[There's muffled childish cursing and a weird angled view of a little blond boy with pointed ears. He's dressed in green and has a shield that's too large for a child, and a sword that's just right.]

This is weird.

[The boy peers at the camera, big blue eyes curious.]

Navi, where are you?

Koishi didn't seem bothered by Link's yelp. After all, no one could really predict that she's actually a weird eldritch tentacle thing under that adorable face and hat.

"Of course she wont!" Yes she will Koishi. Satori is a giant grump. You're just biased. "I bet sis even has a meal prepared so you can eat with us. Sis makes all sorts of delicious things and I bet you'll love it."

"Yeah! Sis cooks the best everything in the whole world! Except for anything the maid cooks. But she's a special cook. So Sis cooks just fine." Biased much, Koishi? Also, I hope you're not a vegetarian, Link. You're about to have lunch with two carnivores.

They were already coming up on the Fayren gate, Koishi pulling Link up and diving through with no trouble. The world on the other side was green as could be with a little cobblestone village by the sea that was bordered by forests and mountains. It was beautiful.

Koishi changed her angle of flight, curving through the air and moving toward a specific part of the city. Though there were quite a few people out and about no one seemed to see them. Probably that ability to be unnoticed Koishi had mentioned previously.

"We're right here." And she landed in front of a flight of stairs leading to a door. The door was one of the entrances to the Fayren Waterway.

She placed Link down, landing next to him and rolling her shoulders as her tentacles retracted back into her sleeves.

"When you have your balance again we can go since you aren't used to flying."

"Of course I'm good at flying!" Koishi puffed up some. "I've been flying for centuries so it would be more strange if I wasn't."

She turned and began to move down the stairs and into the waterways, gesturing for Link to follow. "Come on. It's not much further now so please keep up with me."

The tunnel was dark and rather spooky, but Koishi seemed to know where to go. Conjuring a mote of pink light, she led them through the tunnels. Fortunately they didn't meet anything along the way. Not that they would be seen with Koishi's cloaking abilities.

Eventually they came to an old rotten door containing the last remains of archaic machinery... and a portal. It was made of jagged red metal and displayed an image of some sort of large building, rippling and brightly lit against a backdrop of darkness.

"Come on! Don't be scared, okay? Go on through!"

Gonna try to get Satori to post next.

The palace beyond was breathtaking. Made of solid stone and marble and towering above them it seemed like something from another world. In front of it was a well-kept garden. Not really impressive but certainly very nice. Of course, Link hadn't seen the back yet.

"This is Chireiden. It's where I live." Koishi waved up at the building. Sis is here too. Let's go find her."

Grabbing his hand, she began dragging him along toward the entrance which was overseen by an enormous carved eye. Through the doors, across a tiled floor, and by numerous stained glass windows they went. Until eventually they would both start smelling food. Roasting meat and vegetables.

"Sis! Sis I'm here! I'm home! And I brought a friend with me!" She let go of Link's hand and zipped through a final doorway, a dull impact audible as Koishi literally attached herself to her sister, Koishi's blue extra-eye nuzzling her sister's red one.

Satori had since 'heard' the distant movements of an unfamiliar mind as well as the emptiness of Koishi's movement. It seems she'd left some food to cook while she saw to it that the pets were fed with small portions of the meats and whatnot that they could stomach. Which meant, of course, she was surrounded by a crowd of nearly any animal that anyone could imagine: snakes slithered along the ground, a small clowder of cats carefully perched on rock outcroppings and bits of masonry, birds of various shapes and prodigious sizes nested above or around the fixtures and furniture. And many more, besides Regardless of how ecclectic these animals were, none of them fought one-another.

Some might say this is idyllic and rather maiden-like, for Satori to be surrounded head-to-toe with helpful and friendly animal companions. Some might even make comparisons to Satori as some sort of a pure princess and friend to all living things. They'd be half right, as only the latter was anywhere near accurate.

What Satori wasn't expecting was, as always, Koishi bounding in, attaching herself and loudly declaring that she found a new friend. And, of course, swapped hates with them, as is Koishi's odd little custom. Satori always knew that she couldn't deny one of Koishi's forcible friendships, even if she tried...

"...And..." she pried Koishi off herself as she looked the young boy up and down, curiously. What an odd choice of clothing, hat aside. Didn't look any different from a human, except in slight variation with it came to the ears and facial features. "Who might this be?"

There's no time to get overwhelmed Link! Not with a happy Koiball zippping around. She allowed herself to be pried off of her sister though.

