove him that's for sure. Weiss
nearly killed herself for permission and that permission came with an air ship and servants to carry her things. ]

I'd like to think so, too.

For the most part. Sometimes I took an air ship when I could but walking was more convenient and less...painful.

You know they make medicine for that, don't you?

[ She nods, taking another sip of coffee. They really should've knocked on wood. ]

Not at the time. I didn't really plan ahead when I did it, I just sort of left as soon as I could.

[He nods.]

[ She's going to make him a Jaune-only first aid kit one day. ]

I assume you saw the pool and jacuzzi on your way in. Through that hall to the right were guest bedrooms and this is the dining area and lounge. [ She points across a half-wall. ] The kitchen is this way.

[ She starts leading him to the kitchen. ]

[Will it have bunnies and smiley faces?]

No Weiss, I must've somehow missed the giant basin of water and high class jacuzzi. [He follows her to the kitchen.] Got any chicken nuggets?

No, but I can make you some breaded and fried chicken breast strips. [ So like nuggets but better and with less preservatives. They're pretty easy, she learned how to do it with bread crumbs and with potato flakes. Whitley would probably balk at her learning to cook instead of just asking the help but whatever. ]

That sounds harder than making pancakes. [Narrowing his eyes. It sounds delicious but he also isn't going to ask Weiss to do that for him.]

I'm actually not very good at pancakes. They keep coming out lumpy.. [ She's trying but it's just not right unless she uses a mix, and then it definitely doesn't taste like quality pancakes. ] The chicken you just have one pile of chicken, one pile of eggs, and one pile of flour and spices mixed together, then you put it in the pan and hold the lid up as a shield for when it splatters.

[ That's 100% not what that's supposed to be used for. ]

That's because you're forgetting the secret ingredient. Wait do you just stand there the entire time holding the lid up? Can't you just walk away?

There's no secret ingredient. [ She just puts the liquid in first and then the dry ingredients form little shitty bubble pouches of dry ingredients and takes too long because she's referring back to the recipe.. ] Of course not. I walk away sometimes but when you first put it in the oil it splatters everywhere.

Yes there is. There's always a secret ingredient! You know, I could probably find you a shield just for cooking if you wanted, instead of using another pan.

It's a recipe from a book, I'm fairly certain it's not secret. I don't need a shield.

Then they must have either omitted it or included it as a riddle. No you don't.

[ She just gives him a look and shakes her head. ] Do you want food or not?

And you know me, so. Good job.

I'm always up for food.

Then go sit down and let me cook chicken and stop making fun of my pan lid.

Do you know how to blanche vegetables?

[ because he can do that but she doesnt trust him to do the chicken ]

I have no idea what that is and what I'm thinking it might be is probably incredibly wrong.

It's where you boil water, put the vegetables in the water for about 30 seconds, then take them out and put them in ice water to stop the cooking. Then you toss with olive oil and salt and pepper and it's the easiest way to get good vegetables. Do you think you can manage that?

Probably better than you can manage using fire dust. Yes I can manage heating and cooling a couple of vegetables.

I can manage fire dust just fine. You burn down the forest one time and all of a sudden people think you're bad at it.

[ GOSH. She shakes her head then gets out a basket of fresh veggies from the fridge and passes them over to him, then goes to get things ready for the chicken. ]
