[Open Log | Duration of the Halloween even]
Who: Scott Summers and YOU
Where: All across the cities
When: From the start of the Halloween Event to end (see starters)
What: Incubus Scott getting used to his new form as well and the Halloween madness going on
Warnings: Loose interpretation of what an incubus does or rather should be doing, in dreams because Scott's trying to use his powers for good and he fails at the whole Incubus thing.
Extra info 1: Write a starter for any day/night or, If you want, feel free to leave me a location and day/time and I’ll write it for our characters.
Extra info 2: Here's a visual of how Scott looks like.
[First Day - Morning - Nova City]
For his morning jog, Scott runs through a different city every week. It helps him exercise and memorize their layouts. As luck would have it, this week he had chosen Nova City but he doesn’t make it very far after crossing the archway. A tingling sensation hits him and then a wave of pain in his back and head makes Scott fall to his knees.
The world is out of focus for some long, agonizing seconds. When the burning sensation running over his body calms down, the always present pressure behind his eyes caused by his beams is gone. His t-shirt has been ripped at the back, Scott can see part of it on the ground, and when he glances over his shoulder he can see a pair of dark, leather wings and a tail he most definitely didn’t have before. ]
What the…? [He's trying really hard not to freak out, and failing spectacularly.]
[Rest of the Days –All times of the day and all cities]
[Scott’s got over the shock of having his body transformed but he’s still trying to find a way to get himself back to normal. He can be found in the Library looking for information, helping to keep at bay the monsters in Genessia even if he no longer has his powers, looking for potions or magic spells that could fix things in Everglade…Or just generally going about his day as well as he can.]
[All nights - People's dreams]
The first time it happens, it's completely by accident. Scott doesn't seem to be able to rest well at night, the wings make it impossible to lie on his back and he's tired from the hunger. Eating doesn't make him feel any better or sated since the transformation. He doesn't register that his mind started to drift until he finds himself in a field with his dog Horatio running around and birds and chasing rabbits. Eventually, it dawns on Scott that he’s not the one dreaming any of it, he's just in the dream and aware of it. Horatio comes running to him, tail wagging and jumping to lick his face, and it makes Scott laugh when the dog’s energy and enthusiasm somehow make the feeling of hunger go away.
Things get easier after that. Scott realizes that he's got some control of the dreams he visits. Not the people in them or their actions but rather the dreamscape. If he concentrates, he can change nightmares, chase dark shadows and fears away. He's not sure how, exactly, but figures that if an incubus needs positive feedback from others then it helps if they are comfortable rather than stressed by their own subconscious. It's a positive perk and he's going to try to make good use of it. Maybe some dream walking would distract him from the hunger again.

[All nights - People's dreams]
The first time it happens, it's completely by accident. Scott doesn't seem to be able to rest well at night, the wings make it impossible to lie on his back and he's tired from the hunger. Koishi turned away and began walking again, the world dissolving back into snow, dressing the little youkai in familiar furs once more. Though she had her mask down this time. Sallow leather with deep eye holes and metal spikes stitched in to serve as teeth. It was frightening in the light. It would be hard to imagine how unsettling it would be in the dark.
"We aren't a well-known species so I'm not surprised." Tentacles slid out of hidden slits in the sleeves, Koishi taking another two steps before darting to one side. She collided with a bush? A deer? It was certainly a deer when it fell to the ground; constricted with its neck broken. "We're mind readers, though I discarded that power of mine a very long time ago."
The mask was ripped off, teeth shearing through ribs. Scott couldn't see much, but he could certainly hear.
She swallowed. "Different? No. I am me. I am always me. But the ability to think outside myself shouldn't be squandered on momentary pleasures. It's why my sister and I don't actively hunt humans anymore."
She shifted, pulling her hand back, the deer's heart in her hand, the air growing significantly colder. It started snowing.
"... Though it's been a long time since we last chased deer together"

But ah, it was tempting and it would probably be healthier. Scott knew it would only be satisfying on a physical level. And once all this was over, if it did pass, he wanted to be able to look at himself in the mirror. He titled his head, tail swinging behind him, and looked at Koishi intensely.
"How does one give up on being a telepath? The ones I've met so far would rather cut one of their arms than lose that advantage."
The telepaths Scott knew weren't always the nicest people or the most respectful. That sadly included Jean but she had been doing better lately at respecting people's personal mindspace. Scott tried to focus on her memory, her voice, instead of the murdered deer and the unpleasant noises. It wasn't easy.
One of the boy's wings lifted, he held it over his head to use it as a makeshift umbrella to stop the snow from soaking it.
"I hunted with my father when we were stranded on an alien planet. I like fishing more, it's less brutal. Unless you are the first."