"He's Link!" Koishi echoed unhelpfully. "And he's very green. And green is wonderful!" It's an objective fact. "He's here to have some food and to have some fun and it will be really great. Okay?"

Koishi stahp.

Meanwhile the animals had started gravitating toward link. Several small cats and one massive cougar one made their way over to him. A few birds fluttered over, landing nearby and hopping from side to side and- there was something on his shoe. A chubby raccoon was investigating his foot.

The Koiball has spoken, it seems. Satori turns away and lets out an audible sigh as she thinks about how to accommodate yet another sudden arrival.

Very quietly and patiently, Satori seemed not to be very troubled by all this, all things considered. A kid like him would be easy to deal with. And as much of a grump Satori was, she couldn't quite be as harsh to a child as she would an adult, human or otherwise. Sure, Link wasn't as precocious as Luke and the like, or wasn't nearly as inquisitive as her younger sister. Maybe he'd be just fine.

"I see. Well then, I suppose I can't really turn you away if my sister's brought you here expecting a meal. I've quite a lot to spare." While she wasn't sure what a Kokiri was, she supposed it was some other humanoid species from another world. Close enough. "So, you also deal with fairies once in a while? In my world, they're, unfortunately, not very bright. I hope you haven't lost her somewhere, have you?" A faint chuckle as she offers some food to the animals... "No need to be frightened, my pets are quite tame, so long as you behave."

Except for the raccoon. He was already trying to investigate Link's various pockets and such. Fortunately he couldn't get very far when Koishi reached down and scooped him up. "See? This is scribbles. He likes shiny things. Almost as much as the crows do."

And now there were some bunnies coming over to see him...

"Sis you shouldn't feed them over here." She put scribbles down and grabbed Link by the hand, gently dragging him inside to where the table was. "We should come in here and wait. Okay?"

Nevermind the small army of animals that were following.

Without further ado...

[personal profile] satori_komeiji 2017-09-07 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Satori's dining room - really, one of many rooms like it - seemed both austere and lavish at the same time, with its table made out of unusual darkened wood. Presumably, trees did grow in Old Hell at one point, but the furniture showed no real signs of damage or decay.

It wouldn't take Satori that long to head into the room herself, carrying a platter of grilled meats and vegetables. From the small stampede of pets that could vaguely be seen elsewhere, it seems Satori must've dispersed them for the time being.

"...Apologies for taking so long, my pets are rather demanding when they want to be." Despite herself, she couldn't help but force a smile for the boy. Idly examining his surface thoughts as she set down the plate, she added "...It seems in your world that you had quite an important errand, is that right? Though, I doubt you could do much about it, now." Satori continues, bringing a hefty serving of rice, some smaller plates, bowls and some sets of chopsticks. "I'm not sure how time in our original worlds passes while we're away, but I assume things will sort themselves out."

"Time always seems fine for everyone else though!" Koishi interjected, jittering excitedly in her seat. She attacked the bowl when it was given to her, shoveling quite a bit of rice and vegetables and meat in all at once. She had to pause to keep from choking. But only for a moment.

It seemed not ALL of the pets had been dismissed either. There were still a few errant dogs and a weasel who seemed keen on collecting any discarded crumbs.

At least Link would have an example of how to use the chopsticks.

Satori nods to her sister, seemingly agreeing with her assertion.

"Fair point, Koishi. I suppose it depends where and when people arrive. I've heard that some people - even from the same world - can arrive from different times. Perhaps that's why I feel the notion of 'time' isn't quite the right thing to say..."

She didn't want to confuse the boy anymore, so she turned her gaze, both physical and mental, to his mental state. Satori didn't seem to mind Link's unusual eating habits. The boy's surface thoughts seemed to imply his background was much simpler than the long-lived youkai's. Her reply was an almost instant response to the boy's worries.

"...I understand there's much you miss from home, as well. I understand, to the limit of my comprehension of your situation. But, for the time being, it might be best for you to try and find out how to support yourself here. Saving your homeland, as much as it pains me to say it, can wait. The whims of the strangers who led us here seem to think otherwise."

Satori sighed, taking a seat and setting a place for herself, calmly eating her portion of delicious grilled meats. "While I don't have much experience in world-saving endeavors, you won't get a chance to do much about it unless you find a way to leave here. Either that, or you languish here for a while and discover the mysteries behind this new world. With your youth and your wits, I'm sure you might be able to find things others overlook."