"Oh. This again..."
People seemed to step out of the trees. Or the trees became people. Dozens of angry individuals pouring in around them. Scott would blink and they would find themselves some distance away watching an image of Koishi get repeatedly stabbed and beaten with farm tools.
"Even after three and a half centuries I still dream about this." It was eerie how calm she was. "In their defense, I deserved it, really." She leaned back against a tree as Satori appeared, ripping at the humans and taking several blows to pull the image out of the fray.
Koishi waited until the scene finished to speak, now sporting more than a few injuries on her dream-self. "Lobotomy is how you can give up being a mind reader. Or something akin to it. A satori's powers don't turn off so we don't exactly get the choice to stop hearing people's thoughts. So I disconnected my third eye from my brain."
The world was starting to look a lot more like the inside of a building now. Something grand and beautiful with a fire in the fireplace. It was also a lot less cold. Koishi was now sitting under a blanket next to her sister by the fire.
"It's a bit more chaotic than usual tonight..."

He takes a few steps closer to the girl, watching the changes in the surrounding with either fascination or a grimace. As the scene before him plays out, hos frown increase and his wings tremble with agitation, his shoulders tense.
"No one deserves that, even if you used to hunt down humans. That's not justice." It's vengeance, and yes he might be making assumptions about the reason these people had for attacking Koishi but it doesn't change the fact that it seems wrong to him. It's in the nature of the scorpion to sting, Scott wonders if the same could be said for a satori youkai. Like it is for demons.
"A lobotomy...that must have been hard to go through." He can't even imagine how it might feel. Scott's wings shifted again and he looked around at the building with interest. His attention soon turned to Koishi and her sister. "Maybe it's because you are restless? Or perhaps it's because I'm here."

Koishi watched the fire grow, swallowing the dream, darkening it and dying into the embers of a bonfire. There were more youkai here. One of them was a satori Scott didn't recognize.
"It wasn't so difficult for me. My sister though... I slept for a long time. And when I woke up we had to learn how to communicate again. I miss speaking with emotion and intention and in ways language couldn't even begin to convey. But we're still two halves of the same whole. If I trust myself I still know what she's thinking. At least a little bit."

"I have a brother too, younger than me. Well not exactly, it's...it's complicated. I time traveled and the version of him that I met is now older. So I have an older, younger brother." Yep, sounds absolutely absurd, even more when he says it out loud. "The thing is..we used to be close when we were little, before the plane crash happened and we lost our parents. Back then I hit my head really hard and was in a coma for months, got brain damage...not quite a lobotomy but still a nuisance."
More so because it left him unable to control his mutant powers. it was when the headaches started too, he was only 8 years old, and those haven't stopped since. "By the time I woke up, they had taken my brother from me. In my right time-line, we still haven't been reunited. And the adult one now hates me. Family is always a complicated matter. Is your sister in Genessia too?"
no subject
"In this case I killed him because I was starving. It wasn't short or painless. The more fear he felt the better meal he would be. I was supid and excited and fully intended to drag him back home... It was good that I got his heart out before I was found. If I hadn't I'm not sure I would have survived my injuries."
Koishi listened quietly as Scott spoke about his brother, the dreamscape shifting through scenes and memories of the pink haired youkai. Koishi's sister. Koishi's third eye was focused on him though it had lost the clarity it had before, the surface frosted white.
"... That's sad to hear. No one should be separated from family that they want to be around. I don't know what I would do without my sister." A pause. "Yes. She's in Genessia too. She doesn't really like people so she hides underground in Fayren. But she is such a genuinely wonderful person. It's hard to show her that humans are worth having as friends after centuries of hate. I think she's starting to understand though."
